The fact someone came up with this nightmare fuel is frightening enough.

The blood ritual part of the story was to show that the infection does in fact take over the victims soul, the afterlife is a factual thing in the SCP universe so the doctor was checking to see if her wife had passed on, hoping that the flesh monster was just using her wife's memories to taunt her, but no the infection changes the soul of the victim, despite being just a ghost she was still trying to have the doctor embrace the change, she most likely succeeded and then got the guy reading the logs too by spooking him into shooting and alerting the mass.

Please be aware that SCP-001 has a lot of different entries all different. They are there to disguise the real SCP-001 which nobody knows what it is (basically a fail-safe for prying eyes) Also note, SCP entries can take place in different realities, dimensions, timelines, etc. The lore gets really deep. SO when world ending SCP articles are written a lot of the time shenanigans are at foot.

Yeah this was the scariest scp for me to think about for a while, but others have come out that really affected me. This one is still a great one.

Ah yes, the Fleshmelter Apocalypse.

I think the most horrifying part of this is in the “Tales from the SCP” version, in which the d-class that was sent out shoots himself before he can be assimilated. However, it’s not enough, as the light ends up bringing him back to life, just so he can suffer.

scp-001 is a concept that classifies many of the scps, there are a few suspected theories for why it is hidden. it could be that the O5 council has hidden it due to what it is,the would all be before they started naming them the way they do now,or it could be an anomilis effect such as scp 055-the anti meme

the fun thing i like about the scp stuff is that everything can be an scp like think one scp is the wiki itself everytime a new scp is made on it the scp becomes a real thing the foundation has to try and stop

The reason why this version of scp 001 is my favorite is because of all the different ways it interacts with other scps. Some of my favorite stories include the shy guy, the plaugue doctor, unlondon, that one sadistic granpa, infinite ikea, and last i checked there was still hope with jack bright and that one SCP calling himself god

SCP 001 is something that almost nothing can stop. Unless you can block out the sun long before it happens or you manage to make an underground bunker, nothing can prevent it.

In the SCP foundation, they have many different proposals for the 001 title, but since the 05 council doesn't want to value one SCP as the most significant or most encompassing of the SCP foundation, they haven't actually accepted any as the "001." Other proposals include the Scarlet King, The gate guardian, and a malfunctioning destroyer. I recommend the you review the 'red pool'

I hope he'll be able to get around to watch Mr Illustrated's When Day Breaks series.

Yeah it's even worse if you read the actual story itself because the D-Class guy that they sent outside that gets grabbed by one of the blobs ends up deciding that he'd rather die than be a part of it so he shoots himself, but then the blob takes his body, tears off his hood and his body REANIMATES and THEN liquefies and melds with the blob. Genuine nightmare fuel.

As soon as I saw the thumbnail, I got horrible PTSD from remembering seeing that video when it came out.

I recommend checking out SCP overlord, a small mini movie that shows the experiences of being the first MTF team to encounter a new SCP. It's very well made!

You got to check out SCP 2935 "O' Death" and SCP 3935 "This thing a quiet madness made" They are some of the most chilling. Way more than "When Day Breaks" in my opinion. Still a good one though

Euclid - Containable with correct measures, possible need of a large scale of resources. Keter - Very difficult to contain, needs extensive resources and special containment measures. Apollyon - Impossible to contain, may or may not result in widespread death and destruction. XK Class - End of the world/Humanity capable SCP. This does not include the countless subdivisions of Safe/Potential Euclid, Euclid/Potential Keter, Keter/Potential Apollyon, and various classes of hazards including those such as cognito hazards, anti-memetics, and so on. Classes and their name origins: Euclid was an ancient Greek mathematician active as a geometer and logician. Man, nux content lately been going crazy. If I had to say anything I'd say I appreciate the two vids a day thing I've been seeing for awhile. Mans working hard for us and it's nice. I may not comment much but I will always be watching. I remember finding nux awhile back while I was first discovering anime. I dont think they showed this in the video but theres a little tale on how a D Class was sent out into the sun to investigate the blobs and when he tried to kill himself before the sun could melt him the blob stopped the trigger and then proceeded to rip his suit letting the sun melt him

SCP 5000 and this SCP are very standout entries. Very detailed and quite terrifying in that Eldritch type way

Hey nux referring to the last video when you talked about how some scps are easier to contain than others, thats actually how they are classified, SAFE: Easy to contain (like if you have a deadly gun you can just put it in a drawer and not use it). EUCLID: A bit harder to contain (as the wendigo skull that even though it was an object it could scape if the walls of the containment were too weak or by its mind controlling abilities) KETER: Very hard to contain (as the immortal reptile or the shy guy) APOLLYON: Imposible to contain (As the one in this video), they usually reffer to K or XK class escenarios with means global or universal effects or destrucion There are some other categories such as: TAUMIEL: Scp's used to contain other instances of scps NEUTRALIZED: Scps that are not anomalous anymore or that have been destroyed intentionaly or by accident ARCHON: Scp's that in theory could be contained but the foundation choses not to, either because it would bring more trouble if contained or any other reason.

Scp illustrated has a whole series of when day breaks stories, and ive never shivered from hope and anguish at a story as much as those videos

For those who are confused or don't know: the are many distinct SCP 001 entries. All of them more different than the last. You can chise which ones are "canon" and which ones are not

Just waiting for you to react something Dr Bright related. The SCP foundation resident 'mad' scientist. SCP explained does a great introduction to him, but its really any other SCP entry that hes involved in or his 'not allowed to do list" where his crazy and fully entertaining escapades.

SCP Illustrated does this scp the best as it has become his most successful series do to how much he expands upon the idea with new scp interaction with the light. There is even an event coming soon that is to activate all nukes in all scp facilities at once to cause a nuclear winter that would kill most of the flesh and block out the sun with smoke for decades if everything goes right.

In my opinion this is the SCP I’m most afraid of because you can’t do anything aside from hiding cause there is no cure, there is no stopping the sun, and it’s only a matter of time before you either die or get turned

When day breaks isn't even the worst case scenario, SCP-5000 (Why?) takes the cake for most messed up apocalypse scenario.

Man, this 001 proposal is my favorite. I love body horror and 'hive-mind' stuff. Combined, it's the only thing that genuinely disturbs me, and this proposal (plus it's many side-stories) has plenty of both.

You should definitely check out an introductory video to the SCP university. Either from the Volgun or the Exploring Series. Just to get a better sense of the terminology and ease you through the ideas of what the SCP-001 proposals are

You wanna know another terrifying thought? Even if the Sun is the only star that this happened to, it would probably have repercussions far away from Earth. Even if it's not in any great capacity, the light from the Sun can reach other planets on the other side of the galaxy or beyond. Sure, it's just a tiny prick of light at that point that wouldn't even be noticeable most of the time, but that's all you need to touch you for the effects to start taking hold. There are also tales about some SCPs after day broke. The light nullifies any anomalous properties the things it touches has, but a couple anomalies survived. There's a story of SCP-096, the Shy Guy, finding and protecting a blind little girl who lost her parents, or SCP-343, God, finding and saving groups of survivors alongside the Foundation. There's basically a whole canon for When Day Breaks. If I recall, the Plague Doctor is also in a story, where he manages to stay inside a Site and studies what happened to try to find a cure.

Well, now we need scp 2718. It's even more hardcore of a horror story than this, 7179 is a very short one with a similar concept so you could even fit them in the same video. scp-2718 "What happens after" scp-7179 "E is for Eternity"

I remember someone maybe a story based on this series where they were able to temporarily weaken when day breaks by launching enough nukes to cause a nuclear winter and block out the sun

I'd highly recommend 3426, it's another end of the world scenario but rather that a different universe it's about other planets that tried to know too much.

scp 001's are usually big apocalyptical things like this, scp has tons of different canons but instead of trying to explain them all you just got to accept it, if one story contradicts another then they are different canons so obviously if you read another story and the sun it fine its clearly not in the "when day breaks" canon

When day breaks feels like a whole story on its own. Due to it being the literal sun, it affect a lot more than you'd think. I'm so glad so many people are working on this event as it is one of my favourite to read in the whole SCP universe. (Plus the fact they incorporate other SCPs into the story is really cool)

The scariest part to me was left out of this video. When the D Class goes outside, he kills himself before the blob gets him. The blob then takes him, somehow resurrects him, and then melts him. No, not even death is an escape from When Day Breaks. So why not come outside? Its such a bright, beautiful day...

Nux, there are MANY SCP-001 entries. They ALL are lies. They ALL are true. ...now, the meta reason is that when the project got started everyone wanted their own creation to be the First SCP. So, instead of making a mess of things they added the Legend that these entries were made to hide which was the real SCP-001 and that they might all be false or one or more might be true. So When Day Breaks is one of such proposals that fits into the SCP "canon" as an event sometime in the future which the Foundation learned about somehow.

I've read 2 or 3 chapters of the series of When Day Breaks, and I know of the Sun's origins and his sister, who travels the stars helping civilizations. What I want to know is how the Sun "broke", though. All I could get from the fanbase is that part of our Sun SCP works with "thaumaturgy seals", and a "certain cult" broke the star to "melt the planet into a single lifeform". The cult of the Flesh That Hates? I'm slightly confused and still curious...

The funny thing is nobody can decide what scp 001 really is, there’s many versions, like the Scarlet King, Gate Guardian, Sheef of papers, when the day breaks, and probably more

it missed a few details, like how at 12:40 the man didnt go outside just with a suit, he had one request, a pistol with one bullet, so he could kill himself before being exposed to the sun. he did it, too, he shot himself before the sun got to him.. and died.. but then.. the things removed his clothes and- he was transformed.. *he couldn't even escape it with death.*

Just realised that there will be some massive scp 001- A instances out there for example when the 2 tide turning scps melt, the 6km long lobster and 16km eel

An Important thing I'm not sure Nux picked up on but there are multiple SCP-001s. The idea is if they make up a bunch of SCP-001 then it will make finding the real 001 that much harder.

You should do SCP-001 “The Scarlet King”. There are many 001s because supposedly the foundation wants to hide the one true 001 due to its sheer power and will over other SCPs. And the Silent King is considered by fans and scholars to be most likely that true SCP. He is horrifying and has multiple stories you can read about and watch videos on! In fact most 001s have multiple stories including “When Day Breaks”.
