What a 48 hours. The transfer window deadline day followed by the Wigan match day!! Our best signing this summer was Chris Davies. I love how passionate he is to go along with his professionalism, dedication, coaching skills and his man management. The man seems to have it all. He gives the players the belief and the confidence to play and to carry on playing the way he wants us to, even when we make mistakes. With regards to the players. Leonard is the most important cog in the midfield wheel. He has such a high football IQ, and he controls and dictates the play. He uses the ball incredibly well, and he has the physicality and technique to win the ball back. I love his partnership with Paik. They're both really calm and composed in possession. I felt for Harris out on the right. He seemed lost at times, and it was the right call to bring him off and as early into the second half as that change was made. I think we will all agree that Klara was the motm. He was absolutely OUTSTANDING both in his defensive duties and his play going forward. What an assist! Well done to the lino on the May goal, and well done to May who timed his run beautifully and like you said, it was a sure thing that he was going to score. What a bargain of a signing. I loved how much Cochrane ran with the ball, i said after the Reading game that was something that i wanted to see and he was so effective in doing so. Dykes is a proper handfull, he did exactly what we needed him to do and he offers us something very different to May but what they both have in common is their respective work rate. What a debut from Scott Wright. He took his goal incredibly well. What a great way to welcome yourself to your new club. It was just like Stansfield last season against Plymouth. Unbelievable scenes/limbs and that was the result of all our efforts and belief despite the fact that it wasn't our best performance. We got the job done and 3 points in the bag. What i love is the connection between the manager, team and fans. How we all stuck together to get the win. To the small number of fans that left the game early. Never, never, never, ever, ever, ever leave a game early. KRO!!!! Even before his error Peacock-Farrell isn’t my number one. It was a shocker of a mistake but again the team stuck together and the fans didn’t get on his back. I want to see Allsop given a run in the starting lineup. It's mad and crazy to think that we have Stansfield to come into the team. I look forward to the Stansfield video. I loved the Wagner video to reveal the signing of Stansfield 😁 What a statement of intent to get that deal across the line. What a signing!!!!! It's an amazing time to be a Blues fan and all those opposing teams fans, either dont know or seem to have forgotten how awful it has been, so we're absolutely going to enjoy every minute of what's happening. And also what set of fans wouldn't celebrate like we did. Absolute nonsense!!! What a squad we have. Chris Davies definitely has a lovely problem to pick the squad in the first instance and then the mouth watering prospec of the starting 11. The prospect of May and Stansfield in the same team is exciting for us and frightening for the opposition. I will be interesting to see how they line up. Stansfield on the left or in the 10 with him and May changing as May does like to drop deeper at times, but as we saw for his goal, he's brilliant at making perfectly timed runs off the last defenders shoulder or in-between the gaps. Finally, it was fantastic to see Tony Mowbray back at St Andrews and looking so fit and well. Brilliant video analysis as always. 2- 1 ..... one of you got the score prediction right!!! KRO 💙

going down was maybe a blessing in disguise,simply because of the ffp rules,we have been able to spend and build a better squad ,than we would have if we stayed up.
Stansfield played on the left against us, cut inside on his right foot which is his major strength shifting on his right. I’d imagine he’d play on left & Wright on the right after scoring the winner.

Saturday was our first game in years, firstly agree 100% with the atmosphere particularly pre match first time in 40+ years where I felt valued as a fan and because of that (and not to be the odd one out I bought a shirt!) decent food and drink offerings fairly priced with real courteous and friendly service. We were in the main stand and even round that side of the ground there were plenty of options and will be even better when the fan zone is open, opening up the stand at half time is a little thing but makes a massive difference and again made my support feel valued. Over the years I have had to play down being a Blues fan and even justify it and as anyone 50+ will know football was not fashionable and would definitely not be on your CV, but now I am shouting about it down here in the South West

Another mad weekend! Lots of positives all around from Tony to Jay to Tom Wagner and 3 points against a non footballing side that tried to cheat a point out of us! ill say it again, Klarer is an absolute beast! So good on the ball, great defending and a back heel assist 😂😂😂. Great performance by all however Bailey needs to do better with their goal. Could have cost us two points. The thing is, all the teams we play, its like they are playing their cup final. I wonder how Wigan would celebrate if they got an injury time winner. You can taste the salt
Anyone else remember the Wrexham, Watering hole, the Vic, Brewer and baker and all the other pubs around the ground sadly gone. They used to start filling up from midday onwards for a 3pm ko. I think the fanzone has bought back that match day experience that those pubs used to give us.

Hi lads great job as always. it takes time for a new team to gel no matter how much money you spend so 10 points from 12 absolutely brilliant. we have scraped over the line admittedly but I'll tell you what in the coming weeks we'll start winning games quite comfortably. our fans deserve this .our neighbours from across the city can complain as much as they like .I truly believe this is the starting point of greatness for our club kro
The reason wigan burned their subs is because we ran them ragged. As the seaon goes on we are going to see theis more with teams as our fitness is incedible. Fans are also saying is standfield worth what we paid for him, i say every penny. May, stansfield and dyke attacking is frightening.

I've been looking at Wrexham's games they concede possession and hit on the break, it will be interesting to see how blues set up for a team who play like that.

Caveat that I've only seen highlights. What impressed me most was the hustle and energy off the ball, which corresponds with what you said about the fight in the team. At one point Alfie may was back defending, which says something imho. It's good to see. If I had one criticism is that the delivery into the box could be better. Re choices, Chris Davies is excellent tactically. He will be looking at the opposition players, and picking to suit, then also focussing on powering through in the latter parts of the game.

I normally watch the match on the opponents TV as l like their views but l have to say the Wigan commentry was appauling. Lots of nasty comments towards Birmingham. Considering he didn't give us a lot of the fouls in the second half, Wigan still had 22 fouls against our 7, i don't mind a passionate team but the time wasting should have had a few players booked.

I think stanno on the right or left, for me last season I felt overall in the game he was more effective on the wings. As a lone striker he didnt get much service so hard to say. So him on the right will be perfect imo. Him and May are gona destroy this league

I think Hansson, Yokoyama & Wright are wingers (Donovan probably should have been kept in the squad being our only wide naturally left footed player)... That said then, I don't particularly agree with wanting to see Stansfield out wide. The above are all faster with a bit of trickery to beat a full back (inside or outside). For me Jay should play through the middle and we should be rotating him in the 9,10 or CAM position with May and Willumson. I don't like playing out and out goalscorers on the wing...Walcott started as a CF and got pushed out wide, Rashford the same...play your goalscorers through the middle and keep them in front of the white sticks. When Laird plays he plays much higher and wider than Cochrane which is why you can play someone like Keshi or Harris who will drift inside and leave him room, whereas on the left Cochrane tucks in a little and leaves his winger to crack on, presumably so that Laird can stay high and not leave the X2 CB's short. This is then a purposefully 'unbalanced' set up that is actually designed to work in this way. I'd much prefer Laird and Cochrane to both get high and wide (especially if we have a double pivot to cope in transition when we lose possessoon) and see Hansson wide left and Yokoyama wide right stepping inside to get closer to May and Willumson with the real width coming from the X2 full backs, OR going on the outside and allowing the full backs to underlap. All goalies make mistakes in all divisions, aint his first and wont be the last. I thought Wigan gave it a right go, i didnt admire the time wasting aspect of it, but ive seen us do similar in the past tbh. Mind you, they was absolutely gutted when the winner went in, they thought theyd pulled it off. (And i did) 😂😂
Thought TGH, was brilliant in the first half as were most of the team. Wigan putting Sessegnon in midfield in the 2nd half turned it in their favour. I would’ve liked us to have worked it out on the pitch instead of CD making changes. Leonard done well but by the time he came on he was going up against Wigan youth team players. Not belittling his performance I’m merely pointing out the facts. I want to see us dominate games for the entirety of the game. Klarer my motm.

I think we have to realise every team in league 1 will waste time or ruin our fluid game. If you look at the games against WBA and Fulham.. our play is suited for championship and above. I'll take another 30 odd 1-0 wins to get out this scrappy league! KRO

I'm glad you guys are in the league.. we can fly under the radar and not be the most hated and jealous of team anymore.. probably 2nd place there now :) I remember when we spent a record 300000 on Ollie Palmer in the National league and the stick we got for it(Ie: Hollywood FC bought the league). Our transfer window was pocket change this year compared to yours even though it was a record for us. But enjoy it guys.. good owners spend money and put their efforts in towards the betterment of the club and community.. bad owners take from the community and let the club fall to dust. Anyone who know our history will know that we have suffered from poor ownership over the years, our stadium was falling to pieces and we were a club in steep decline. Our new owners have changed all that and we are enjoying the journey we are now on. We are not playing anywhere near our best at the moment as we adjust to 17 new players in the squad but we will get much much better as the season goes on. I think you will be playing us at exactly the right time and we are expecting a tough game against Wrexham. I criticised the blues fans for booing at the last league home game against Reading,but i must say they were brilliant on Saturday they got right behind the team it was such a great atmosphere kro.

I think the way we play now, hickman started to avoid burnout for lenard, game changed lenard back on, also may and stansfield start less running for may also burnout

So I feel a bit conflicted - I really am enjoying being a blues fan at the minute and I really do believe that things are moving in the right direction. However I'm not 100% convinced atm. We are conceding too many goals imo, I never feel confident when a team is coming at us. Going forward we dont create that many chances either. For all the money we have spent if we do not win this league. We should be performing better imo too and I don't see us absolutely dominating teams that we really should be. Ps i do love this new set up, owners and attitude. I am a big fan of CD and the team his built but there are still things I think need addressing

10 points from the first 4 games. 17 new players in. The team everyone wants to beat. We're very much a work in progress. As the weeks go on, we'll get better and better and the improvement will be amazing to watch and frightening for opposing teams. I think that even the most pessimistic fans (no offence 😁) will soon start to move into the space of feeling optimistic and as the season goes on, fulled with nothing but confidence. Dare to believe.
