I love how James looks at Lemmy when he starts singing, like he turned into a kid again who gets the one of a lifetime opportunity to play with his idol.
There aren't many musicians who would dare go up on stage and jam with Metallica. The bar is just so damn high. Hell, if anything, Lemmy was the temporary leader of this band during this. RIP Lemmy. You are sorely missed.
Seeing them trying to get right next to lemmy as they slay the guitar with huge grins on their faces shows how much respect they have and just how much this means to them
Im not even a heavy metal fan.Only just discovered Metallica, never listened to Motorhead but this was fabulous.I felt very emotional, the energy and respect was off the page.Sad that Lemmy is no longer with us
Lemmy sounds like shit....he has a garbage voice how they fuck did he sell records glad I never heard of him tell today I prefer ozzy he has waaaayyyyy Better vocals
@@southerncorruptionaudits161 I find Lemmy very fascinating as a person and I understand he is a legend, but he doesn’t sound great. I like a few of Motörhead’s songs, but that’s it.
@@richramsey7281Doesn't matter how much Metallica accomplished, who steals the show on that stage? Lemmy was larger than life and his legacy will last forever.
Part of Gen Z, and I fucking love Motorhead. Metallica, eh, but this show was absolutely beautiful. Wish I could've been there or gone to one of Lemmy's shows, but in 2009 I was ~6 years old LMAO
Daivid Herridge YES HE WILL BE! Lemmy was a smart good moraled man and way cool man.! After meeting Lemmy and conversing for an hour and telling him I thought Motorhead had a good Punk sound to it and seeing him noding yes with a big smile happy to hear that. I learned he plAYED with Wendy O Williams (The Plazmatics) The RAMONESetc... Hearing him say if not for our long hair you might think we could be a Punk Rock bandwas cool. He was Punk being himself and not caring if others liked it. Hearing Lemmy say I was smart it was nice talking to someone who knows whats really going on. Comming from Lemmy is something I will never forget and made me smile in rough times Lemmy is a gift to Rock & Roll that should be treasured by all! THe bigest rockstar I can think of spoke with me for an hour like a friendis a extremelyadmireable quality I give credit too! The onlyt other person I have met thathad some of that was a girl I briefly introducedmyself to and offered to buy a drink walking through a night club one night. She was way Nectarand very polite declining my offer. That surprised me when my friend I went there with gave ne a little gruff doing thatand I learned who that wasand surptised I did knot know until he told me. Even after telling me her first name. Thats Pamela Anderson Did I not see the body gaurds near by? Looking over my shoulder in total surprise hearing thisI glanced over my shoulder and WTF Wow it was her!My Gen X supermodel TV& movie star I think. God Bless her being so nice and for looking over a little up at mewith a big smile on her beautiful face before I left.
What Lemmy has always been and still is different from all modern half-finished rockers is that he was never a cheap poseur! Rock n roll above all! That's why we love him!!!
I wonder... he idolized Lemmy for so long but, after the black album, he started talking about Lemmy like he was someone else's idol. I saw an interview where he admitted to never being close to Lemmy and I would bet the house he had plenty of opportunity to become close to him if he'd wanted... And my money is on that James didnt know about Lemmy's rabid love of methamphetamines for a while. I mean, you dont just spend a few years wishing you were another person (James admitted his AJFA cut was directly motivated by wanting to actually be Lemmy) to downplaying their influence on you.
This will forever show the respect Lemmy had with all of these bands that came after. Even though Metallica early surpassed the popularity and sales of Motorhead, they still looked like kids jamming with him.
@@grindfreakmike5754 Imagine calling a band sellouts when we all know if you were in their position you would have done the same thing. How about we just celebrate both bands being able to make a career doing something they love? Who gives a shit if they make a lot of money doing it
I had the honor to see Motörhead live for ONE time, on one of their last concerts before...the tragedy. I was 15 years old during that time, I held a presentation about Motörhead in my class after that and everyone loved it! After that, with the last slide being a picture of me stage diving towards the band with the Motörhead Logo in the background, I instantly bought tickets for their next concert, which was schechuled in February 2016...I was taking a dump, when I read the news and let me tell you, if I weren't sitting on the toilet that moment, I would've shit my pants. R.I.P Lemmy Kilmister \m/
I was there. This was the highlight of the night for me. Had no idea it was going to happen. Great night for sure. One of the two friends I went to this show with died in a car crash a few years ago, so this is a pretty special show in retrospect.
Me and a mate drove 5 hours to see Lamb of God live, didn't really give a shit about Metallica, but they put on one of the best live shows I have ever witnessed. When Lemmy came out I came in my pants. 100% worth the drive.
For me, there's something about Lemmy telling the guys "good job." As someone who's played shows with more experienced musicians that I look up to, there's a unique feeling when the song's over and they tell you that. Just makes you realize that at the end of the day, legend or no, he was just a musician who loved to jam. RIP Lemmy.
This is the best METALLICA video ever! I've never been a big fan of Metallica. I've ALWAYS loved Motörhead and Lemmy! But, this is one of the top five most respectable moments for them! Mad props to Metallica for this.
I met Lemmy once. He asked if he could have my girlfriend at the time. I said no of course. AND he bought me a drink for saying so. True story. Hippodrome 1990. Actually november 89. My bad.
It's so much fun to watch this and see that's those guys still being huge fans of his idols. James looks like an fifteen years old on the first show of his favorite band, the whole band actually lol
Lemmy's totally unique. Part Rock Star, part Biker and part Outlaw Cowboy. Metallica wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Motorhead. There will never be another like Lemmy. We miss him dearly.
Lemmy is the God Father Of Metal and Hardcore Punk in many ways .."We are Motorhead and we play Rock n Roll ...all metal bands after are sons and daughters of Motorhead and Lemmy loved them all ....they love him Lemmy and Metallica played on that stage as masters of their art , as equals , as brothers ....Legends one and all
James Hetfield is pretty good at solos, he should consider going back and forth with Kirk Hammett doing little solos on Metallica albums that would be awesome!! It’s also very awesome to see Lar’s idol Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead join Metallica on stage!! Rest In Peace Lemmy and thank you for the music!! What a legendary icon for rock and roll and heavy metal music!! 🎸🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
So much joy and excitement in one video have you even seen Lemmy so happy? No one could ever replace him he was and forever is the king of rock and roll!!
Lucky to have had an opportunity to meet Lemmy He was an absolute gentleman. Very soft spoken and didn't come across as a rock star at all. Had a chat with Him a very classy man who is sorely missed. R.I.P. Lemmy
I saw the Head 22 times. The first time was on one of the early American tours. A small punk club in Chicago. The came in and played as hard as they would in a stadium. I was like this is the greatest band ever. Wound up at the bar across the street drinking Jack with Lemmy. I absolutely loved that band.
Not only the audience who looked happy in this show, the joy are also looked from the faces of the Metalica personnel because they being able to be on the same stage with Lemmy
Metallica: OMG Lemmy is one our biggest influences and he’s Lars’ all time hero. We can’t believe he’s here with us tonight. Holy shit! Lemmy: What’s this drummer’s name again? Larry?
