From Stirling, drive over to Glasgow to see the Burrell Collection, a diverse collection of things you might have found in a castle over the years! I loved it!
Contrary to Grim's Fairy Tales, castles were not built for comfort and luxury. Palaces and Manor houses were built for those things, on the other hand castles were built for defense and protection of the King and Royal family.
It looks so cold and drafty. I don't think I would like to go there in the winter. Perhaps in the summer, the openness of the place would be cool, but I much appreciate that I can visit this castle vicariously through you. Thank you so very much for your time and effort.
Spectacular video, Lad. Your video made it seem one was actually taking the tour. A fiend and I went home to Scotland for the first tyme in September 2015, sadly tyme did not allow us to go to Stirling, although Stirling is on the list for the next trip. Slàinte.
thank You for sharing this Video... i appreciated the time you took to show the great details along the way INSPITE of the cold. Id have loved to see you and your lady in those warm clothes :)
Que hermoso castillo y una vista espléndida desde todas las ventanas es como regresar a esa época y ver como vivían y pasaban sus días...Saludos desde Rosario, Argentina
Lovely walk, great views, wonderfully chosen music. The ceiling views 14:16, are breathtaking. Considering all you had was a mini-hand-held I thought it was shot nicely overall. Made me feel like I was walking there with you!! Just 2 Q's, though: 1) Did ever see the cell / bedroom / dungeon where MQ / Scots was, imprisoned? 2) Any idea who some of the notables were that was buried in the cemetery?
Vsk Because my family literally immigrated from the Stirling, Scotland territory 150+ years ago to the Western United States. Last name, Stirling. Family has traveled back on a pretty regular occasion to tour the Castle and Stirling.
Thank you for sharing your visit to this amazing place. I really enjoyed your video and your photos were beautiful. We just returned from Scotland and visited the castle as well, but didn't see half as much as you guys did. We just ran out of time, unfortunately. Did you take a tour with a guide as well? We had a fabulous tour guide, he could easily fit in with Monty Python. We did learn a lot there and hope to return there someday to see all we missed. Thank you again.
kilgore trout I'm pleased you enjoyed our video, we did have an option to have a guide but we chosen not too, it is a great place to visit. Have you done Edinburgh Castle?
Nice video! I'm curious though, @ time 3:42 in those windows, or 3 of them, do they have mannequins displayed in front of the windows looking out? It kinda looks like something is standing there and looking out. And the eerie part of it all is that these things look ghostly or skeleton like. I can see where the eye sockets would be and its just everything looks symmetrical ..right arm / left arm. Right shoulder/left shoulder. Even the head. So it's not like I'm seeing pareidolia. I don't know....
Stirling castle is massive.. I guess they are restoring and opening as they make eiros to do so.. Not bad.. The first part is what it really used to be.. Eventually you get to the private spaces.. In not sure I like the games like the jester stuff. .touristy. Wasn't there long ago.. Stopped at halfway...good try. Thnx. 😇
Just something they forgot to mention, Stirling castle was the barracks (Home) for the Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders, My brother spent quite a few months there during his National Service in the 60s, before being shipped out to Kenya, thats why the huge renovation, well A Regiment can make a wee mess.
I dont understand why Queen Elizabeth of england portraits on the wall, after what the other Queen Elizabeth did to Mary Queen of Scot, this is Mary Queen Of Scots birthplace, talk about a slap in the face
