BRM's (British Railway Modelling magazine) Phil Parker talks you through some of his collection of scratch-built model railway locomotives. You can watch more of Phil's videos at www.world-of-railways.co.uk
A nice video, but the title gave me the impression that the video is about scratch building. Instead it’s more of a what to look out for when buying kit built locos. Even the description describes Phil’s four kit built locos as “scratch built!”
@Cumberland Sausage That’s true, but the point I was making is the video’s title should have been something like “A quick guide to buying kit built locomotives” rather than mentioning scratch built.
Ok it's interesting but it should really be titled "what to look for when buying second hand kit built model railway locos", has zero scratch built info in here :-(
Nice video. Its intresting to see the different locomotive kits that are available. And yes not all locos are made in RTR. I have noticed that there are not alot of RTR steam locomotives here in Australia thats why there is alot of kits. Nicely explained.
when he said about having a live chassis . because one side is insulated and one isn't . the thing is then you can't do dcc then u need both sides including the the chassis being insulated
