Basically, the Scp foundation decides to declare war on humankind and kills any good scps, while releasing most of the bad ones. The person who uses the suit tries to fix everything, and he succeeds, but kills himself in the process. It is a really good story, and the "Exploring Series" has a 45 minute video that I would recommend you watch if you have the time.

You know considering what would happen if the foundation went against the world. I would say that the foundation would actually lose. Sure they do have many troops and technology. But the combined manpower/tech of the GOC, CI, and SH. Plus the resources from the MC&D. I would say the foundation would likely win 4 times out of ten but if the combined factions make use of there knowledge and team up they would actually beat the foundation in most battles. And sure the foundation would send 096 on a rampage but some people won’t be able to see it (Africa and other lower class countries) and who can say that they could just find a way to kill the shy guy. It would take time but it would be worth it. Now 682 has been contained by the foundation on multiple occasions so I don’t see 682 being THAT much of a problem. All in all foundation kills a good 5-6 billion and then losses probably.

They was an capture of an scp foundation mtf soldiers by the GOC and they were were trying to get answers and the site were bombed and he'd escaped. Also in the video it seemed like GOC was losing in the war against the scp foundation and nothing was left but a few hundred soldiers but I don't know about ci and other groups of interest like church of the broken God and others also I am pretty sure that they nuked all the world leaders but I might be wrong because I haven't watch it in a while but if they did al the nation's wouldn't be able to do much so no more funding from all world governments to GOC and ci. I am also sure if the foundation were losing the 13 members of the 05 would use 610 or other scps that they haven't used yet to turn the tides of the war. Also they can get a large portion of 999 and put and to a lake to make people to die to laughter. Even if they do work together they lose badly because of the scps contained by the scp foundation like 682, 096 etc. So even in the worst case scenario they would win against all the world.

a tale connected to scp-5000 reveals that "it" is actually the cause of scp-2718. 2718 isn't even really a cognitohazard (how would roger sheldon have "known" about it?), "it" manipulated the o5 council into basically erasing all knowledge of it, except for the aforementioned roger sheldon and another o5, who ensured that the knowledge remains, even if it's nearly inaccessible. "it" feeds off of, and is the cause of humans' pain and suffering, and 2718 is its way of ensuring it has no shortage of it. anyone who dies, will endure eternal suffering, feeling their bodies rot and decay, and as their body decays further, they feel even more and more of it. all this being pain that feeds "it". however, "it" can't exist without living humans, without a psychospace, so it seems like killing off all humans was not only better than letting "it" continue to feed off of their pain, but also release the billions of already dead humans from its influence, allowing them to rest in peace at last. that also somewhat explains samuel ross's statement during his interrogation "once you realize you aren't supposed to feel pain..." and the stabbing test (one of the mtfs was shown to still feel pain, and was gunned down due to still being influenced by "it"). this does also raise the question of why the foundation used violent anomalies to tear humans apart (682, 4666, 3199...) and not simply wipe out humans in the blink of an eye with one of their world-ending anomalies, but this might have been because either they would have wiped themselves out as well, or because they possibly needed to do it just slowly enough for "it" to "fall out" of the psychospace, allowing them to confront "it" directly, which explains the part where wilson witnessed foundation forces fighting what he describes as "a person stretched out", likely a physical manifestation of "it", seeing how it's lost enough power to manifest physically. and again, as you mentioned, wilson resetting this by combining 055 and 579 is the bad ending, dooming humanity to the fate that "it" will subject everyone to. the results of project dammerung are still hidden away and labelled as a cognitohazard, project pneuma never made that discovery, and humans still continue blissfully unaware of what awaits them after. there was even a "termination test" done with 682 where it was shown the files contained within 5000 (as it appears in the current reality, aka the suit), and responded with "You almost understood once. Maybe one day you'll actually do the job right.". i would even say that this very influence of "it" is the "pestilence" that 049 wants to "cure". (although this does run into the problem of 049 also considering 682 a victim of the pestilence.)

No, lemme explain. Basically the 05 led an experiment called "PNEUMA" and they successfully mapped the collective consciousness of all humanity and discovered a parasite/thing inside all humans responsible for negative emotions such as pain. Apparently they know what the thing has in store for humanity and decides to make all humans aliven't, for that they cure all foundation personnel by just showing them either the entity or what the entity will do, they then launch all they have to destroy humanity. You read all of it through the eyes of an uncured human who got into a suit and survived. The uncured human gets influenced by the thing to use SCP-055 aka "i forgor 💀" and SCP-579 together so that it resets the timeline and basically makes the discovery of the thing and project PNEUMA to never happen.

I know I am 2 years late but: In the story of SCP-5000, the Foundation discovers something that inflitrated the human psychospace, which is a space where all human subconsciouses are connected. This thing is not supposed to be there, and it causes things like emotions and physical pain to exist. It has a horrific fate planned for humanity, and the 05 and ethics comitte unanimously agree that the extinction of humanity is a better fate than what this thing has planned. It is also why the Foundation is fighting that one entity with those black rifts around it, because that is a physical manifestation of this thing, growing so weak due to most of humanity dying it is visible outside the psychospace.

Its sad to think that the foundation never really turned against humanity. Everything they did was to save everyone from the horror that “IT” would put them through.

Eh, if I'm being honest I never really took that part of SCP-5000 seriously. You said it yourself, we'll never know when or how humanity will get screwed, because the SCP universe, by its nature, doesn't have a story that's set in stone, and this story looks to be more of a one-off rather than part of a longer canon. In which case, I can't really care about the greater threat.
