100% agree. I've done a few of these. Grab the good boards, wire and any easy to snag motors. Rest of it goes to the shred pile.

I once got a Toshiba commercial copier very similar to this one. I totally micro scrapped it and glad I did. I found alot of hidden electronics in those lower drawers and inside the bottom. Not to mention in the whole the thing weight like 600 or more pounds. So breaking it down into pieces just made everything so much easier to handle. Been lucky to get alot of Toshiba products and the components are always of higher grade than other brands.

Yup, they can be heavy sons-a-guns. Always smart to check the drawers. I frequently find paper.

I've found alot of gold plated data ports in the printers, and usually cut the wire side plugs too, because if the board side has gold pins, then so will the wire plug have gold plated connectors. Nice to see I'm not the only one not afraid to tackle these things!

I have no doubt. As I mentioned in the video, I don't spend a lot of time on these. I get what's easy and fast in order to keep the scrap flowing and have time to spend on the PC's which are my real bread and butter.

1:25 Peripheral High. Low is for boards with extremely low population (that has plenty) or has certain contaminants that preclude it from grading higher.

Yeah I like diving into copiers and printers a little too, the boards can be nice like that main one. Decent alum & copper on the power supplies if the boards are easy to get at. The hard drives are encrypted to use with the copier model so I usually just scrap it. I can get carried away with them though and go all in, taking all the plastic covers off looking for what I can get at. Those copier motors I like to open up to get the copper out, they can be pretty easy to dismantle just need to hammer out the center rod to get them started.

Well, in deed.. As a copier technician, there is not much of scrapp. But as a technician, I remove te boards and motors and keep them. they do not waste space, so they can stay in the basement. when-then they will make me some good money from nothing. To put you in perspective some of this boards I have sold for around 300euros.
