I offer a suggestion on how to build the odd-looking microwave signal transmitter drums for your transmission tower. First, go to your nearest home improvement store (Lowe's/Home Depot/Ace, etc.), and look for 1/4" O.D. (or 3/8" O D.) 90° elbow plastic pipe fittings; they're a buttermilk color used for refrigerator water supply lines. For the conical extrusions on the bottom of each microwave transceiver, consider purchasing cake icing/frosting decorator tips that can be found at either Walmart, Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Each of the microwave transceiver drum surfaces can be made by tracing, then cutting the circle pattern of an elbow fitting from a thin styrene sheet.

Amazing work! Been watching since the your channel first began and it’s been a privilege to see your modeling work advance over the years. As a tip to help you with fabricating complicated shapes, if you have to make a whole bunch of one complicated shape, consider scratch building a master and then making a mold of it to cast the rest. Should save time and money. Might help when you tackle the rest of the radio tower.

Always inspiring to see your work. I have learned alot from you over the years and you have really made me want to weather all of my rolling stock and learn new scenery techniques. I really want to make some of those trash gondolas some day and am currently making a bunch of CSX GP40-2 slug mother/slug sets from scratch. I have yet to get the courage to make a building as unique as that but hey I am more of a operating guy at my club. I hope to some day get as good as you at all your awesome weathering and scratchbuilding level. Thanks for all you do Dan!

Looks very good! That looks like a old AT&T microwave tower they’ve converted it into a cell tower. Looks good. You do awesome work in this model industry.

The structure between the building and tower is to protect the communication from falling ice, plus the tower because of its height needs a warning light

you were born way too late LOL... you would fit right into the old guard era of the early 80s when EVERYTHING (and i mean everything) that looked good was scratchbuilt (or you were forced to buy BRASS)... back then nothing modern was available... classic modelers like eric brooman of utah belt were scratchbuilding SD40-2s from old athearn SD45 shells well before athearn made the FIRST production40-2s... this generation is spoiled as there is so much good stuff ready for purchase and put right into service out the box... but me i'm looking for ANYTHING that's built up and looks good... if it fits my scheme i'm buying it... no patience to scratchbuild so anytime i see others do it i'm ALWAYS impressed
