Ok, PAY ATTENTION clemson fans...he's not talking about you. He's talking about LSU. ONLY LSU, because only in Baton Rouge on Saturday night can Scott van Pelt or ANYONE ELSE find an environment like what he experienced that night. Only LSU. ALL. LSU. This IS Baton Rouge on Saturday night. This IS college football.
I remember being there. I was 12. Cried like a baby afterwards initially, but as the years go by I realize more and more I was so lucky to be there. Seeing the pregame, seeing the team while the Les Miles era was still at its peak. Seeing a team and a stadium fighting for their season, their pride. And though they came up short it was the best atmosphere I could ever imagine from a football game and an incredible effort from an LSU team
LSU fans are amazing. Never been to Death Valley, but I do plan to go to Knoxville in November when they play Tennessee and find the Tiger fans tailgating and then give those obnoxious UT fans living hell for three hours. As much as I dislike Alabama, I've had to live with Tennessee fans for almost thirty years and they are the most fair weather fans ever. I'll pull for Alabama and Florida before I ever root for Tennessee. Geaux Tigers!
You ain't lyin', podnah! We registered TWICE on the seismograph!! Loved beating Bama!!. There is NO touching that night! And Saban's face at the post game conference. He couldn't believe it. You saw it in his face! Lol!!
This sums it all up. That "Call'in Baton Rouge" video drives them nuts. It's great. Would be nice to find the original rather than a handheld copy of the giant video screen.
Well duh. The place literally shook the ground and registered as an earthquake in the geology dept across campus vs auburn in the late 80s during and right after a td pass from tommy hodson to eddie fuller in the back of the north end zone, lol...it's real, but it's unreal. There's no other place like it. Period.
To bad Tiger Stadium isn’t like that anymore!! Hasn’t been for a long time!! Stadium is empty during Calling Baton Rouge, pre game, National Anthem, ball players running out!! It may start to fill up a bit by the end of the 1st quarter and it’s a guarantee that by the 4th quarter it’s empty again because everyone leaves winning or losing. The only way to keep them there is if it’s a close game by a “big” game or team!! There is no excitement or electricity anymore, not even during Victory Hill. It’s like pulling teeth to get the people pumped up!!! It’s truly sad and so disappointing!!! I miss the good ole days!!
Les Miles ruined the culture. Coach O brought it back. Went to the past Florida game. The energy and culture was as alive as it had ever been. We’re back
