They been looking in your direction for a very long time, don't worry about that. But yeah saying they do not like what they see would be a massive understatement. All been said before, you should all know the story by now, and what's coming next.
Its a red herring. Deliberately placed to misguide you so that even skeptic may get attracted to it atleast by looking at the fucking name of the cult which makes it look like a rationalist one. When he goes inside, it may be easy to make him part of the group, the collective.
Once, when I was bored, I entered a Church of Scientology that was advertising a personality test, to see if you were fit to join them. The test consisted of questions like "Does your family like you?" "Do you procrastinate a lot?" "Do you always wear clean clothes?" and such. At the end, the lady told me I was a "bad person", but I could correct that by buying and studying these books! (Can't remember the titles, but it was not their basic Dianetics book.) She also recommended I buy Hubbard's autobiography, in 19 (yes, 19! ) huge bound volumes, (one for each career Hubbard had, supposedly. I can only remember the volume about him being a mountain climber) to get a great role-model! Since they weren't free, I refused and went home. I got lots of free bibles, new testaments and korans and stuff by talking to Jehova's witnesses and such, but don't expect free books from scientology! So to this day, I am still a bad person, darn.
It isn't. But when an organization tops out on the BITE Model, militantly harass ex-followers, and manipulates untold amounts of money from a relatively small flock, society has to collectively throw up their arms with a mighty WTF!😡
It wouldn't surprise me, if this was created as a bet, to see what is the most bat shit crazy thing you can get people to believe and follow. And in that sense, this wins hands down.
Because those were believed in before the age of reason dingus 😒. And you just referenced gods (i think) which are not religions or even always tied to them. Dude scientology doesn't even have a godhead! 😂 Kid seriously, learn to think ,research and actually listen before you embarrass yourself publicly. 😉
L. Ron Hubbard attained the highest level of scientology and became an Operating Thetan but still died of a stroke? Bummer. I Thought e-meters are supposed to pick imbalances like that up?
He also apparently died whilst under prescription of a drug used in psychiatry, a field which he spent his life trying to discredit. Way to practice what you preach.
Biker Boiy ronnie was pretty smart probably, he has said himself that the fastest way to earn money is to start a new religion. and look where that got him
CoS even claimed that the leaked material wasn't genuine, b/c it's soooo....Batshit Crazy it would scare off any new marks. They have to get you brainwashed so you'll eat their shit.
Scientology is a direct result of a $1 bar bet between L.Ron Hubbard and Robert A. Heinlein. Hubbard said that people are SOOoooo gullible that he could invent a B.S. religion, and they would gravitate to it and have the same level of fervent belief as any other ancient religion. Heinlein disagreed and the stage was set. Heinlein lost the bet.
Sorry, that's an urban legend. There's no evidence anywhere that this story (passed word of mouth) is in fact something that actually happened web.archive.org/web/20110514101858/tafkac.org/religion/hubbard_heinlein_bet.html
@@FIREBRAND38 That link does not exactly debunk it, the bet with Heinlein may be untrue, but the conclusion of this article is that Hubbard seems to have said many times "the way to make real money is to start a religion".
I was raised a scientologist, and only left the church in my early 20's. The representation in this video of their religious outlook is astoundingly accurate. I'm so very glad the internet is ensuring the religion can't grow, and that it actually shrinks. It is a great relief that Scientology will never mature into legitimacy, and will instead die in obscurity.
Aww, they abridged the Xenu story, getting some things wrong, and made it sound a little less crazy. Also, the e-meter is basically an ohmmeter and simply measures electrical resistance. It doesn't detect a static field and Scientologists don't claim it does. To put it very simply: they claim it detects thoughts, so they know what topics are causing problems (emotional upsets) and detect when they've 'fixed' those problems. They also use it in interrogations to detect malicious intent and lies. Isn't that nice?! 8D Obviously, once you've fixed all your problems you move on to removing the problems of your past lives. Then! when get to OT3 and learn the Xenu story, future auditing is all about removing those pesky alien thetans sticking to your body.
... the ad which came up before it would play the video was one for the Church of Scientology. I laughed so hard that I started coughing. Money well spent CoS!
Someone please educate me on this lore. If Thetans pretty much control every aspect of the universe then......how could they possibly be banished at all? Hmmmm, I smell that smelly smell......
For once, I agree with TheThinkingAtheist. “You don't get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion.” -- L. Ron Hubbard
In the episode of the Outer Limits (1963) called "The Architects of Fear" a man undergoes radical surgical procedures to look like an alien from the planet Theta. He is turned into a *Thetan*!
I am torn...if you are dumb enough to believe this crap you deserve to lose your money...but I do feel sad for the desperate average person who has bought into this con and lost everything...
For the adults I tend to aggree with you. Since Scientology is using pretty brutal brain washing techniques to manipulate people, I tend to feel sorry for the victims. But when it comes to children it gets really, really ugly. This is a crime and pure child abuse.
Scientology - The only religion that chose to worship Clark Kent instead of Superman. I mean, seriously, does it not occur to these people that L. Ron, who supposedly came up with all this fantastic "TRUTH" didn't even reach the highest level of the religion HE INVENTED???
Scientology claims that Dianetics "clears" can remember everything including being born. When Diane Sawyer asked Tom Cruise when was the last time he had a cold, he paused, pondered, and eventually said, "I don't remember."
Thanks for explaining this to me. I've tried reading materials on Scientology to see what it's all about, but it's always so long winded and full of pseudo scientific mysticism that I can never focus for more than a few sentences.
$$$cientology is the only religion in the world which is a 'pay as you go' religion. The more $$$ you pay the higher you go - the exact opposite of Christianity and others. It is not just different - it is VERY different!
I went to a lecture by a former Scientologist speaking out; this vid only scratches the surface. He spoke of taking out loans of $20,000+ for the counseling class they insisted he take. Their Office of Special Affairs works to harass and silence detractors and critics. One woman who spoke out against them (Lisa McPherson) was found dead in the basement of one of their buildings after being 'interrogated' by the OSA. Rex Fowler murdered his business partner after laundering money into the church.
@ssesf I agree. The pot calling the kettle black isn't simply infuriating, it's also rather baffling. My mother did this recently when a friend of her's passed away. Someone posted on his FB page that he was in peace and that Jesus would soon return to bring all of his flock to peace. She scoffed, so I asked "Isn't that EXACTLY what YOU believe?" She paused and then said "...Well yeah, but I'm not all poetic about it." I simply stared at her.
I went to a few of the Scientology gigs - but quickly found out - being poor and black and educated didn't work for them... They showed me the door and I showed them my ass walking out of it...
Don't forget the extra RPF for the RPF victims, where they take the people already on the RPF and ramp up the abuse even more to even greater insanity if they continue to misbehave.
Aw... You left out the best part! I forgot most of the story, but apparantly the past of the Thetans is a whole new story in itself. Something about brainwashing in a 3D movie theatre. I'm hoping for a sequel sometime soon!
Etherwinter By finding people who have recently moved town, or had a relative, friend, etc, move town, or done anything that cuts them off from their relatives, causing them to want to find a group to join so that they feel like their relatives are there. This opens the doors for further indoctrination, as people that are of normal, or *above average* intelligence and people that are perfectly sane will come to meet the new cult member, along with people that are clearly the opposite of "sheeple" coming to greet them as well. This is combined with them beginning by saying in innocuous question, then asking them if they want a flyer, then asking them if they want to go to a session, ad infinitum, or until they are a fully integrated cult member. Along with that, since they are in a group, when the average "cult members are stupid/insane/gullible" insult comes their way, their reaction is to defend the group from this, since they take it as the equivalent of a direct, physical attack against a Church of Scientology.
I've had some experience with scientologist in the past. they tried to recruit me a couple years ago. I actually went to the grand opening of the church of scientology in Minnesota. while I was there I found an e-meter just chilling alone in a room. basically there is the part they showed in the video which the operator uses, and 2 sliver cylinders that the users hold. all it is, is a pressured sensor. when you squeeze the needle goes up, when you let go it goes down.
"L. Ron Hubbard was being pursued by the IRS for skimming an estimated $200 million from his own church." Sounds like "auditing" didn't work out too well for Elron.
The thing that makes me laugh is people don't realize that their own culture ticks all the boxes for a cult. Like the saying goes "a fish cant see water".
If the Supreme Creator wanted us to be happy, we would be happy. He is Supreme. He created the Universe exactly as he wanted it with no flaws. If he had any plans, nothing could stop him. But what are we? Mortals that live less than 100 years long in a universe of 14 billion years? Descendants of primates, reactions between common-as-dirt elements, that still suffer from hunger and disease? If he created us and we "sinned", why couldn't he just destroy us or make us perfect?
This sounds eerily similar to the churches during the middle ages. "Pay us money, a creation of human beings that has zero connections to any form of divine entity, and we will cleanse you of your evils, even though the technique(s) used requires little to no money to operate."
@Cameradude62 I very much agree with you, thats why we must speak with reason and not let our emotions get ahold of us when discussing this with thiest of the like.
RU-vid has a Video Titled "Harlan Ellison & Robin Williams discuss LRH" in which, along with the reminisces of the "Good Old Days" by Harlan, he recalls party at which the ORIGINAL essence of Scientology was developed. listen ALL the way through, it's WORTH it!
The narrator's voice cracks me up. It sounds so intelligent and professional but we're talking about the most ridiculous bullshit. I love these videos.
When I was a kid Hubbert was basically an average sci-fi author. Seeing his "church" actually get members and grow is amazing. For those of you younger, it would be like there being a "Church of the Force" founded by George Lucas being taken seriously as a religion twenty years from now.
