He wasn't loaded!. This must have been one of his 💯 percent sober periods!.. During the 2nd VR album (until his death) he was using and abusing everything but heroin and unfortunately he passed as a result!..
This interview sucked because it wasn't because of Scott but because of the interviewer Craig,,, if this had been Conan O'Brien this would have been hilarious clever and witty😂😂
Damn. Hurts to watch this. The 90s had some of the best voices I've ever heard. Scott. Chris. Layne. Buckley. They're all gone now. Kurt too. Sad to look back at that era but can't deny the high volume of artistry in the 90s decade.
It's impossible when you're rich,,,,,you've had it all, the girls, vacations, fine wines, etc etc. Those are not what the body Needs. What our soul craves we will not find physically in this world. So, once you've maxed out everything there is to do as a rich man, life is boring,,,soo, youuu,,,run for president? ( good ol Donald), or Actually Still being a humble soul, start self-destruction without even thinking about it, because in the end, you'll have nothing, having given up the only thing that Matters, your soul, cheaply. The saddest thing is, People of Enormous talent, like Scott, need not have given Anything to do as they aspired; Hollywood just shoots you straight to the top, and noone has patience,,,It's very sad
literally me every time i watch scott perform or speak or even read his book. like i dont mean rockstar like the generic arrogant mess but like he embodies everything performance art and music has to offer i cant even stand it
Never seen this interview.....but man Scott seemed in a good place and man I wish he could have stayed there....miss you Scott R.I.P. you will never be replaced....
Raquel Edwards is in the heavens looking at us and like another angel protecting us and guiding us good way and he in peace this heaven with God and his friend STP guitarist will always be unique I will achieve my dreaming dreams and give better tribute my greatest guardian angel protect from heaven happy that you I will give my great voice similar to that of him for the gift that God gave me, gram voice, rock inside a girl I will give the best 💕🎸
It's sad to have that knowledge that right around this time, Scott Weiland was sober for a good six months, his mind was clear, he was putting on his best shows. His life was looking good, but it didn't take long....
October 27 is his birthday, he will always be the Jim Morrison of our time in the 90s. Rip Scott. Even in my last days, I will pick a flower, hold my breath, and drift away with you. 🎂🥃💜🌻
Best musician ever. My favorite of all time wether he was with stp velvet revolver or his solo music or Scott weiland and the wildabouts he deserves to be in the hall of fame
Eric Hiscock God I wish he would have lived, along with Cornell! I was getting into the Wildabouts and just discovered Art of Anarchy! Was even hoping a VR reunion would eventually happen!
Scott looked great here. Such a huge loss to his family, friends, fans, and the music world. Was fortunate to have seen him perform multiple times in STP and VR.
Love and miss Scott so much. Such a cool interview. Good to see him in this happy place. Witty, interesting, engaging. Hope to see him again someday ❤️
He reminds me of my grandpa Scott. Not long before weiland died, I called my old man. He picked up the phone but was too weak to answer. I told him I'd call him tomorrow. The next day, I got word he was gone. I'm just glad I got to talk Jesus with him. Both guys have a place in my heart.
Lately I've been watching some of their videos - "Days of the Week", "Interstate Love Song", and "Sex Type Thing", to name a few - and I have to actively remind myself that I can't rationalize lusting after a man who's been dead for five years this December. As I watch Weiland sing "Sex Type Thing" ("I am, I am, I am, I said I wanna get next to you/ I said I'm gonna get close to you"), subconsciously I think he's singing to me.
Scott had that rock n roll glow very few have. You know when a lead singer is trying too hard to be cool and trying to wear it, but when Weiland entered the room you nodded your head and said he has got it... Great front man.
You'd think that he would have been smart enough to have a prenuptial agreement after the first marriage. Regardless, that money being spent on his children beats it being spent on heroin, cocaine and who knows what other drugs.
@@sarcasticallyrearranged he was a romantic..wish he had married jaime instead of mary, who was much better person and good for him, mary was a shallow materialistic narcissist...I'm sure his kids would have preferred having a father alive than him being forced to tour for his ex's $$$ when he was ill and needed treatment and rest...he needed to be home with Jaime and his dogs and heal...Mary was hooked up with a rich man but had to screw it to Scott out of petty spite..if she thought of their kids, she wouldn't have forced him to tour ill , he even said it was bad for his sobriety..she didn't have to tour when she got clean, she was doing drugs with him also but had the luxury to get clean bc she didn't have to tour
Holy shit!!! He looks happy!!! I've NEVER SEEN HIM HAPPY!!! It's 4am, I'm happier than a pig in shit! So good seeing him happy, laughing, charismatic, omg BEST INTERVIEW EVER!!!!
It's interesting how dark and growly Scott's voice is on the STP records, yet how calm and even it was in real life. Such a talent. I love his earrings, they give his "spiffy" look here a pop of rebellion. Rock on forever, Scott!
“She was a sour girl” And he asks the legend is it him or her sour?Dick man what a privilege just to sit with one of the best vocalists and performing artist of all time. 🙏R.I.P. Scott... I hope you found your judge and the one you trust💜
Mark Lanegan too, most people don't realize or maybe recognize his major participation in the Seattle scene, he's been both prolific and pervasive with his performing in some of the most influential grunge acts from the beginning.
i love and miss him tremendously.. i didn't know of him before his death or even at the time, but i've spent so long these past couple of years listening to his music, watching interviews, etc. and each day that goes by just seems to hurt more and more. it was a terribly painful loss. i know he struggled majorly with addiction throughout his life but you never give up hope on people, and there's such a big part of you hoping and praying that they'll realise they can make it through the suffering some day. i don't know where i'm going with this but i'm just eternally grateful that he ever existed, and that i am alive and have the opportunity to appreciate his art and all that he was in his short time here. rest in peace, scott. this is possibly my favourite interview and i hope at least that here you were truly happy. you're my biggest inspiration, i'll always admire you and take time in my life to treasure your music. until next time.
It's a miracle Weiland made the gig. Greatest front man of his generation. As a recovering addict I can say the only difference between he and I is that he could afford more and better drugs. It's a dead end either way. Scott knew that. Once his heroin addiction started to ramp up he said to himself "your life is fucked." And it was.
Yeah it gets a hook in ya that's almost impossible to yank out without tearing out your heart and soul. But I somehow did it and have wicked survivor guilt that Scott did not.
HE WAS A GREAT MUSICIAN AND HE FELL DOWN HARD AND BATTLED HIS ADDICTIONS BUT IT IS REALLY SAD AND MAKES ME MAD THAT HE DIED ALONE IN THE BACK OF HIS TOURING BAND BUS - REALLY SAD - HE DESERVES SO MUCH MORE CREDIT AND IT WAS LIKE NO ONE CARED WHEN HE DIED, NO ONE - PATHETIC- HE WAS A ROCK STAR!
@@JoeMilllionaire I was never a sports guy but I loved Kilbourne and his shtick with this show! The whole aging waspy, frat boy, lounge era thing was pretty cool and kind of original. He was kind of trying to bring back a dignified Carson style talk show with Letterman's dryness but without the absurdness. The thing about Kilbourne is if he had a starlet on he would casually flirt with her and you would be thinking, I'll bet he can get her into bed in ten minutes. Fuergeson was even better and defenitley more absurdly comical. Then Corden, ughhh, Carpool Karaoke!!! All he is trying to do is cheaply appeal to a younger, generation who is growing up with social media and horrendously bad pop music! He really doesn't have anything personality wise to bring to the table. The show is unwatchable. I knew it was going to be bad the minute I saw a beer logo in the background of the set on the first episode. That was just a red flag!
Scott had his problems but his talent was immeasurable! So much talent, fucking superstars we lost in the last few years. My middle age sucks man! He didn't seem to be the most content person at times from most of the interviews I've seen but this is one of the better ones that showed he had a charisma to him! RIP Weiland! Also, as far as I'm concerned when Fuergeson left CBS late night, in the toilet! He and Kilbourne, who also exited that position to soon, ruled that spot! Corden is terrible! That Carpool Karaoke garbage. Bad pop songs being song by bad artists or actual artists singing terrible pop songs! Seth Meyers, he's just a writer who got lucky! Late Night talk from 1130 on is just, SUCKKSSS now!!! Am I alone in my opinion on this or what?
This dude commanded the stage. He may be a top 100 rock singer of all time… but if you ever saw STP live (especially in the Purple/Tiny Music era) you know he was top 5 frontman all time. Can’t teach that at Juliard, and you don’t get that when a higher power blesses you with perfect pitch. His death selfishly hurt me. Thankfully we still have the number 1 frontman in rock still with us, imo. A guy who WAS blessed with maybe the most versatile and ranged vocals ever AND the stage presence to match. Don’t know if anyone cares, or who’s read this far… but I’d like to see if anyone can guess who I’m talking about…
Well Ian Gillan, Robert Plant, Paul McCartney, Paul Rodgers, Roger Daltrey, and Mick Jagger are all all still out there doing it. Any of those could fit the Bill. Bowie, Lennon, Freddy and most of the grunge guys have passed on. You couldn't possibly be talking about mumbling Eddie Vedder could you?
If he was still alive, I wonder if the band would invite him back to perform with them. I don't care what his detractors were; the band only had an identity when he was their lead vocalist.
Fuck. So sad. The guy was so bright and funny but drugs took their toll. If only Scott had got a grip on his addcitions as Bowie did we might still have him now. Still, what he gave us both with and without drugs is priceless
