In all likelyhood, the fact the drone camera came briefly back online after being swallowed by it kind of seemed like it was done to bait the SCP foundation to send more meat into the fray. Knowing they would bite if enough was dangled in front of their face. Considering the scythe wielding fellow likely was clearly at least a decently powerful sarcic using their own brand of "meat magic" to boot, it stands to reason they would be the intelligence who arranged for the baiting to occur. It's lucky the SCP foundation didn't run into one of the truly heavy hitter sarcic carsists down there, as then things would have truly gone from bad to worse considering how madly powerful they tend to be.

I don't know why the foundation didn't give the assault team shotguns with dragons breath rounds. Probably would've been ten times as effective then those assault rifles

Dragons breath is notoriously dog shit at doing what it's supposed to do and at best might light your clothes on fire. These flesh masses don't wear clothes and we don't know if the magnesium sparks would even embed and catch fire. It'd just be better to give the majority of the team flamethrowers and the rest rifles with spare fuel on their backs

I kind of like the idea that the scp is smart enough to understand that if they keep the drones functional, and show glimpses of whats happening beneath the surface, it will stoke the foundations curiosity, and therefore give them more people to infect

Y'know, I feel like 610 should be one of the "exception" SCPs to the foundation believing in containing anomalies rather than eradicating them. If there's one SCP I think should get a good nuking, it's 610.

Interesting note: I suspect with how the 610 forms attacked only when the buggy arrived (being spawned out of the walls as an apparent "defense measure"), that was what provoked the onslaught. Considering the sarcics not exactly being too fond of high technology, makes sense too why it would be a step too far in one of their belief ridden sites. Ditto for why drones and the likes also got taken out after buzzing around long enough.

Even as a long time SCP fan, one is forced to wonder how the Foundation manages to maintain MTF manpower when they lose a few dozen people every time they want to investigate something. (Obviously we can assume these are the exceptions, not the rule, but still). The idea is they pull members from SF units around the world but the tier 1 operator community is one measured in the hundreds. (Delta is estimated to have only 200-300 combat operatives). I imagine the only reason the Foundation isn’t an open secret is because of amnestics alone.

That is an enigma in itself. They lose so many so quickly in so many documents. There are only so many elite soldiers in the world! They aren’t infinite
