Absolutely cool video. Super impressed with your scrapping venture. I go scrapping on a bike, yes a bicycle. And, I think you'd be v. surprised at the quantities of copper cable that I can accumulate. I strip the plugs as well and here in Ireland the plug pins are the really big chunky ones, so value there as well. And yeah, seriously impressed with your scrapping venture there. Liked and subbed.

Hi, two things, you need to get a lightweight impact driver to make it easier to remove the screws. And you can get a selection of plug removal tools for very little money, from China.

These modules at 30:44 are VRMs (voltage regulation modules). They're required for each CPU on the Board. Sometimes one of them is mounted directly on the mb and only if the second cpu slot is populated a 2nd vrm is needed.

The FR marking on plastic can also indicate that the plastic is fiber reinforced for strength. The number following indicates the amount of fiber in the plastic

Get rid of that drill and go buy a impact. They are a lot faster plus they last longer. I have had mine for years. Works amazing for scrapping.

Ben you need to look at Makita TD090D pistols drills they are small and light. Great for just taking screws out. I use them for scrapping and all my electrical work. Happy scraping

For the parts that do work, (motherboards, cards, etc.) could you make more money by selling them through Ebay, rather than scrapping them? Or is it just too much of a hassle?

As an IT guy, seeing you tear down those Cisco switches was physically painful. From $10,000 new to < $10 in scrap - that's just the circle of life for enterprise-grade computer equipment. There's just no such thing as warranty support or replacement parts on proprietary systems that have been out of production for the better part of a decade. Even if it's still more than sufficient for just about any application.
