Jason Beghe is a great actor and a great advocate against Scientology. I'm glad that he got out of it and that he is now helping to educate people of the dangers.
Jason is an exceptional actor and a gentleman of great integrity! He inspires me to lead a more honorable life. After supporting my daughter in the Sea Org for 16 years ( buying medicine, clothes, shoes food etc.) She was forced to disconnect from me because I discovered the Truth about Scientology which devastated me because it was such a betrayal of trust. I hope there will be more speeches or interviews.

Jason acquired his rugged voice to match his rugged good looks after pulling out his breathing tube (unintentional) when he was intubated after a serious car accident. Don’t know if he has any lasting effects besides the hoarseness, but sadly self-extubation often results from inexperienced staff.
@@elftails that's interesting bc if you've ever had a breathing tube, its THICK AF. nothing compared to a gastric tube to empty the stomach. and fyi, worse tho...the catheter...it only comes out one way ...my advice is to do it fast...luckily they lubricate it first...

I feel for this man, you can see he is damaged. I hope he is better now I see this many years later. He seems like a sweet genuine person. I do not know if he visited more countries. Would love to see him in Holland. I wish him a good life.

Awesome speech. I really hope the German government decides to make sure Scientology can't abuse anybody in their country. I also salute them for listening to a private person. Thank you, Mark Bunker, for uploading and sharing all these videos, they're a great resource of information not only about Scientology, but about cult abuse in particular as well as abuse in general, watching them makes someone like myself feel a little bit less helpless.
Probably won't be noticed by OP after all this time, but all German states have a commissioner on cults. The state of Hamburg had a special Scientology taskforce until 2010 (this recording probably was made at one of its meetings). The taskforce was headed by Ursula Caberta, she gave them hell for years and years and worked towards banning Scientology altogether. I only write this because she put herself out there knowing what horrible things this cult might try to stop her but she performed her duties admirably and went far beyond what was called for. I have great respect for her.

Undoubtedly the sexiest voice on the planet! It's clearly very hard for him to admit he got drawn in and fell for the lies and deceit. I once had a friend with a troubled childhood who was a financial genius and self-made millionaire. When he told me he was involved with Scientology I warned him but he became very defensive and disapproving of me. I knew I could not reach him anymore I never saw him again after that and have always wondered what became of him.
I'm grateful this man and other actresses and actors have this platform to speak to an audience and warn them of making the biggest mistake of their lives and saving themselves mental destruction and LOTS of money.

Scientology has tried to smear Jason and other critics on their propaganda site freedom magazine. It's all they have. Name calling and false accusations. They even have a whole vid dedicated to trying to make him look bad. It only makes Scientology look bad. Google Who Is Jason Beghe.

It would probably be very effective to see their tax-exempt status revoked. The tax-payer is being asked to bare the tax portion for a criminal organization. Minor Children are being victimized. This was the most concrete description of what you get from Scientology and what people find so seductive. We all want certainty but the real human condition is that we get no certainty unless it is what we ultimately glean about ourselves. One billion year contract without pay/sleep/food? Richard Day The IRS gave in to them as part of an extortion deal. Scientology had thousands of lawsuits tying up IRS and individual IRS workers that would’ve taken years and a lot of money to close out so they promised to drop them all in trade for tax exemption status. This is even after they were busted for sending people into IRS offices to steal all the information they had on Hubbard and Scientology (Operation Snow White). They were almost a billion dollars behind on taxes and were almost bankrupt and would’ve been defunct if the IRS had denied their status. 😒

I Googled to see if Scientology got tax exempt status in Germany and at first glance, I thought they had. After checking Wikipedia I found they didn't get recognised as a "church" and has no tax exemption, I am correct, right? Please tell me I am right!
German here. You are right. Plus, their activities are observed by our "Verfassungsschutz" (Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution) for the violation of democratic principles. And I, as a teacher, had to declare that I'm no member of Scientology to get hired with the state, same thing with policemen, judges and other federal or state employees.
