Me from Ukraine. Yesterday watching football match Ukraine-Scotland. You can proud your guys, promouted to Division A. You national anthem its something perfect. God bless Scotland!
The piper on the roof makes me freak out and goosebumps all throughout. The greatest anthem ever, the best line ever "and sent him homeward tae think again". Greetings from Italy🏴🇮🇹
For me it's "thoses days are past now and in the past they must remain". There's still a little beef between some english and scottish. Hope one day that will stop.
@@templetonparceley8645 lovely country though! My dad is originally from Roccasecca. I remember we went there on holiday and I didn't want to come hope. Your country is so beautiful. Amazing food, amazing scenery and Italian people are so welcoming.
Beautiful isn’t it. I thought I was 1/4 Scottish 3/4 English. My Dad was adopted, and we all presumed he was English. My Scottish part I knew of came from my mum’s side when her Dad met her Mum up in Scotland during WW2 when he was a Flight sergeant/rear gunner in the Lancaster Bomber, and she was an usherette at a cinema. We bought an Ancestry test and it turned out he’s mostly Scottish and Irish. I’m an Englishman who has always lived in England and been a proud Englishman even though us English are classed as racists by the radical left even though the vast majority of proud English are far from that. I have very close family members that also have genes connected to every continent on earth, minus Antarctica of course, and I hate racism. I lost my job for standing up to a racist. Anyway, I’m 50% Scottish, 25% Irish, and 25% English and Western European. My ancestral roots (Communities on Ancestry) are the Highlands of Scotland, and the Western Islands of Scotland. I even had another ancestral root (community) so that made it two; I’m the only person I know out of about 20 people to have two communities. That other ‘root’ is Northern Ireland and the lowlands of Scotland. I’m not even a quarter English because of the Western European added to that. I’m still a proud Englishman though. I’ve been looking through much of Scottish history and so on, as well as music and I have learnt Scotland have produced some of the best minds this world has ever seen; James Maxwell for instance, one of the greatest Scientists known to man. He’s definitely in the top 5 in my opinion. The industrial revolution and the modern way of life we know today wouldn’t be here if Scotland wasn’t here. At the end of day I may be a proud Englishman, but above that, well above that, is that I’m a human that belongs to the human race. This is a beautiful song!
Listen to the words. It's a song about beating the English in a battle 700 years ago or whenever it was. Christ if we had an anthem like that I'd be embarrassed. Haven't they achieved anything else to sing about in all that time? Thinking about it, maybe not.
@@casperwallace9685 I read his message in the family guy steriotyoe British voice, and ended uo feeling sorry for him. Reading it without that I now can see how much if a douche he is. What has England achieved recently apart from creating a fascist regime, fucking the countries they "protect", suppressing voters and conspiring against scotish independence party's. The list could go on.
I was a part of the flag detail for the French flag at Murrayfield with the Air Cadets - there was nothing like being on the pitch for the national anthems and although the French were outnumbered 3:1 in the stadium, I've never heard a national anthem sung so proudly - they were twice as loud as the home crowd and that's saying something.
@@slap_A_flamingo Many thanks, I was in Vancouver, Canada, a couple of years back, a lone piper was playing, so I asked him to play "O flower of Scotland", unfortunately he didn't know it, next best, "Scotland the Brave". I tell you what, if it gives a simple Welshman a lump in his throat, can't imagine what it does for the Scots. That piper was amazing. Yr Alban am byth. Scotland forever.
@@drewwilliams6888 yes I know what you mean brother. Personally it gives me a feeling of pride. I always admired the Welsh. They're always really nice and polite to everyone. Great people. Scotland forever 🏴
I spent 10 years down under and you've turned into a fucking clown show the past few years. Why for the love of Odin has no one taken that prick Andrews out down in Victoria?!!!
Im scottish and will probably come across as bias, but i truly believe we have the best national anthem in the world. Goosebumps everytime the bagpipes stop and the fans continue singing 😊
O Flower of Scotland, When will we see Your likes again, That fought and died for, Your wee bit Hill and Glen, And stood against them, Proud Edward's Army, And sent them homeward, Tae think again. Those days are past now, And in the past they must remain, But we can still rise now, And be a nation again, That stood against them, Proud Edward's Army, And sent them homeward, Tae think again.
Shes become a bit of a mascot: at every 6 nations home game, takes pics with the players after and gets shown on camera during most renditions of Flower of Scotland...
O Flower of Scotland, When will we see Your likes again, That fought and died for, Your wee bit Hill and Glen, And stood against them, Proud Edward's Army, And sent them homeward, Tae think again. The Hills are bare now, And Autumn leaves lie thick and still, O'er land that is lost now, Which those so dearly held, That stood against them, Proud Edward's Army, And sent them homeward, Tae think again.
To ""Oor Lizzie" a dram n lest we don't toast yir retirement..gosh, long overdue, Happy, loving tidings a guid lass, whom deserves slippers n a walking stick, and dignity,🏴🦉
It always makes my Scottish-American heart swell with pride. If this was a Scotland/England match, someone must have been fired for unfurling the French flag on the field.
Ginnie kidman they shout ""and stood against them ((England ))proud Edwards army and sent them hame tae think again"" so their you have it ma'am that's what they chant or maybe you know that now all the same ma'am from a proud Scot .
They shout "against who". And stood against him AGAINST WHO Proud Edwards army WANKERS (general insult but usually wankers). They don't shout England, not do the shout who's that. It's more audible at football games.
@@williamdmason9375 Sorry to inform you William, us English never sign about Scotland. You're that insignificant to us. Hurry up and get that independence will you. And if you're lucky, we might invade again one day. From a proud Englishman.
