He hires these guys because he knows they can’t get other jobs and they can’t complain about the pay because no other job would take them basically they are stupid and he loves it
Whatever you can see she was a looker when she was younger and they've been together for 35 years, she's got to be in her 50s. How many relationships last that long?
This is 1 of my favourite programmes and so is Scrapyard Dynasty. I really wish I could still look around scrapyards, there's always rare and interesting vehicles there.
The wife and I ground out those last hard twenty years of hard work, paid everything off socked away our money, lived very moderately and did not piss off our money on vacations, we stayed home and took care of our business, twenty four seven. Those retirement years are closer then you think so protect yourself and pack away as much money as you can, get along and your going to need each other more then you will ever know when you get old, it takes two to make it through life, thank God you have each other.
pahrahinc live for the now also, save some, enjoy some, we aren’t guaranteed another day so enjoy life while you can, we don’t know what is around the corner, all the best
I saved all my working life now I have to pay tax on my private pension AND my state pension is being docked because I have a private pension at the end of the day I should have gone on fantastic holidays and enjoyed life because the power's that be are making sure I don't enjoy it now
Gorigori Yasno too late for that now, had to kick her to the curb. She tried to convince me to keep an employee who wasn’t performing well, wasn’t bringing in enough to cover his salary, so he had to go. She tried to tell me it was unfair to get rid of him, and then when I fired him, she got upset that I don’t listen to her, told her if she wants to runs business like that, she can open her own. End result was that she had to go, I don’t need a girl who questions my business practices.
Thats a stupid sexist statement, she's being smart with the money as no money for wages = no staff = good luck doing everything yourself. He's stupidly spending money on cars he doesnt need.
Depleted how is it sexist? If I was dating a guy I would do the exact same thing. He built the business, he sacrificed his time, energy and money for it. What has she done? Question his practices, moan, and spend the money he makes for the family. She brings no upside to the business, just a total drain. She can have whatever opinion she wants, but until she builds a business that employs that my people all by herself, she should shut her mouth and not open again unless it is to apologize. If I had a partner who also had a business, I would keep my fucking mouth shut about what they do with their company.
John Bush I get your point but at the end of the day it’s true, if the yard isn’t making money then eventually everyone’s out of the job, and there’s nothing like the prospect of unemployment to motivate a workforce
Zia Smith haha I’d love this to be true imagine the intro instead of ‘by employing lads that no one else will’ it’s ‘by handling goods that nobody else will’ 😂
It should not have been disclosed that there was no cash in the bank, put the staff on a back foot when there was no need, also if you think each week is a gamble on wages it would probably affect the amount of productivity... on saying that, the directors have a nice house/lifestyle and a gaff in the sun...things are not so bad!
It might seem a lot but with 35 workers earning less than average (just rough idea) 20k pounds works out to 700k. Electricity, fuel, taxes, insurance, possibly mortgage payments on the huge lot. Some benefits to the workers. Repairs to the machines or replacement cost , advertisements. Business risk such as failed contracts or times they take a loss are among the operating costs. I would estimate around 1.5mill in operating cost a year. Update: Just watched the second episode and they need about 25k a week to break even making the operating cost around 1.3mill a year.
Because the company was put into liquidation in 2014, which wasn't explained on the show www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/2128914 How they soldiered on until 2018 when the company was eventually dissolved is odd, particularly as no accounts had been submitted since 2013. beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/04363960
"He needs to stop spending money on cars that he can strip and sell so he can pay wages - because I need to spend it on myself, on my Lexus, my hair, all my luxuries"....and she gets the food in her bed. What an appreciative horrible women.
She's around $1,200 a month wife. $150 a month in nails. $60-$70 a month in tanning membership. $150-$200 in haircuts / coloring a month so no roots show. $200-$400 in wardrobe each month. $200-$300 in makeup / creams / lotions 1-2 months. Shes had plastic surgery on her neck and a good bet Botox, he face is "tight" and she has no loose skin under her chin. 4G-10G surgery with reoccurring Botox every few months $100-$1,200. Gym? she looks sort of fit $80-$120 a month.
Terry said it right when he said his mistake was bringing his wife on board. Shit like that can literally break a relationship. His been doing it 15 years, made millions of pounds. His wife comes along, shes been doing it a Minute amd yet she thinks she knows best. Typical woman.
I'm American and I feel like I'm watching EastEnders we got the cafe all we need is a pub and laundrette then we can dip into each of the workers homes for a few side stories
I know. He's cooking up enough to feed a family just for her and what's the point of doing it daily while she's still in bed and comes in later then pretends she's smarter than him with money.
THIS IS A FUCKING SITCOM I SWEAR, holy shit these people are amazing, watching them is like watching friends or some other show, god they're hilarious.
@@easy7828 Me nan's name was Mfanwy, my dad born in greenwich and my last two girl friends were scotish and from the norf so imma pass on which accent I find funniest. lol Sexiest UK accent? #notposh hahaha
Yep but it's gonna cost you 1,000 pounds to get it up to standard to get the MOT (Ministry of Transport) test cert you need to be road legal. Hence there comes a point of no return where it's cheaper to scrap it.
@@simonh6371 What test cert? Is that like an annual safety inspection? Those aren't too difficult to pass if you know what you're doing. I do know Germany has this whole "new tires only" law, so I wonder if it's similar for the rest of Europe.
@@StapleCactus Yep it's an annual roadworthiness inspection for all vehicles more than 3 years old. They aren't too difficult but if your brakes aren't functional, not all of your indicators working, a scratch in the windscreen, and you don't pass. I don't know what ''tyres only'' law you mean in Germany, they have TUV there, in Netherlands it's APK. What you may be referring to in Germany is that it is not a legal requirement to change to winter tyres, in winter, but if you have an accident without them, your insurance will not pay.
Hes the sort person , who give people a chance too change there ways . Allway good to look through a fresh pair eyes . A lot painfully grow- up too do . Good to see a team shaping up , real men working hard ,with purpose in be come family men
I'm in a different business but completely relate to Terry's issues. It's not easy juggling balls to keep everyone happy.the wife, staff, creditors, bank.manager, tax man, council man oh the list goes on only for a little bit extra to spend at xmas. Sometimes you wonder if its even worfit.
In the states we have junk yards all over. You pay a fee to go in and pull the part you need. Pay a fee for the part, go install it. After some time on the lot it gets scrapped. More money for parts. Fewer employees. You do the work pulling. Some do the pulling for you. Just call and tell them whhat you need. They get it and you come by and pick it up at the counter. But to be fair England is much more expensive and restrictive.
for people talking about wages, "how could they be skint" money in the buisness is completeley different to your own personal money. people set up ltd companies so if the buisness goes bust, they arent responsible personally. the last thing u want to do is dip in to your savings to cover buisness expenses, thats how people lose their houses.
i caught a couple of the lads who worked here about to tow my vauxhall vectra away in little lever , bolton...........they got a bit of a shock when i pulled em up !
I admire what they do. It's a big undertaking and they are employing many people who would likely be unemployed otherwise... but at this point you know what your weekly wage bill is. Shouldn't be that hard to keep that in the bank and spend the rest on cars.
Terrys the guy! Providing for people out here, his wife tho don't be spending money sitting their having her hair done every 5 mins,I'd have her grafting in the yard 😊,yes Terry "face like a bag of hacksaw blades"
It was good to watch as it,s something different. Like most things on Television. Over Drama Show. Everything goes wrong right up till the end. Then all of sudden everything is roses again ???? I do not why every show on Television follows the same theme of Over Drama ?????????
I heard once, years ago... If a company leases machines like the crane and crusher they get better rates.. More tax relief and they have to be maintained, repaired or replaced by the leasing company if any problems arise..? Maybe that still applies today? Officially it would be folly to make out anything other than ends aren't meeting.. Government tax and vat vultures always circling etc.. Nice house.. The café is a vital part of the set up.. I don't care what anyone says.. You cannot do a decent days work (physical or theoretical) without hot food inside you at regular intervals.. 22:59 love that blouse or dress.. Black with white hearts.. Not sure about the Des O'Conner wife though? (Orange)
i love what you guys doing..am not experienced in mechanic or such .when it comes to cars all i know is driving bt i would love to know more by may be working with you guys maybe in future i can have my own such business ...wish i can get a chance
Gotta give props to Terry though. Giving everyone a job, a lot of down and outs with a second chance at life. But compassion has its limits if the people you are helping start taking the piss.
"Don't know why he spent all this money on auctions" She says coming in with a new £150 hair cut, £40 nails, £50 of fake tan, a £300 outfit, and most likely upwards of £2000 in jewelry.
That red Honda HRV was intact when he was driving it at 10:38. At 9:46 you've seen he's been smashing it about. Just one headlight off that car is like £50 second hand. Could have sold a ton of other parts off it too. Just wasting perfectly usable items and money.
