We have one, I repeat one yard within 50 mi. They pretty much just choose what they want to pay, regardless of what is happening . It seems like taking advantage of people that can't travel that far.... I had 3 people bring in the same amount of the same material, from my shop, all three came back with different amounts, I don't visit that yard .......

I’m hoping copper gets back up to where it was in June. Trump will help sell steel. There’s a ton of steel but defense of Countries takes a lot of steel

I use carts in my shop , I also come across hoyer lifts, lifts used in homes to lift people, rated for 600 lbs or better....... I use washer and dryer drums for scrap, then use the lift to put them on a trailer, I will also throw it on the trailer to lift heavy objects out at pick-ups😂

I know that the brass price is tied to copper. I've been stashing all my brass for more than a year. Do you foresee any increase or maybe a reason for brass to rise or should I just cash in and get what I get.

Tom you had mentioned shopping carts, there's only one problem with that. If you have shopping carts, you have to have paperwork from the company that owns the shopping card. Because technically, if let's just say Walmart, see you have shopping carts And they realize they're missing shopping carts, they could call the police and possibly bring you up on charges of theft, if you don't have the paperwork for those carts Actually, my scrapyard won't take them without paperwork. But you're absolutely right on Commercial construction sites You'll see them all the time.🤠

Instead of using steel for making buildings but instead they want to use cement in 2x4 I thought buildings have to have a building code what materials you have to use to make it

Brass is a form (derivative) of copper and most, not all, of it's price moves come from changes in copper prices. Copper price is presently being tussled between two opposing forces. One the one hand the world economy is slowing dramatically, having a depressing effect on price. On the other hand, price inflation, which is the same as saying currency debasement, is also occuring and acts as a serious push upwards in price. To my eye, it appears that the recent funk to around 4bucks (comex) is the bottom. We had a nice bounce off that level. Copper, and in turn brass, will follow gold in direction not every day, but over the mid and long term, but also not necessarily in magnitude. Gold will lead. Copper will follow.
