What about the grip in mud or on slippery roots or downhill gravel paths?

Helpful review. Answered lots of questions I had about it, esp the tread. Good video quality, lightning and close ups of the shoe. I’m enjoying Luna middle Bear sandals lately, great vibram grip for wet rocks and enough groundfeel and cushion for thru hiking. A shoe I’m really curious about is the new Ahinsa Chitra Trek&Trail. Has a vibram sole that looks great. I have Ahinsa low cut boots and they are very well made and super wide toe box for total splay. Maybe take a look at it when it comes out soon. Ahinsa is in Czech Republic but I had good customer service and am impressed with their quality.

Thanks! I've been enjoying my new setup so far. _ Good to know, things are thawing near me so I'm ready to get back in sandals. I haven't tried any Ahinsa yet, I really appreciate the recommendation!

I wear Xero shoes for running. It is narrow compared to other minimalist shoes

Wow didn't realize these were so rigid they made even the Excursion Fusion bricks seem flexible. Bad call from Xero. Also 3mm lugs? Vapor gloves have 2.. They need bigger lugs. Also I'm REALLY not impressed with the lug pattern. No variety, no grooves, just some tiny spaced out lugs. Probably terrible in the wet and in complex terrain where you need multidirectional traction. I get the breathable over waterproof call for these since some people like to use boots for hikes in warm climates(not sure why). They will come out with a waterproof version soon according to their CEO so it's good to have options.

Yeah the Xcursion Fusions always felt so stiff to me, yet they're so much more flexible than these!

These are exactly perfect for me, a zero drop boot with more support than traditional barefoot shoes, and they're not waterproof so your feet can dry out if they get wet.

That's great! I'm so glad they're a good fit. I may actually end up revisiting them for my first season of Elk hunting. The extra support may be exactly what I need off trail with lots of weight.

@MovementTrainingCo the extra support for when carrying the weight of a pack is precisely what i was looking for. My only issue with other brands was the lack of a zero drop heel, and everybody is using some sort of waterproofing.
