Los tripulantes de cada carrito se deben acostar horizontalmente lo más posible para evitar la resistencia al aire y obtener la mayor velocidad. A mayor velocidad es más importante este hecho.

All that rocking backwards and forwards is not going to do anything unless the kart is pretty well at a dead stop when it might overcome static friction. When the individual rocks back, it will accelerate the kart forwards because of the reaction force (which will be forwards) , but when the individual has, inevitably, to rock forwards again, the effect is reversed. It applies a backwards reaction force to the vehicle which will cancel out the advantage gained in rocking back. It would be much better to concentrate on the most aerodynamic position for the pair to minimise aerodynamic drag,along with optimising the kart for that and rolling resistance Nb. For those that might want to raise it, no, this is nothing like the action on a swing, where there is a fixed pivot and the action changes the centre of mass. There it's an indirect use of the law of angular momentum that is being used, although the pumping motion does, of course put energy into thr whole system. With those carts, there is no fixed position to act against as they are free-wheeling. It would require some sort of mechanical connection to the wheels for there to be a net force from the occupants. Pedals perhaps...

@@sammorales3528 Pretty much does nothing at all. You can use that to get a little speed when standing still, but at any relevant speed it's absolutely useless. But seems to be something that everybody does because everybody does it. ;) Ducking out of the wind OTOH can yield 1-5% over the whole race which can be the difference between #1 and #10.

El título del vídeo no debería decir: Coches de Madera, sino: Coches de Metal propulsados por el navegante y su piloto... ¡Felicitaciones!! Al caballero que está parado en la calle al final de la carrera, creo que deberían sancionarlo por imprudente...
@@edwinlopez2076 quizas los primeros coches cuando se fundo esta disciplina si eran hechos en madera, y con la evolucion y los años que han pasado los cambiaron a metal.
