@@tbmdd i may be illiterate, but i know enough to deduce that you're a stupid fuck that wants attention, go take your PhD in literature and teach some elementary school kids
This video isn’t in normal speed! If you see the slow corners, you should register that this car faster than a Formula 1 car, which is impossible for a car like that
@@joelmesch3628 when you're that low to the ground it really feels fast and the road is also narrow. It's not edited whatsoever. Formula 1 car is still much faster tho.
Really ? The only thing this reminds me is of senna's Monaco onboard and gets me wistfully thinking about todays onboard cams which looks like those over cgi'd movie scenes
Thing is that they're not stabilized! F1 cameras don't have OIS, are pretty much one with the chassis and purposefully use a shutter speed tuned to not let the engine vibrations interfere. As long as the car's stable, the footage is stable. No stabilization required. All the jello effect you see here is a mix of OIS that with all the vibrations wobbles the lens around, very fast shutter speed that again with the high frequency vibrations makes for a jelloy experience, and the camera mount that shakes a bit with the weight of the camera.
Why the hell not. "These bike racks are just ASKING to be knocked over" The damn things are eye-catching - "now why would they put such inviting 'guard rails' here - I'm gonna find out" Lots of reasons to plow right into them. "This is an FIA-sanctioned event, right? And they're all about safety? I'm gonna teach them boys a lesson" "Okay, poorly-positioned cow-catchers just off to the left here. This calls for bold action." type of deal. .
Yep me too.. straight left front tire snag into the rack, instant broken suspension and embarrassing road blockage for the rest of the cars.. race over.
It's close..I'd love to do it, but only with a guarantee of nothing happening to me. A reset button per se! Unfortunately not an option. Isle of Man TT is even crazier at times. Flirting with the ultimate adrenaline dump & serious injury or death.
A retired Senna wouldnt win shit nowadays 😂 come on guys just because he's a dead legend (RIP) doesnt mean he's some kind of magic pro. Do you honestly think some 59 year old would be competitive in F1? 🤡
@@zoom3it172 It's just not fair to compare. Same with Diego Maradona and football nowadays. Yes they're legends but back in the day it was also impossible to stay consistently good as has been happening recently in more and more sports. So no, Senna wouldn't be able to compete in the current F1 races, although we cannot say for sure who is a better driver, LH or Senna. Don't be a dumbass yourself please.
@@rma2971 you’re not racing pikes peak with open wheel racers pulling massive Gs like this and when you do run off pikes peak so long as the drop isn’t severe you’re probably going to live. This guy hits a concrete wall at 160mph and it’s fatal 99% of the time.
i was wondering how much more torque is necessary for this kind of sport compared to other motorsports due to the insane amount of downforce these vehicles have, along with the steep incline it tears up!
There is sth wrong with the editing or the camera, maybe how it is fixed to the car, that is why it looks so extrem. Even the rollout part looks high speed, even tho it is rly slow. IMO the cam is smiply not fixated enough, so it shakes and make it look like fast forward.
@@lettucelettucelettuce dont teach him to spell. Eventually he will create a hilarious meme from his poor spelling and we will all get a good laugh. Haha
What the driver sees is different from the video. The camera doesn't compensate for the vibrations as well as your eyes do. Still, that part is pretty fast and scary to look at :D
Not really. This is driving, not racing. Racing implies competing against other drivers on the same track in the same race. So "pure racing" is what you get from normal FIA formula1 events.
@@keyboardwarrior2418 My friend, this is the biggest event in Hillclimbing racing ever made, once every 2 years, involving the best riders from all the European Nations, and yes, you're competing against other people in your category and inside an overall classification also, so I really don't understand what: "Racing implies competing against other drivers on the same track in the same race." should mean. I understood that YT has spammed this inside everyone home, but if you don't know much about this sport you can also consider to not make comment about.
@@Thwarptide So you are saying that an F1 qualifying isn't proper racing because you're just setting times ahah Or even the whole RALLY world, because even WRC is just time trial. Man, I think this is one of the dumbest things I ever read on the internet. Just, seriously, think before writing those things. YOU ARE COMPETING AGAINST OTHER PEOPLE, you are fighting by using you max ability to go fast and the goal is to go fastest than the others, isn't just you vs the time, there isn't a pre-setted time goal, you need to be the fastest of all others to be the number one. Is another form of competition, which is on the same level to do a surpassing standard race. Just different jobs that make the driver use his ability to overcome them.
When the whee turns at 2:38, you can see the car just snap into the corner. Warm slicks, light car, perfect set up, perfect cornering. Transcendental to watch my friend…bravo…bravo
Low center of gravity that comes from the driver's brass testicles works in tandem with downforce, significantly improves the car's handling through the corners.
i did a bike ride in the LA area that took riders from essentially sea level to 8.5k feet in ONE ride (total mileage = 100 miles). start out at 8AM and finish sometime before sundown. the first 40 miles (except for the first 3 miles) are UP. not an 8 % gain but enough to kick your %ss. the phrase SLOW GRIND comes to mind. watching this video is incredible and clearly demonstates both the incredible power of the cars and skill of the drivers. wow......
The car is probably geared to a max of around 160mph as the on the British Hillclimb Championship courses that it was designed for this is the maximum speed you'll be able to attain (at Shelsey Walsh, the oldest and fastest hill in the Championship). The masters is a one off but if you prepared the car specifically for the masters it would go even quicker!
The reaction time you need to be able to hit these corners perfectly is insane. Props to all the drivers out there who risk their necks for our entertainment.
The last thing they're doing this for is our entertainment. If you don't have a passion for motorsport, you don't race. Now the folks that do stunts (and sometimes wreck their cars) so they can post on youtube or IG, they are doing it for our entertainment and views.
Boa noite !!!! Nunca me canso de assistir esse vídeo. Absolutamente fantástico. Obrigado por nos levar de carona pra curtir essa velocidade. Obrigado pelo vídeo e parabéns pelo canal. Abraço do Brasil.......
The way this machine accelerates would make my eyes bleed! Well done Scott, I've watched it about 6 times consecutively and think its one of the best videos I have watched on RU-vid lately. Amazing machine, jockey and skills to be able to push that hard and keep it on the road! Awesome hill climb by the way too, you can really get the hammer down properly on this hill climb compared to Shelsey👌👍😎
The guy who won the Gold had intimate knowledge of the course and a Zyzek Sportscar which is far more suited to this format of hillclimbing, this was Scott Moran's first weekend on this hill in a car that is optimised around much tighter courses that are far shorter (as typically run in the British Hillclimb Championship).
I like the design of that race. Looks very professionally organized in every respect. Those volunteers must be top notch. The drivers must be very comfortable racing there.
Imagine how well trained you should be to withstand the acceleration tru corners and how far you should see the roadway and perform all kinda of calculations in the mind in just less than 1 second maybe!!! Respect sir!!
@@DarkSpice84 it was only due to him accelerating Those tires have so much grip and the body itself weights almost nothing Is impossible to lose grip in a curve unless u are going on wet surfaces, gravel or sand As long as its dry its not gona happen
Damn...couldn't help but realise that with these narrow roads, any minor wobble at a turn and this guy would be catapulted off the mountain into the houses below or into a rock wall.
@@blueshadow331 if you refer to the first one, I thought he went wide but the outside wall makes the road tighter on the exit, a late apex and he is so early on the throttle 🤤🤤
Everybody talking about the speed and the scenery, meanwhile I literally cannot imagine how they built a suspension that can rotate a car that quickly and accurately. Literally incredible.
It is indeed! The tyres (and I assume pads) are designed to switch on immediately though compared to circuit tyres just so you know. Doesn’t take anything away from the commitment though! The driving is incredible in the hill climb championships.
@@superstar5042 probably but I imagine they don’t want the pressure to overbuild. I didn’t search but I’m sure some person on RU-vid has explained their tire choice lol. I’ll search now. If no reply I’ve got nothing to report
@@superstar5042 kinda sucks. I only got sponsored results. Seems like they do develop tires for the course, which aids in tire temp. Still cool tech. I like SportsCar racing, then NASCAR, then other forms (GT racing is nice af). But hill climbs are amazing. True commitment. Like rally racing.
@@m1- That's actually incorrect. While the ending sentence adverb avoids the end-of-sentence preposition faux pas, the structure of the grammar beforehand is wrong, and it's also missing a comma at the end, given that "randomly" is an out-of-clause observation, hence the pause. The correct way to pose that question is: Who else just received this in their recommended, randomly?
I love this this channel so much. Thank you very much for uploading this video. Every video of yours fills me with madness due to which I also upload such videos on my channel.
The grip around the corners is mental. Imagine driving a high performance car like a GT3 911 and you think you're going superfast but then you get into this thing.
