He made it 10x better, his attention to detail is what sells his putters.

@@obsidian7644 There is absolutely nothing to support that claim. And certainly nothing so unique (milling, weight in the toe and heel, different hosel configurtions) that everyone else hasn't done the same thing. They built a good brand around his name, and he's a good guy, but there's a reason he's called "Scotty Xerox" within the industry. The reality is that there is only so much technology that can be built into a putter. When it went from the blade and mallet style to Karsten's perimeter weighted design that was 95% of the performance improvement, particularly for Pros who don't miss it off the sweet spot much.

@@mattmohi970 he took the Karsten design and refined it. Sure he Mass produces them but that deosnt mean they aren't great putters that do their job. If you think he copied ping and didn't improve on the design I disagree with that 100%. He offers way more custom options than any other putter company by a longshot

I used ping and scottys. There is no comparison. Scottys you can hit anywhere on the face and it feels consistent. Pings feel missed and the length of mishit putts changes drastically. Sorry man but its no where near copied.

No. True Scotty players/loyalists have been pushing him away from what you call "Red Rings" which are cherry bombs... they are played out over done and the cavity has had those since 2008... time for a change like this earlier classic models that are so loved and sought-after for their Timeless Aesthetics... "Scotty" "Titleist" or "Cameron" is what's written in the cavity of all his desired Putter's especially the Circle T and customs which go for 5-20,000+ Scotty even admits "he's been getting beat up hard" about having too much paint fill and busyness on his putters. Those of us who played Cameron since we were Junior golfers and own 10+ Cameron Putters hate the cherry bombs and prefer 2004 Studio stainless or Prior models like carbon steel and oil cans mid- late 90's...

I bought a $50 Bullseye, brand new and played it for 25 years. I am now approaching 5 years with my 2018 Select Newport 2.5 that I bought for $350. Pick the proper Putter and the per annum cost will readily diminish.

but you'll spend 500 bucks on a driver that'll be "outdated" within 2 years (max). A putter like a Scotty Cameron can last a golfer 50 years w/o becoming obsolete.

@@pb12661 No I generally wait a year until drivers drop down a couple years because there isn’t a whole lot of difference. Cameron’s are beautifully constructed but just a bit overpriced and I’ve never found one that was magical.

2020 Special Select "Blades" did get smaller and thinner, so SC could move the weight out to the Toe and Heel. Mallets "identifying" as "Blades"
