Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner talks about wanting to feud with the Rock, his respect to the great one, message to Rock critics, being a fan of mma and more.
It's ridiculous. They're still allowed to hit each other with chairs, choke each other, throw wrestlers into the crowd, etc. But they can't say four letter words because of "the children". LMAO.
Good interview. Scott Steiner was one of the few reasons why I tuned into WCW towards the end. WCW died partially because people like Steiner, Hart, etc., were not pushed enough.
@cleveland clowns suck i was wondering who Steiner was going to feud with after No way out. But like you said, thanks to someone else he no longer was relevant.
I cant think of any wrestler who is more worthy of a 3 disc wwe feature than Scott Steiner that has not been done yet. His early career matches and end of career promos would be so gold.
Yes , The Rock is definitely great one ; within 30 years of his age he achieved everything in WWF/E , within 5 years in wrestling Industry he became all time fans favorite & huge fan following & biggest pops & great attitude , surpassing every one in wrestling Industry , great : The Rock , you are the #greatone ... Scot Steiner , Respect ...
I know he is, he is completely nuts but I love all his interviews, because he always speaks his mind there isnt a dishonest fibre in that mans body , great interview..really one of the best ive seen him do..and ur a great guy too
Loved this interview. This was last year...glad to see Scott doing so great...still looks incredible, too. Was just watching some of his older WCW stuff...good luck keeping him in check back then lol...he was so entertaining!
Imagine Rock telling Scott “It doesn’t matter what you think” Scotty would’ve lost his mind 🤣🤣🤣. Shame we didn’t get that Dream Match. Rock would’ve sold the hell out of Steiners moveset
That was the biggest issue Vince never saw coming. He figured that the, lets say, 3 million WCW loyalists would come over to watch WWF because it was the only game in town. But they didn't. They just stopped watching pro wrestling altogether...and WWE has been bleeding viewers ever since.
@@Gwildor2020 Vince seen the advantages of having rival promotions, thats why he made up the BRANDING in WWE today.... But it cant be home grown... If VINCE had REAL BALLS, he would set up a promotion and stay in the SHADOWS about it. Then when each head of the dragon begins to spit fire at each other it always win-win..... So long as the crowd is kept in the dark about the connecting body under the table, there would appear to be 2 dragons fighting each other..... But he didnt have the BALLS then and dont have em now to do it.....
Jerry Hess Whoa there! Look at it today. TNA will always be TNA. Half-assed and schizophrenic. Love that company but too many awful business and roster decisions along the way and can't find adequate venues and TV providers for their product... EC3 might actually prove to be a great thing for them. We'll see.
PG wrestling can be done right, look at older Chikara events. WWE s biggest problem is the writing staff and favouritism. They start pointless storylines they never let the right people win because money and egos and they care more about merchandise than the wrestling.
Big scotty is a total different person than i thought glad i seen this video always a fan of his but thought of his real personality was much different.like big pappa pump even more now thanks for all the years man best wishes to you brother.
Actually he did. After the interview the interviewer was found ripped apart with baby oil on his face and a cookie in his mouth. Witnesses said they heard someone yelling "Holla if ya hear me!" repeatedly in the pitch black ally of a Bosnian convenient store. The case is on going. :)
I think this interview was really good you know. You know? He asked Scott all the good questions and he like answered them you know. Pretty much covered all the topics you might want to know, you know?
Rick is SPOT ON, when he says that this PG era shit is hard to watch! It IS hard to watch..It has become like a soap opera... PG era pretty much ruined Wrestling!
+Knekten Well said, but the chap at least remembers the Dog Faced Gremlin, which is more than can be said for the current crop of 'Superstars'. So many of them know fuck all about the history of the sport, some are even winners of talent contests etc. PG sucks. And don't get me started on what Vince has done to Womens pro wrestling, Luna Vachon will be spinning in her grave watching that shit.
it was a soap opera back then too. it's just that today, there's not really anybody that could really get you hooked and invested in the storylines now. the last two guys whom fans really were invested into and watched heavily were Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. back then, the storylines were dope and you had guys that really made you buy into them like Rock, Austin, Vince, the nWo, DX, Sting and Goldberg
+aaditya J the Rock would slaughter him on the mic, I'm a Goldberg fan and I didnt even see the "wisker biscuit bald headed b*%ch" line coming and Goldberg cuts promos better than Scott Steiner, he shut Cena down with the "fruity pebbles" line and Cena can cut a good promo (the list goes on).
Good to see Scott in a mellow environment, instead of being as explosive and temperamental as he was. Very underrated athlete, great performer, and still has one of the best finishing maneuvers in wrestling history - the Frankensteiner.
100% agree, if Scott got the proper training he would succeed in mma, I bet most wrestlers who wrestled in Japan would try mma. Imagine Vader in MMA with the proper training.
Scott Steiner is a very talented wrestler, and I always found him pretty amusing on the mic. His catch phrases are more memorable then probably any other wrestlers in history outside of Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Ric Flair, and Macho Man Randy Savage. I have allot of respect for the guy. That said, I never really cared for him. Never been a big fan. However, I love this guys interviews. He is the most honest wrestler I've ever heard. He tells it like it is, and he doesn't give a shit what anyone thinks. It makes me respect him even more then I already did. Hell, I may end up a Steiner fan after all! I disagree with him about the PG thing though, although not completely. There is no denying that WWE sucks these days, and in fact, it has sucked for the past nearly 15 years(although they did have some good stuff on occasion). It's not the fact that it's PG that makes it suck though. WCW has PG back in the late 90's. They were kicking WWF's ass in the ratings, and the WWF was damn near rated R at that time. The problem is that it's just freakin' boring. Too many cookie cutter characters with no edge to them, WAY too heavily scripted, and no real competition pushing them to be better. When Vince Russo went back to WWE very, very briefly back in 2002, he didn't know what the hell was wrong with Vince McMahon. He was a shell of the guy he once knew.
on the fence about being a Steiner fan watch him and his brothers old Japan tag matches. Best work of his career. Love steiners. /watch?v=zH3zZGpsFNc /watch?v=Ovvsp98fleI
Wow after watching this interview I have even more respect for Scott Steiner. He is the first former wrestler to criticize the WWE and it going pg. He's right the superstars get hired and forced to take part in these pathetic storylines and gimmicks and dumb skits. The WWE was a legit reality show that was politically correct and NOT pg. They had guys that looked like athletes now they have little bearded twigs like Daniel Bryan. This is all idiot Vince McMahon's fault, he is a pg rated SELLOUT!!!!
Christian Love He is a little bearded twig and his head is bigger than his whole body, if guys like Scott Steiner were still around he would be some idiot in the crowd cheering for him. Does it make sense for him to go up against guys who would crush him in a real fight?
matthew stephen Lmafo dude do you even know bryan can kick most of those guys ass? His head big than his body Is that a joke? You probably just Now watching wwe again. Bryan wouldn't even cheer for Scott steiner
Great interview i think with mutual respect. Scotty seemed to like you, being really calm and chuckling here and there. Well done. Greetings from germany.
It's a shame Vince didn't want to utilize WCW better he should've kept that company in tact by keeping the talented guys that wanted the company to thrive at the same time getting rid of the WCW click.
+JL Vince is a psychopath and took the fact that they tried to compete with him so personally that he got satisfaction by destroying them all when he had the chance. Psychopaths hold a grunge for ever and always look to get revenge even years and years later.
+ron sae That's a bit of a reach. There's no reason Vince had to push the newly acquired WCW guys anyway. He had his own brand of superstars - The Rock, Austin, HHH, Taker, Kane, Angle, etc.
+Kieran Emery oh there was a reason. Money. Think of it at the time. Taker V sting Austin V hogan Rock V Steiner If all the top guys came over during the alliance Vince would of been swimming in money
@@kizwiz6 Youre a dumb fucking moron and you cant separate business from entertainment. Learn something about acquisitions, mergers, marketing and brand profitability, Perhaps something about lifetime value. WWE acquired a huge loss by not maintaining WCW just the ways it was. What should I tell a shareholder or business partner if I want to show them profits? No fuck you, I dont want you to see any returns on your investment?
The Rock actually IS the best ever. Not just because of the transition, but because he was tops on the stick (you're counterarguments will fail) AND a great worker (again, your counterarguments will fail). Was he Bret Hart? No. But he was was damn close. And he could talk and DRAW. Bottom line. The only person who has a legitimate claim challenge is Stone Cold. Period.
jason666king I love The Rock, he was one of the best players from 2000 and on. But the Big Poppa has buid a solid wrestling credibility since early 90s. He stood up in front of wrestling when wrestling was on top, he helped to build this industry. While The Rock, Stone Cold, Jericho and others were there to mantain it. And that make the Big Poppa one of the greatest wrestlers in the industry. And yes, a feud between them would be HEAVEN. I mean, I can´t imagine a promo with those guys without LMFAO.
jason666king Craziest part is yeah he debuted in '96 but he was done and retired at 30. He did everything. He fought against the biggest stars of the business. He doesn't owe the fans anything anymore -- it's a simple act of charity and love for him to return when he does. It's crazy think he was done when he was just 30.
CometVS Uh... I agree but let's be serious here. Acts of charity cannot be mentionned when craploads of money are involved. Yes. He is obviously a businessman who's actually out for himself and I'm okay with that. But those sporadic appearances in WWE most be costly. I doubt he is doing any charity.
most guys have to take their natural personality and turn it to 11 for a wrestling gimmick. Scott Steiner walks around in public turned up to 11. He is his gimmick.
God I'd have loved a Rock vs Steiner feud. 2 intense and hilarious personalities butting heads is what pro wrestling is all about, and who has a crazier personality than the big booty daddy? Huge missed opportunity.
+Otto Andersson they've always said they follow the times for music and style etc. when trump becomes president political correctness will die and wwe will go along with the new trends.
Whoever President is has nothing to do with Wrestling. Although Scott Steiner is the wrestling version of Donald Trump he just always got on the mic & said how he felt. In December 2000 he said Diamond Dallas Page needs to go get a sex change.
Love Scott and Rick Steiner!! Saw them at a high school in Syracuse. Made Scott laugh by saying loved him on Family Feud!! Total inspiration!!! Total truth on Vince and wwe!!
Scott Steiner vs The Rock would've been great for the promos alone. if wwe really wanted to make money first they should've called up the lawyer and told him get ready we might be in court soon no wondering what might be said but let Scott Steiner and The Rock do a shoot promo on each other for 5-10 minutes and end up with a pull apart brawl 1,000,000 buys right there.
+stndrds79 Not necessarily. They are known as filler words or filler phrases and they are commonly used by people who need a second to think or clearly articulate what they're saying. They could be incredibly literate but may be poor speakers due to their excessive use of fillers.
Here's what I took away from this: Steiner is unaware that his best work was in a PG environment, which WCW was, and it was how he 'stood out' when he started copying everything Superstar Graham did.
Okay you're a Scott Steiner fan, wonderful, doesn't change my opinion that he's a clone of Superstar Graham or that his best work was in a PG environment. It's a shame he left money on the table by refusing to become the NWA Champion back in think it was 91 or 92, no telling just how huge he really would've become
***** You're an idiot, nWoWolfpack just took the time to explain a shitload of differences and you just completely disregarded it...what an ignorant little shit you are. I hope that isn't a picture of you in that avatar of yours....you look like you pack a LOT of fudge.
