Scotland Trip, New Kitchen Worktops & Fair Finds! (Birthday, Schöffel & Eat Nourish Love Talk)

This week’s been a bit of a whirlwind! We kicked things off with a trip to the Scottish Islands for Archie’s 16th birthday. It was so lovely catching up with the boys, having a good laugh, eating plenty, and just relaxing. There was a bit of a hiccup with our Airbnb booking, but we ended up somewhere simpler and closer to school, so it all worked out in the end.
I also attended a Schöffel focus group, which was hugely interesting and a real honour to be invited to. I love that they actually ask for feedback from their customers-it feels like they really care.
Back home, we had a big moment with the new Evotops from BFAB.UK kitchen worktops being installed. They’re made from reclaimed materials so look fantastic as well as being much better for the environment - watch along to see how they turned out!
Later in the week, I attended the Eat Nourish Love fair and met some incredible brand owners, then had my big talk! I was really quite nervous, but it went well, and my friends came to support me, which was lovely. I leapt out of my comfort zone and just went for it, meeting some wonderful members of the Ask Charlie community along the way. Thank you to everybody who took the time to come and say hello, it was a real honour meeting you.

Hi Charlie The kitchen is looking gorgeous it really is ... where is it from and what is the name of cabinets please. You are doing so well .. quick question are the tops ok if you use things like tumeric - they won't discolour is what I am asking please? At some point when it is all finished it would be good to list all the products in the kitchen together - ... sink, worktops, taps etc Have a lovely weekend! You are getting there :))))

Thank you and yes I will do a list once it’s all done, the units are from DIY kitchens but it’s a bespoke colour as I didn’t like there options for green so it’s Guild Green from Dulux I wouldn’t use turmeric straight on any worktop but in a bowl or chopping board but I think it would be ok x

@@ask.charlie Aah you are amazing where do you find the time to answer so quickly. Re the tumeric it is just I do a lot of ethnic cooking and things get spilt!! What are the unit names. I love the colour green you have chosen but then you have a much larger space than I do. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly ... again have a lovely weekend

Hi Charlie, thank you for another lovely vlog. The kitchen’s looking marvellous! Have you decided on a name for your AGA yet? How about ‘Maggie?’ Have you used up the space under the bed for storage? It looks like those clothes storage packets would fit under it quite neatly. I know nothing of riding and competitions but the weather conditions did sound quite treacherous, and unnerving for all, surely Santana wasn’t the only horse that objected…Have a great week.😊🌻

Great variety vlog. Well done with your interview, so right I would expect people are taught these things but they are not. Like you I was lucky and Mum did teach me and I married young at 21 so needed to learn quickly but always enjoyed cooking, home making and great satisfaction from it. You do need to want to learn though especially nowadays when you can if you can afford it buy so much. Your kitchen is getting there how exciting. What a shame Santana had a moment, my mare never liked the rain! Thanks for sharing 😊

Hi Charlie Love your new kitchen - thought I had sent you a message but can't see it so apologies if this subsequently shows up again! Can you tell me where the kitchen is from and what the name of the range of cabinets please? When the kitchen is finished it would be lovely if you listed everything - cabinets, colour, worktops, handles, sink, taps etc all in one place. It really is beginning to take shape and as a kitchen is the "heart of a home" you must be beginning to really settle in your new home - have a lovely weekend 🙂

Hearing you utter that phrase Action Stations , bought back memories of my father when my sisters and I were living at home many years ago it was one the things he was always saying , you don’t hear it very often! Kitchen is going to be lovely.
