This channel is all about Scrapping and Recycling. My primary business deals with Electronic Scrap ( EScrap ) but I share tons of information on every related to scrapping and recycling. This includes street scrapping, scrapping specific items, how to scrap EScrap, and Return on Investment videos.

I came to see if you were live and realised I think I forgot to comment on this one. We couldn't believe how many boards were in that box, no wonder it had to be on its side! 😲
Question, at 11:00 you depopulate the heat sinks, transformers why not sawzall around the right hand I.C. cut the board off and that would remove the capacitors? Why not break high populated ic/pins areas off, sell them aS perhifial hi grade and the capacitor chunks as mid grade?18:33 is full of pins and ic's, you just said that was high grade? Why not depopulate the junk off and make it all i.c.'s and pins?(Hi grade?)
I'm responding from a hotel room after having evacuated the Asheville area due to TS Helene so unable to provide detailed response to each of your time stamped questions. The question of depopulating or cutting sections of boards to upgrade value is a very good one with lots of considerations. Time is one factor. Should you spend time on trying to squeeze more value from peripheral boards or focus on other more high value inventory? There's also the question of weight. The section of board with the greatest density of IC's and chips usually weighs very little after being cut away. And usually what's remaining is just low grade. Who and how you can sell the material is also important. After you do the cutting or depopulating, do you still have a buyer for the material? Finally, does that work fit your business model. For hobby scrappers/recyclers this is not a consideration but as a business sometimes we make decisions to get less value on somethings to optimize the time we spend on other higher value activities. Sorry I'm not in a position to provide specifics to this video for you but hope this rambling explanation helps.
My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by Helene. I was lucky when Beryl hit here, nothing like what you and your fellow states are going through. Godspeed to all, wish i could leave my job for awhile and go volunteer help, so many need it and our current administration seems extremely slow to provide the help so badly needed at this time. Praying for those in need,Godspeed!
Thank you for your thoughts and desire to help. I keep seeing comments that the government or "this administration" aren't doing enough to help and I don't understand where they are coming from. The city, county, state and federal authorities are doing a great job of coordinating resources and efforts. Everything the local authorities have requested is here or on the way: water, food, fuel, etc. There's something like 95 search and rescue teams out there. The progress on restoring destroyed water systems and electrical grid has been an awesome example of coordinated response from Army Corps of Engineers to FEMA to assistance from out of state utility companies all assisting our local utilities to get us back online. We have a long hard road and I'm thankful for all the support we've received from so many.
Just tell your neighbors you moved from "The East" you wouldn't be lying....just forgetting to mention the part about having to move a little North. 😊 Besides you have more of a Yankee accent than a southern one. I'm curious if the scrap yard contents flowed along the RR track or over it. My advice...follow the tracks then the down hill/mountain flow. How far can gaylords of e waste float in flood waters that ride storms out in turbulent rapids in mountain flash floods? 🤔 💖 from Minnesota 😎
Hey Sharky, just turned in 379 lbs of lead acid batteries. $56.85, for 76 UPS batteries. That's .15 a pound, up from .11 a couple months back. Hope all is good your way. Been watching some videos of the water your dealing with. Stay safe.
I hope the storm didn't get you it would be a shame to move from FL and get hit I moved from FL back to Michigan in June don't miss the FL B S Hope this finds you well Jerry K
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, stay safe brother. It turned before it got to us and came your way. So much destruction all around. Keep us posted.
You buy them after you sort them out? I wonder if most scrap yards would do it that way. I need to start figuring out how to grade boards. I’ve watched 100’s of videos and I have a ton of boards but I’m afraid of shipping them to Boardsort because I don’t want them to think I’m trying to get over on them by having boards in the wrong box. I wish I could send them out though. Great video though. Glad to see you’re back in action after moving
Boardsort understands folks make mistakes and they’ve been at this long enough to recognize mistakes from intentional gouges. Do the best you can. They’ll let you know if they had to regrade things. I still make mistakes at times.
It may be time for shark to upgrade to a trailer and pallet jack coming up to be more efficient. Nice Job Scrapper and i hope you are safe from the Hurricane Showers.
Ikea is 30 miles down the road from you .They have some real nice clear totes just bought 15 of the smaller ones . If Ms Shark go's and brings the pick-nick basket your better put on your walking shoes . Is Lulu topping out 165 and thinks she is lap puppy ?
