Mine too I was literally reading everything because I felt I needed to to get the full story and to find out all the mysteries going on in the universe at that time and the books were good reads. Rebirth also put out one of my favorite books if not my favorite book of all time Doomsday clock
What I loved about rebirth and the latter part of new 52 was that they released trade paper backs first before big hard cover editions. It made trade sitting and catching up easier on other titles that weren’t in your pull easier. 😊
I do like the idea of Absolute Comics. Marvel’s Ultimate line has been a major success and as someone who now reads month to month Ultimate Spider-Man because of it I would love to see this. If Absolute takes the same page from Ultimate Spider-Man then this will work. What I mean by this is a re-imagining which alters parts of the origin and dynamic but still has the core of the character and feels like someone you know despite being fresh and new
Except 616 Marvel is incredibly uninteresting these days. And Marvel’s never-ending continuity is growing so tired. So Ultimate is a breath of fresh air. DC doesn’t have this problem. With Dawn of DC, they have finally been focused for the first time since pre-New52. There’s finally a direction. Why distract from that with a new initiative?
One of my favorite Krakoan moments was in Marauders when Kitty finally got her hands on Shaw and there's a page with Herman walking by a building and you see Shaw drop to the ground out of a window, then Kitty dragging him back in and then Herm just keeps on walking.
Bit late to the party on this stream, but I just wanted to share some creative teams/books I'd like to see as part of the Absolute DC Initiative: - Absolute Batman and Robin (Dan Watters/Dan Mora) - Absolute Superman (Ram V/Greg Smallwood) - Absolute Wonder Woman (N.K. Jemisin/Xermanico) - Absolute Aquaman (Philip Kennedy Johnson/Casper Wijngaard) - Absolute Green Lantern Corps (Al Ewing/Jorge Jimenez) - Absolute Teen Titans (Jadzia Axelrod/Doc Shaner) - Absolute Flash (Kyle Starks/Bruno Redondo)
You think DC will pick a focus like Bryan Michael Bendis did for ultimates, with all heroes coming back to Cap and the new genetics age? I always thought it would have been cool if they had gone with what they were setting up in man of steel, all magic and history leads back to Kryptonian Ancient astronomers. Thoughts?
Although he was briefly replaced by Axl Rose, Brian Johnson (the singer) is back in AC/DC, so by all means get them to do the theme for Absolute comics.
X books have been an adrenaline rush b albeit a bit “rushed” lol was great seeing Apocalypse’ return and also Magneto’s confrontation with his choices and paths and he chooses a totally left field way of fighting and on the edge of my seat for Storm! 😮💨
I don't know if it is mentioned later in the show, but Bleeding Cool's mock-up of "Absolute DC" takes the "Absolute" from the Absolute Power book's logo.
When scott was on your show, i think it was yours at least, he briefly made mention of big things could bring him back to dc, and i took it then, that this was what he was referring to. Now? Even moreso.
I wonder if there’re legal reason they had to respond to what that writer so they’re not held liable or so their covered in terms of their reputation(?), but since it wasn’t that big of a deal their response wasn’t very detailed 🤔
8:55 I don't give a fuck about the inhumans but I wish they didn't make Kamala a mutant because there are so many mutants that just end up as background characters or just playing out not used after their initial story and many people myself included figured that that's going to eventually happen to Kamala after her relevancy in the MCU is done and I'd rather not have that happen
I really hope this absolute DC rumour is just a rumour. When Dawn of DC has been soooo good, why shift focus to a new universe? Just keep giving us good stories in the current one. This isn’t what DC is all about anyway. If DC wants to do stuff in other universes, that’s what Black Label and Elseworlds are for. Give us short minis/maxis with variant continuity. That’s what DC does best. Why do they always try to copy Marvel? DC…just stay in your lane.
I'll say it because nobody else is seeming to despite the good sales. I like what I've read of current TASM okay(which was the beginning and I'm just now getting back into keeping up with ongoings), and I very strongly dislike new USM.
I'm not reading ASM so I can't comment on that, but I am reading USM, and it's the book I look forward to reading the most every month (after that its Wonder Woman and World's Finest). SO YOU'RE WRONG! Nah, just kidding, keep enjoying the books you like, at least we can agree on one thing: Spider-Man is pretty cool!
