SCP 3456 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as The Orcadian Horsemen.
SCP-3456 are a group of quadrupeds resembling horses and other equines.
Instances materialize near the sites of war, terrorist attacks, and natural disasters.
Direct observation of SCP3456 by an individual will result in the entity becoming aware of the observer, at which point it will display directional awareness of said individuals at all times. SCP-3456 manifestations are known to engage in predatory and stalking behavior, utilizing the environment to conceal and camouflage themselves.

A creepy detail that seems to have been left out: In an incident log, one victim got a decent look at the creature's forehead with their camera and found a crucifix and infantry helmet embedded within.

Isnt there a tale that explains the origin of scp-3456? These things have been created by a old god named teron in order to aid their master into bringing destruction of the world and the people captured by these monsters later end up transformed into more of them

So if you want to survive a encounter with scp 3456, you’re going to have to permanently move into an fresh underwater hotel/house. One of the more doable requirements for for survival, especially for the foundation.

It never specified that they would or could go "around" fresh water in pursuit, just that they would not pursue their prey after crossing, for unknown reasons. Erasing the memory of a survivor is SOP regardless, but would also prevent the spread of information similar to erasing them from the history books. With the whole refusing to cross fresh water trait being "reason unknown", its plausible that it has nothing to do with them physically, but some ancient deal/contract or powerful being that allows their activities but once their marked prey cross fresh water they are "off limits" at that time. The real surprise is that the foundation never sent anybody back across that fresh water to see what happened.

I'm so glad you covered this one, but you guys shortened the best part!! During the Iraq incident the camera man, prior to disappearing, gets a shot of one of the "riders" heads. The other Irishman from WWI's crucifix is embedded in it's head suggesting that people taken become more riders.

I find myself wondering if, since they wont cross fresh water or appear when it rains, why not try a fire-hose blasting fresh water at them? it seems fresh water is the 1 thing they hate so maybe it can hurt them. If shooting with water gets a desired pain reaction and appears to harm them, seems next step is to try and lure them into a trap that would drop them in a tank of water.

I have the feeling they would be able to just vanish when attacked with water. With dropping them in, the foundation may be willing to do some things that are... "less than ethical," I don't think they'd be willing to create a situation with enough pain/misery to bring the entities, and I imagine it would require a decent set up to build it, not just a tank of water sitting on the ground with a trap door on the top. Plus... with how easy it is to be targeted by them once seen, it would be a significant cost of life to set everything up and lure them to the correct area and have teams ready in case something goes wrong. A decent idea, but the water hose seems like the better option, but like I said above, I imagine they could just phase out of existence whenever the water got close, which, if you're willing to have a group constantly monitoring an area and keeping regular patrols, would be enough to potentially save one area, but they could easily just decide to go somewhere else instead and come back when they feel a better opportunity has risen. I'm not really sure why I typed all that out honestly, sorry if I sounded like a jerk or an a-hole.

"Got it?" ;) But seriously, my spelling and grammer are usually atrocious so I actually do appreciate when people point out my errors. It's just REALLY weird that the people who do, usually have simple errors (or are just being lazy, so why bother with it?) in their corrective posts.

Most likely. There are some stories that state God cursed the land but blessed the waters. So it possible that either A: this is the curse of the land taken physically form or B: the blessing of the water is what stops them from crossing

I thought I recognized that description! Fought something like it in a PS2 game called 'The Bard's Tale'. Except they pronounced it 'Knucle-Lah-vee' not 'nuck-lave'. Sometimes it's depicted (and is as well in the video game) with bladed arms from the elbow down to where the hands are supposed to be. Other times (like in this video) the arms are one-and-a-half to two times the length of normal arms. Sometimes it's shown with just a skinless human torso like a malformed centaur, and sometimes both the human torso and a horse's head like a twisted conjoined twin (again like is shown here).

What if we just got them trapped on an island surrounded by freshwater. unsure if it gotta be a natural body of water or if we can just get them somewhere and then make a river. maybe the water hurts or kills them? have we alternatively tried splashing them with freshwater?

Well, given that they can de-manifest at will, and generally congregate and hunt during wars and disasters, even potentially causing disaster, you cannot trap them. There's a reason they are Keter Class.

This looks like the kind of thing you would find in a DOOM game. There it is the solution wait for someone to make the DOOM SLAYER into an SCP then pit them against each other you know it. it’s bound to happen eventually and maybe just maybe he will bring his Crucible Blade with him

Okay explanation, but some important details were omitted. Such as the earliest encounter with this SCP or the author's notes on this SCP being inspired by the web series RWBY. Great web series by the way, RWBY is a fantasy setting with amazing designs that subtly alludes to various fairy tales and mythologies, I only managed to understand about half of the metaphors and symbolism the first time watching.

My first encounter with this SCP was the show RWBY and the kids fighting it almost died, they managed to kill it avenging their entire village, but I think it was only a shadow of the version depicted here.

Hes showing them use an m1 garand when well the m1 garand wasnt made yet and the british soldiers during ww1 and ww2 wouldve used the lee enfield just pointing that out there, they're also using the Thompson which wasnt made yet

Could the manifestation out of thin air away from the Isles possibly be related to global warming through changing of current patterns and/or a change in sea water evaporating into the atmosphere? Also if the Nucklave is linked to colder waters and the Mirther to warm waters Ice Cap melting could also cause the change in behavior

Why not just find an oxbow lake and make slight alterations to have the river flow across both normally and through the lake, dam the top part of the oxbow, lure the Nuckelavee in, cross the fresh stream and break the dam?

Good thing I live in Arizona, southern Arizona at that. Mud is a rarity. So, y'know, no big ol' 90 foot tall, from-the-waist-up humanoid melded to the back of some giant slick horse-like critter gonna come springing out of the earth to snatch up my flabby body with its freaky hands at the ends of those stalks-for-arms. But it's also really hot and there are cactus everywhere, so maybe it's not such a win after all...
