Scrapping pallets is a service to those companies who do not recycle and do not reuse shipping pallets. / scrappalletman Be awesome, stay awesome - do your thing.
Had you considered selling them direct to a business that needs them instead of taking them to a wholesaler (pallet yard)? Cut them out and charge a direct buyer 5 - 10/pallet. Out of those 1st 9 pallets, you would have made $45 - $90. Out from the stored batch you have in your shed you would have netted close to $215, all by cutting out the middle man.
It would take two days and a whole bunch of hassle. No way. like in any business, there's a thousand different directions we can all go but we need to focus on a few and do it well. Pedaling pallets to many different retailers certainly ain't my gig. What's the retailer wanted fifty a month? Where would I get?
Hi, I just started watching you and find it very encouraging. I am a 70 year old woman and now that I am retired I need a little revenue on the side. I only have the energy to pick cans and bottles. I still have a vehicle so I can pick a lot in one day. It is the mind set I find hard sometimes. It is getting easier and watching you helps a lot. Thank you for sharing your days.
I think this is one of the best videos I have seen that you have made. Oh if people only realized that once you mess your back up that you cannot undo the damage. Sure, there is surgery, but who wants to go through that and most people that I know, who have had back surgery, it’s never ending. I have had scoliosis since I was 14 years old. I have had to learn, through the course of my life, how to do things differently...like using leverage for instance, and not actually lifting. Most people don’t know how to not hurt themselves. You are giving such valuable information and I hope people are REALLY listening! Thank you for being so kind as to share this info with your viewers. 😊👍🏻
ya good info on the twist repetition moves. I used to twist my knees getting on and off my motorcycle with mass repetition. Hurt them both and took 5 years to heal one all the way, 98% anyway lol. I do a little hop skip twist in the air move now...
Good video. I just started watching your channel. Chep USA (blue) pallets and Peco (red) pallets are both 4 way pallets. Not two way. They have that massive area (more Chep than Peco) to slide forklift forks or pallet jack forks. I've done both as I have 18+ years in the grocery industry! When pallets come in on the trailers they are staggered. One side ways and one length wise. That rotation charges every row. I've discovered it's just as easy to stab the width wise sideways and just pull it off the trailer. A little wider, but watch what your doing and you'll do fine.
Great video I'm starting to re-purpose the 2x4's on skids rather than buy stock 2x4's from Lowe;s and Home Depot for my Airbrushed Art cornhole game Sets, great money saver, those frame boards are much better quality than their stock boards, there is no sorting hours finding straight ones. I think they must run the skid boards though a planer, they are that level and squared, thanks again great video.
I like your philosophy on what your service is and I know the feeling of not wanting to look shady driving behind the stores. Do you ever go inside and talk to anybody about taking pallets on a regular basis. Right now I do this just to have spending money for myself but maybe I can store them in my garage and do this more aggressively. Anyways nice videos you do and you seem like a really good dude. God bless you friend.
Ron Solivais thanks Ron. I don't normally go into any stores asking, but if someone is out back I'll talk to them and ask. Often times they say take them. They usually set them by the dumpsters so pallet recyclers grab them instead of going into the dumpsters.
awesome!the blue chep pallets are owned by chep, they rent thm out, they now some are going to get lost so they have a deposit on them, they pay 1.25 each to pick up at your location or 2.50 each if you want to bring to them,if interested call the number on the side of the pallet-peace
tell us when was the last time chep paid you a deposit.I could get tractor trailer loads that were going to the landfill.Chep said they would pick them up. When I asked for a deposit they said I would receive $0 for them. .so they went to landfill.
I drove for in hunt and we contracted with chep pallets to haul them to and from their different compacts that were good customers we also hauled their white pallets to be destroyed in a pallet crushers
Nice route with a good haul. I use to scrap pallets during my hour lunch break or down time during deliveries. My places to check were warehouses nearby, I would drive up and ask if they had a designated guy that recycled, which some did so I didn't load up, but I did find places that said it was first come so I would load up. Eventually I had a set route of warehouses along the way to the yard that I could collect from. The yard I recycled at paid $5 for pallets in great condition, I would take 16-24. Always had LUNCH or GAS $. Good times and a little exercise.
@@ScrapPalletMan I Apologize to you. I Thought you were Someone Else, this man was BRAGGING about ALL The Money........Somehow ur Vid Slipped in, I am Sorry!!! I Got Nothing But Respect for Someone with a Hustle!!!
Never cash in signs you can go on ebay and sell them for$100 of dollars check the champs on work ever ok that is your lesson learned for today example that Burger King sign you picked up by the way I been watching you for about 4 month and I love every thing about it Mr God has blessed your soul
A person with the correct mindset would think 100 or 200.00 can make miracles happen. A storage unit isn't inexpensive so if the pallets alone pay to have a storage place, and it can be used for much more. I say smart!
At start of video I used to rebuild those pallets. The guy was rebuilding them for was getting 20 per pallet and I was rebuilding 200 of them a day. It’s good money working pallets
from south africa....hahaheeehaha, ticket for "loaded to spill"....oh gawsh, definately won't work here....once saw with my own 2 eyes, an entire, live cow...yip a cow... tied and trussed to the roof of a 15 seater bus, going to the "homeland"......
So if you see pallets on the back side of a business u just grab them? Or only ones out by dumpster... I just started dumpster diving but interested in pallet info
I live in Sask. Canada we have a company that makes pallets that are painted blue. There is a $15.00 deposit paid per pallet by the stores. If the pallets are returned they receive there deposit back. The small stores don't return them because it's not worth there time to return a couple pallets. I have a route that takes about two hours to cover and I do it weekly.
I usually pick up between eight to ten a week. Free gas for the week. There some stores with hundreds of them. The pallets are really well made and heavy.
Great safety tips. Back pain is the worst. I know because of an accident when I was young. Now that Im older it has come back to haunt me. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
Dude...all that ..and YOU DIDNT LOWER THE TAILGATE TO BEGIN WITH 🤔⁉️....good ticket information though...and yes...when your front wheels are off the ground....your trucks gonna handle differently😝
Hate to burst your bubble but a Colorado isn’t considered a half ton truck but really good information I have a F350 1 ton and a gooseneck considering getting into this for a little side money
So how much do you get for the pellets you never showed that on your videos I see you load them up but I never actually see you take them anywhere to get the money for them
Last question 😂😄 could pallet selling be a full time job ? Like not using a long flat bed trailer but a 20ft utility trailer for hauling maybe 400 pallets a week
Gene Brewster I'm not sure what you are saying but I do lower the tailgate to get a second stack of pallets. I'm only comfortable with about 12 pallets on each stack as I'm driving. I've gone as high as 14 or 15 but it makes the truck drive odd

i guess i actually took my first vids down and re-edited them and republished. I had told u the other day that i turned them private. My very first vid was the gold from electronics video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OqOy2i8fzzo.html. I have never even operated a smartphone, lol, I didnt even talk in my vids until part way through my 9th video! So ya, dont be worried about any of your beginning skills. It is a process of leaming things which just happens. Adding google adsense ads and affiliate ads like amazon links and stuff down the road is interesting....
You're actually picking those pallets up the wrong way !..... You're making it more difficult for yourself....pick them up from the top side....that way, they are easier to put down...you can do it in one easy move. Try it , you'll see what I mean. :-)
Each to their own method I suppose.....I always pick them up with the top side towards me....easier to just slap them down onto the stack. I heard you say that you're 49.... I'm 61 and I've never hurt my back by doing it the way that I've suggested. I enjoy watching your videos anyhow. :-)
It's best on your back to carry loads close to your body. With the load further from your body you're putting more strain on your back to counterweight that. Not good. I know what you mean though, it's a convenient method. I do it on occasion and regret it for about a week every time.
Scrap & Pallet Man ok, I got 9 months to go lol. But I heard you only need to be 16 to go to the metal scrap yard, do u know if that’s true or the age?
It doesn't matter the age there is some folks that buy them out there back yard and flip them to major competitors you just have look around follow the pallet collector 😂
