Longcle Steve that’s the thing with 096, it’s like a glass cannon in which it has great offense but not good defense due to the fact that it’s HP at the start is 1000 (500 normal HP and 500 AHP), and even though it gains 200 AHP for every human that looks at it, during it’s cooldown state after it’s enraged state ends you can damage 096 severely if you have a decently sized squad with you

@@winternightst7001 ^^ I was in surface as a solo guard, 096 came up to me after I popped up in the elevator, but he wasn't on the platform. I triggered him and he just kept on running at me, at one point he charged at me but I just kinda... dodged it by taking a slight footstep to the right, then he fell down, his rage ended and I murdered him. Sadly for me though, there was a virgin chaos camping in the upper platform of chaos spawn, I got one tapped because I was in like, 30 hp, only for him to then say "Clutch, easy." I will still get revenge on you NilloC you fucking cheeky bastard.

@A_BrightDawn Ima be real with you guys, it isnt a competitive game and its all about a universe full of creatures that literally can cause end of the world scenarios with 096 being one of the many well known OP ones. his depiction here isnt even that bad compared to what he could be, now on the otherhand yes its a game but its a game attempting to depict fictional creatures with some accuracies towards the original lore with some aspects tonned down. but like 096 is fully capable of chasing helicopters to get to someone who decided to look, his speed is just barely accurate in the game. His reach is accurate as if he was even capable of getting his hands on you with swipes it would be just death theres no getting away from him.

Nah the foot doesn’t work, anything above the chest hole seems to be able to trigger him though, also if you look straight down it’s impossible to trigger him

@@SigilOfBaphomet While newer series last about 1 year, serie 1 had three year of people making stuff. I feel like the original comment wanted to say “it’s serie 1 so it’s popular” it’s not it. It’s because 096 was a good skip, an old article, and had the chance of being in the containment breach game. But other articles like 18 are more talked about because they’re the most likely scp that one would see when they try to watch everything. Also, 914, 682 and 173 were literally created before the site was made. They’re the old ones.

I've been playing this game since 2017. And over the years the game lost its horror atmosphere. the new 096 makes the game more creepy again. when you hear his scream and you know you have to hide NOW is just awesome

Just hide in a corner and the after the rage he gets less AHP then you can finish the job. I've seen 3 NTF cadets kill a 096 after his rage ended because he had all his AHP missing.

It started screaming at us, and crying. Not animal roaring though, sounded *exactly like a person.* Really fucking creepy. Whether it's an artistic desicion or copyright bs like there was with 173, I trust the devs know what they're doing. I didn't like the new scream at first but it's growing on me.

People: * Looks at him * 096: Kill those who looked at him People: "This is unfair" Pro player: Stare the walls while 096 enraged, goes back and shoot him. Just enough to chipped some of its health. Its not even as hard as people say it is. 1 person, being smart enough, can chip 10% of its health. Heck, an entire squad of fresh spawn can look at 096 and if none of them flee and make path for everyone to shoot. They can kill it from full health dropped to 0. The armor addition per person is not strong enough to withstand the firepower of guns that are better than Mp7. 1 person will die, if they stare him and keep shooting. But will chip its health away. Now 10 person, no one running, but keep shooting. Yes, 096 gonna die. Even in full health. As long as everyone focus on shooting.

A single second to get into the enraged mode is lore accurate? Bro, if it was lore accurate it would take him ~22 seconds to enrage. Even then you don't even need to look at his face to get him enraged, even just looking at his body triggers him.

Lol just throw a grenade down he can't see grenades while enraged, either that or use a micro or have a group of people wait out his rage time then shoot him. The point isn't to face this SCP head on you need to be smart about it. Lore accurate doesn't equal good game design. 096 canonically pursues it target until the target is dead and never stops but if that was the case in game players wouldn't follow that. They would just run around the facility trying to trigger as many people as possible until they could kill everyone there, lore accurate sure but not very fun.

Mmm yes a moving stage hazard that is nearly impossible to predict as it is controlled by another potentially intelligent human. Scps should be feared, But they should not become over powered to the point that there's no reason to play if you get any other role. Otherwise the game will quickly become stale and die as every round ends with Scps Win.

This about covers what everyone thought about 096 when the update first came out. Over time though people have gotten over their fear and realized they just need to change their strategy when dealing with 096. When not enraged: looking down is all you need to do to guarantee your safety from him. Use this time to ready the micro if you have it. When enraged at you: Look for an elevator or just try to do as much damage as possible before you inevitably die. When enraged but not at you: Keep looking down and follow the sound of his screaming so you can be in position when he comes out of his rage. When he's just come out of his rage: Now's your chance so light em up with everything you got. If you have a team of people that are smart and use the same strategy he's pretty easy to deal with, though you might still die. When with 173: This is the most difficult possibility. It's possible to keep one in eyesight and the other not especially since 173 usually leads but difficult. Your best opportunity to take on one of them is one 096 flies into a rage since that usually separates them temporarily. If that's not happening for you because they're too smart and sticking together then the only option left is to confer with your team on which one you're killing first (I would recommend 173) and then just make sure someone stays alive because this is going to take a couple waves at least.

I understand that he might be OP in the game but let's be serious for a sec. He had a lot of problems such as not being the exact height and other things. //I think that the fact that if someone looks at him it makes him angry for a longer time makes a lot of sense since it is *scopophobia* and that is a fear of people *watching* or *staring* at you. People with this disease can go into panic attacks and are fearful in general, SCP-096 is an example of being aggressive and being in distress (screaming). He looks more real and his body structure looks better than what he looked like before (that head was as huge as 2 pineapples ontop of eachother or 2 eggplants). He looked ridiculous and strange with large head, not only that but he wouldn't have been able to run due to having a huge head that would more than likely injure his spine and neck. Let's all appreciate it for a sec since it isn't too bad and it is a Beta after all which means they *might* change some things.//

My personal idea for balancing him is this: 1) More normal health, less armor from people looking. 2) Can only kill the ones that actually looked at him, and he INSTANTLY drops out of rage when the last one dies. 3) Infinite rage as long as there's someone that's seen him. Balanced by not being able to kill someone that hasn't looked at his face. And that's pretty much it. It follows the lore, isn't stupidly OP, takes advantage of the 'doesn't get enraged from the side or behind' mechanic, and still makes him a challenge to kill.

@@nrg948coach2 3 has no real downside. The worst that could happen is someone sees his face and becomes another target 'cause he was running too fast to avoid looking. Him being constantly angry would make it more powerful, simply for the difficulty it would add to not looking at his face if he can just run around at full speed, but other than that, not a huge deal. My main goal with my suggestion is to get it as close to the proper lore as possible. It just makes sense that he'd be forever angry, since that's how it'd work in the lore. Someone seen his face and isn't dead? He's angry.

@@linguini5715 Nah, its pretty balanced so far. Imo might need a slight health buff (extra 250 HP, maybe 500). But the armor should stay the same. Because 096 can lose health easily if he got triggered by 1 MTF, but instead of running. This 1 MTF decide to stay and shoot. You lose a lot of health. Or worse, a squad that doesnt run away after watching his face. But stay and shoot. Guaranteed to die or lose huge portion of health. The armor added / person stare does not outnumber the damage / person. Funny enough, 096 whilst getting more stronger watched by a lot of people. His weakness is when the people who watch him decide to stay and shoot. Guns in SCP:SL have high DPS. Dont underestimate how easy it is to kill an SCP. 096 only truly draws power from people who watch him but running away. Giving free ticket to kill, and adding armor making it tougher to kill. But if people stay and shoot, 096 would lose the additional armor and got its health damaged. Seems many misunderstood the purpose of armor for 096. Its not to make him Overpower or being a tank. Its to reduce the damage he is taken by every encounter. Old version of 096 without armor is easy target in screaming state, because your damage go straight to health bar. Means 1 person, if he stay and shoot, deals massive damage. And even 5 person doesnt change anything. Only create more heavier damage. The armor addition is to prevent, or make it require more teamwork and bravery. So, if it triggered by 10 people. You need at least 6 - 8 people to stay and shoot. If it triggered by 1 people. It have slight armor buff, enough to reduce the damage. But not enough to negate the damage. (MTF rifle with muzzle booster can take around 15% of his health and destroy the armor, this is coming from 1 person. Sometimes goes as far as 20%). Having 096 die in 1 encounter is not fun and not balanced. What we have now is pretty good, until people realize that running away does not help (only works for old 096). Once their tactics changed, instead of run but stay and shoot to deal as much damage as possible. 096 will definitely need buff. But just not now, as people seem to be scared and not realize it yet. Definitely DOES NOT NEED nerf.

I disagree with your points besides the fact you can see him from the other side of the earth and he gets enraged, that should be nerfed. However, I think 096 is really good and scary the way he is, though I wish the chances of him spawning would be lower than other scps (if that's already not in the game). If there was one thing they could do to nerf 096, it would be giving scramble gear to commanders and where you find normal scp items (Like the hat). The scramble gear would make it so you can look at scp 096 for way longer than usual before he becomes enraged. If it time needed to look was instant like it is, then I'd say you could look at him for 3-4 seconds. Enough time to deal some damage or run away, but not enough time to kill him while he's not enraged yet. The amount of time it can be used and the cooldown would probably be as the same as the hat scp. You would be easily be able to tell if your looking at 096 because of multiple black bars blocking his face. It would also give you night vision too.

3-4 seconds is enough time for a squad of MTF to lock him in a room and throw grenades inside, or for a bunch of CI to unload their clips on him, even with the Logicer nerf.

If you shoot at him, he will get triggered. I think it's fair. It gives him a chance to fight back. But you're forgetting one thing that counters him no matter what........ The anticheat. Also four pixels... The short movie has that happen and they wanted to make him more lore friendly.

@@GucciGecko it depends on how many people look at you if you've actually played scp sl you would know that it's nearly impossible to get infinite rage and AHP. It would have to happen on a server with around 100 people I believe.

@@angrybox4253 except he's not, there's no counterplay. There's no not looking at him cause he can just walk into you, looking at his feet will also trigger you(not lore friendly). There's no killing him because you need quite a few people with perfect aim and coordination to shoot him but wait, he gets more health the more people look at him so its even harder to coordinate an attack on him (also not lore friendly). And its not even lore friendly. You're only defending your supposed lore when it unbalances the game but half his buffs aren't even a lore buff. This game is not lore friendly regardless and the people who actually play it want to see a slightly more balanced 096 or at least have realistic counterplay to it

096 is the reason i love the game. 096 has such a unique gameplay, that allows the game to stay different from other games. I mean, the other spcs have that, too. But 096 is so much better now. The thing is: 096 now forces you to listen more to the game. Most of the time you can actually hear him from far away crying ore going after another person. If you hear him you can easily manage to avoid him.

The thing is compared to other SCP's he is completely unbalanced. He is much more enjoyable and powerful then all the other SCP's. Buff the other SCP's to his level and give humans more counterplay. Also make it so you have to look at him for longer to rage like the old 096.

They should add a containment feature like they have with Larry, make it so you need a certain card level to get into 096's chamber, and next to the dead guard in there they should add a photo of 096, so someone can sacrifice themselves by picking it up and holding it in their hand, left clicking will make you look at it, after looking at it no matter where 096 is he will go straight to his chamber and like the femur breaker there should be a special announcement made over the automated intercom or something to let everyone know someones containing 096, when 096 goes in and kills the person 096 should be locked in place for a set amount of time, the person who was with the sacrifice can then close the door and then that door will remain locked and indestructible and 096 will be contained if someone doesn't close the door then after the set amount of time 096 will just be able to walk out, so its a very time sensitive thing that would take coordination to pull off, not to mention if 096 is far away another scp can come over to 096's chamber to simply kill you so I think it would be pretty fair and balanced to warrant all the buffs 096 got. EDIT: I dont think this should interrupt 096's current enraged (if he is in one at the time of you looking at the photo) he should be able to continue moving freely in his current enraged state, after 096 calms down he then should become enraged again, running straight to his chamber.

I think the new 096 is good. It shouldn't be nerfed due to the fact that you shouldn't look at him. You actually have to use tactics to subdue him. Every scp other than 096 is literally just backpedaling while shots go off. SCP 096 Is unique to contain and they should buff more SCPs to make the SCPs more unique individually.

I totally agree, when he is in rage he is invincible, this makes the game more fun to play and actually feel true fear when encounter him.I will hate the game if they actually nerf him though.

The main problems with it (for me) it's how sensitive it is to trigger him, even if I am looking down, it's basically a curse for d boys and scientist since now it can open the machine room. The second problem comes from the fear from other players, since he gains 200 extra shield for every person that sees him and since trying to outrun him is pointless unless there are elevators nearby, the best way to win is to shoot at him as soon as possible but it obviously doesn't work if half of your team stays and the other half flees. I actually managed once to kill 096 alone as a security guard with 3 mags (and he was full health)

The reworked needed to happen in my opinion, old 096 late game was basically "Can I tank the MTF long enough to get going" if not you just die via firing squad. He had very linear game play and it showed how frustrating he could be to play after a certain point, especially against experienced players. The new 096 I think is a much better version for a number of reasons, 1. He gives the SCPs a tank/front line outside of 106 that can cover your glass cannons like the doc. 2. The artificial health makes it so that he can actually tank and lead pushes, this can be countered by hiding(since as long as you don't shoot or look at him in his rage state he can't see you) it solves the issue above where you would just get gunned down by the MTF while ramping up. It also forces the MTF to use their brain for once and not mindlessly rush through the EZ and Heavy and trigger a mass reaction from 096. 3. 096 is less tanky then the original with 500 base and 500 AH respectfully. 2-3 chaos or MTF can easily gun him down or at least almost kill him in the time it takes him to get going. Also if you have a grenade it can speed this up as it does like over half his HP. 4.There is more counter play to this version in my opinion given that when enraged anybody that didn't get a glimpse of his face will not longer be visible on his hud and of course his build-up and cool-down stages are where he is most vulnerable. 5. This is more fitting to his character and lore, like the mass reaction and chains of destruction from multiple people seeing him and he feels more like a threat. Experience players could abuse gates and wait-out his rage or just hid/jump to a place he couldn't get to (like 106's chamber) and in cool-down just kill him. This version can circumvent that to great success while still have defined counter-play. But I can see why he is frustrating to play against and I do agree that his range and ability to get triggered (like in one frame) should be looked at for the sake of balance. Also his ability to get triggered for so long should maybe be revised with a cap as you mentioned, a base 15 plus 2 for each kill capping at 25-30 would be good in my opinion; it would force the 096 player to be a little more strategic as he would have limited time. Overall the new version caters to a new play style both on the human teams and SCPs, if the MTF are dumb enough to open up on him and let him get a chain then you lose, but if your smart about it and maybe check corners or listen/be aware of the environment and forecast what could happen that it can be avoided.

You make a very good point! I agree that he isn't too difficult to handle, you just have to be smart and strategic, also 096 is way more scarier and realistic than the original, plus it's funner to play him, which a lot of people hated because of the long game, as you mentioned. Overall I agree that he should be nerfed a little, but other than that he's perfect as he's much more scarier :)

@@ignisterygo1258 Thanks, as of right now the biggest issue I see with him is the one frame trigger mechanic and the range of it. It should definitely be nerfed cause theres been moments where hes three hallways away in the pitch blackness (cause I play with brightness on low) and I trigger him without even knowing. That being said I got a funny story where me and some facility guards (around 4-5) at the start of a round gunned him down from 100-0 with no causalities. This proves that he can be handled with if you play smart and work as a squad. I'm looking forward to the next mega patch and hopefully some quality of life improvements to 096.

I also think a new layout of the facility would be good considering they will probably add more SCPs( of course they will still change the hallways but i mean new rooms for the new SCPs) as well as a new SCP item, like the candy scp item, which could maybe buff your speed a little bit as well as an increased firing speed, Idk but I'm really excited for the new Mega Patch as well, and your welcome Vince :)

@@ignisterygo1258 I've had alot of ideas for new rooms and like for the facility. One of my favorites being connecting 049's room and the server room effectively making a second floor. The docs chamber would be one exit elevator and then through a gate you would have a generator room where players could blackout heavy(turn the lights off) so that the 939 could lurk like in the original game. This would only turn the lights off meaning that the computers blackout would still be reliant as he locks the doors as well; it would also give the flashlight a bigger role. You could have some rooms and the like and even a spawn for one of the 939s. Then you could have it connect to the 939 chambers on the other side of the rocks which I think would be cool. Then the server room could have the second elevator and that could lead to more rooms or whatnot and connect to the rest of the floor. I also think they should add another big armory in heavy (much like the 00 one in light) to give the MTF more grenades and a point to hold off in. Another idea would be to add security room to all levels of the facility. This would give human players the ability to scout the respective floor through cameras and look for people or scps of interest for intel along with showing a counter as to whos left to contain and or kill. Just the idea of a security room sounds cool to me along with opening the checkpoint corners with the glass, just more places to go to. Same with a rework of 096s room, I think it should be larger with more to it, like an actual room and maybe make 106s chamber reflect the original game to with all the catwalks and L shape control room.

I think that would definitly make things more interesting as it would make it easier for the NTF and Chaos to find and kill their enemies in the facility! I also like the armory idea considering theres only 2 armory's in the facility( One in the nuke room, and the 00 room in light containment) Also I think that there should be another staircase going down to another part of the facility from 173's room so 173 could go in 2 separate directions as well as making it easier to find the gun that can spawn up there, so 173 can't camp it if it's up there( If 173 does). Also 939's spawn should delfinitly be next to the plague doctors chambers for your generator idea. D-bois spawn should also have another doorway on the opposite side of the door so they could also go in a different direction of the facility as well making things more interesting. Also the candy item room could be in the room in the other staircase of 173's chambers and the candy's effects only last for 5 seconds so they aren't overpowered. Also you there would be only 6 candies in the bowl, of course you can only take 2 for the rest of the match, and if you take more you would instantly die like in SCP Unity.

Easy fix, make it lore friendly where if he gets enraged, he can only kill the person who enraged him and nobody else (unless they also look at him) and he doesn't stop until he's dead also keep the fact that he can see who ever looked at him through the walls also make it take longer to enrage him and make a cooldown for his charge ability

4:11 when 096 is "enraged" thats when he can attack you, however, it only takes him 1 second to enter his wind-up phase, in reality, it takes him about 7 seconds to beome enraged

Correction. Even if your brain doesn’t see his face, if a single light particle of his face enters your eye retina, he’s triggered. It takes him about a minute to actually go berserk though. Trust me, S.C.R.A.M.B.L.E would’ve worked otherwise.

If you're argument is "Its part of his lore!" then here are the things we should add as "Part of the lore" 1: Door control system! The door control system would be a switch in the intercom room that turns off 079's ability to do anything with doors. SCP's would have to turn this on at the start of every match, and anyone could turn this on/off. 2: 096 is indestructible! Thats it, The foundation has no way of killing it so we're just going with the canon. 3: SCP's hate eachother! Cross testing is a great way to terminate Keter SCP's, so now you can kill eachother on the SCP team! 4: SCP 173 should emit its Blood and feces soup when walking around the facility. If you walk in this you move slower for 15 seconds. 5: SCP 106 has no-clip. SCP 106 can move through any surface now and can noclip to wherever he wants! 6: You no longer control a zombie! Zombies in the lore are aimless creatures so, when you become a zombie, you just die! 7: Pain killers wouldn't restore health. Painkillers just make the pain easier, they don't actually heal anything. 8: SCP's wouldn't be able to open doors that require keycards! If you have to get a keycard, why shouldn't they? 9: MTF wouldn't be able to pass through tesla gates. Tesla gates are meant to be dangerous parts of security, and MTF have to wait for someone to switch it off in the intercom room! I wonder why they haven't added these? Maybe its because they _aren't fun to play with_

Yes I know the lore I read the SCP's page on the wiki. tbh he should move slower, definitely. probably some adjustments to the trigger would be good, but the range should be infinite. like you can't see him through walls, but if you just, view his face, from any range, then he chase you. I personally think he should be able to appear in random places (teleport) if nobody has been around him in the general area for a while. Like he has to spawn a certain distance away, and they can't see him. This makes it so he can still move around and get people, but still adhere to some of the lore, like moving slowly and not ripping open doors.

The one thing that has no place in the game is 096 still seeing you in a rage, even if you never saw him, not even for a frame, and then he can still kill you. That's not even in canon. And the point of containment breach is you're not supposed to kill the scps, in secret laboratory, its a necessary win condition, and therefore, balance between teams should be maintained. I'm not saying 096 should be nerfed, I'm just saying SCP:SL is striving for balance between teams.

Nyte Lyte if you don’t want him to see you through a wall, then make sure you never saw him in the first place. I honestly find him really easy to avoid because of how loud his crying is. The only time his crying is hard to avoid is when he is leaning against a door.

Welp imma give my own opinion to each reason: 1) I mean... Yeah. It's gonna be a problem on the surface or in very specific layouts of zones. 2) Well imo that's the point. Get into trouble and get as many people to look at you and shred 'em all. If that many people look at you they deserve to die as they weren't smart enough about this. 3) Same as the above. You're not really supposed to fight him while he's raging or getting into rage, but instead when he's vulnerable when his rage ends 4) Well you can hear him and if you know there is one, you shouldn't be so careless. Yet agreed it should need that frame or two more to enrage him. 5) Again. Point of 096 is to avoid eye-contact till his rage ends. 7) Broken? You shouldn't be able to escape him if you're the lone guy that looked at him. It was kinda bullshit before where someone could very easly escape you and you couldn't do anything about it. 8) It *isn't* a big deal most of the time. Maybe only when someone jumps to some wonky spots liek HCZ near that armory or when aiming. Which shouldn't be a problem as a whole squad shouldn't fight him all at once. 9) As mentioned in 7 it felt so bullshit that someone could juke you infinitely during your rage without even really running away. _Not to add that range either way relies on internet connection and how laggy you are as I can say the same thing about all other SPC - their range being ridiculous.

I personally think he doesn't need to be nerfed, his whole gig is being extremely OP. The only thing I would change is how long you need to look at him to trigger him. As for 'killing' him, if you catch him just after his rage, there is a cool down for animation. Where if you get a group of people to shoot at him, it's very easy to knock him down. P.S, the only other thing I'd change is the face he can kill people who haven't looked at him. Have a godamn wonderful day!! :)
