This small black toroid is an induction choke, if i read that correctly it's 750uH (micro Henry) so it might be pretty expensive!

M8 from one junky to another ( junky is the term used for us scrappers , since we deal with junk metal , not drugs ) there is nothing that brutal force , lack of k knowledge and a hammer can not fix. Great video keep on scrapping . God bless y'all.

Or just keep an eye on your neighbors spring cleaning - just before I shut my shop down, I added to the haul by grabbing several fans and satellite boxes and dishes being tossed out just on my street. Might keep your missus from hitting the ceiling right away, at least. :D

@unclealsshop4015
@unclealsshop4015 4 года назад
I know a scrap steel export operation going on via rail from the US to Mexico where a company is processing some scrap leftover from the impolsion of old utility company facilities, specifically old coal stacks. They bring in loads of the steel and other scrap in these trucks that have giant bins on them. If you know the scrap bins at any industrial construction, its basically like a super version of the roll on/off bins. They've been piling it for awhile and boom, scrap went down. Their business instantly got quiet. And now they're quickly loading the stuff on rail to send out like 20-25 rail cars at a time. I think they're about to pull the plug in a few months. They rented out a yard from a port who had rail access. The trucks come in to get weighed, dump, weigh out and the equipment on site throws it in a pile but I thought it was weird that the loading of the rail was weighing the trucks again after loading then having them go over to the rail area to dump - double handling the cargo but I never thought of like when Ben mentioned how they may wait for prices to adjust which a cents on millions of tons of steel makes insane profit for a recycler which is great.

The smaller one is a toroidal inductor, same construction than the transformer, but only one winding. Inductors purpose is to block high frequency noise, protecting both the device and the grid from unwanted high frequency noise, which is a common side product of inverters.

I have one of these I pulled apart aboutv2 years ago identical components but mine had an aluminium top like the rest of the box. Everything about this inverter is heavy total weight was 38kg. Has anybody tried to remover the copper from a transformer like this? I still have all the parts dunno what to do it always wanted to see how easy or hard it will be to extract the copper windings

The way most scrap yards work is that they are only paying you 25% to 35% of what they are getting. The Yards are just a Middle Man. I have a connection with a direct processor. Where the stuff is sent by the other scrap yards. But there is a some big draw backs with going to the processor/ distributor. 1. they will only take loads starting at 2 tons or more. And 2. they pay with a business check via direct deposit. So you have to have a business license to deal with them. But it is worth going direct as a business to get paid 4 times the avg. street value is.
