The new versions of the old songs are pretty harmonic, but the older ones were unintentionally funny thanks to the imperfect voices, mostly Melody's voice, their voice could get some little tweaks, but being able to understand them is already a big step in the right direction
i like to think that behind the lore of the Rensa song is that Puyo Puyo's are blocking the road and they called her to take care of them, that's when Melodii shows up and the rest is history
My head cannon is that Rensa is a kind of witch that uses magic to fight off the Puyos (who are an invasive species that cause chaos by piling up everywhere). It makes sense for me because she says her ancestors taught her how to do it (it's a generational problem) and also because the Puyos said they don't give a care (they are aware of it).
What if.... (THEORY TIME): On the way to the Nitrofunk internship in Uptown Jamwell, the Danish suddenly breaks down near the Supastar Tennis court, and once they call a mechanic or smth, Melodii and the Sweetz Siblings (and eventually Jamtine) play tennis while they wait for the repairs. Eventually the Danish is fixed and they move along. However quadropedal creatures of many colors called Beans (confirmed canon names lol) seem to invade the part of town, and Rensa's trying to wrangle them all so she can pop 'em, Puyo Puyo style. But there's so many that she can't do it alone, and so Melodii offers to help. (Nami seems to be done with her shift btw, explaining why she has 2 cameos in the song). Afterward, Rensa's incredibly tired and takes a breather once all the Beans are popped, probably with Nami doing her hair for relaxation purpose. Rensa states she's glad it's over with and thanks Melodii for the help. Now LJ (creator) once Retweeted a Tweet asking whom would win in a fight (Melodii vs. Boyfriend) and mentioned, I quote: "The ppl saying "BF bc he can actually throw hands in canon" when they see the 3rd rival battle of Act 2" and put that one GIF of Squidward going "Ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-tooonight?", implying it's gonna be a fight-related song. I'm legit excited to see that tbh
are people really hating on the new vocals??? that's literally what I keept fangirling about the demo :( actually I fangirled in the whole demo LOL 5 month later edit: after a while I realized some vocals aren't that good tbh... Jamtine for example, the old one was way better.
they made more realistic voices and now it sounds like weird vocals with music over them that have 0 connection between. Most thing ruined in nami.wav when they have duo parts and their voices doesnt connecting the vibe at all, especially change at 2:44 ruined all my opinion about new songs.

The new vocals are REALLY good, even if in places they don’t…really blend well. Only voice I think needs work is Synth McWave’s, man STILL sounds too robotic.
I just don't really like the new stir and mix vocals but it's still nice , I just miss the old Jamtine vocal where she sounded like Remy Remington's European Portuguese voice , though it's still nice.
Superstar tennis is SENDING ME!!! I usually hate when songs get stuck in my head but when this song gets stuck in my head, I am in a good mood. I do love jamtines new voice!! I love EVERYONES new voices honestly. You can hear them more clearly and I love it. Though I do imagine Jamtime with a bit of a higher voice but this one still works a lot and I still adore her voice and everyone elses! Genuinely cannot wait to play this :)
Went back to the 2022 version of stir & mix to directly compare. The new version lacks that odd robotic harmonic element to jamtine's voice, which just happened to work really well - the actual vocal inflections of the old version are very flat (the only really prominent one being the final "i wanna") the new version flows far more naturally and has much greater emotional range but the actual soundscape feels a bit emptier because of the missing generation artefacts that Jamtine's old voice practically relied on.
Wasn't Vocaloid already mainstream? That's like asking who Ozzy Osbourne is and thanking Post Malone for bringing more unknown artists into the spotlight.
The one complaint I keep seeing is how people hate the voice changes, to the point where they think this new update is horrible I personally don’t get it, sure the older version has a more nostalgic feeling. But literally you could NOT understand characters most of the time(especially the first song thank god it was changed, sounds really great and more in character now)which this update actually fixes. That with all the updated graphics and I’d say this is THE definitive way to play this atm. Also just wanna bring this up but literally the main complaint of the last demo was literally the voices, and now that they’re changed to sound better people wanna complain about it? I don’t really understand but hey
Honestly I think all the new voices are great! Rensa especially like WOW. I did NOT know that was Gumi’s voice bank. Nami.wav went from my least fave to one of my faves, cream cheese icing definitely sounds much better, and grease poppin is much better tuned. The only one I wish they could fix to return back to the original or just keep vocal inflections is for Jamtine. Thats it cuz yes the vocaloid is clearer, but vocally, very flat. The previous one had better vocal inflections, if you listen to both of them, especially on parts like “love is such a fickle thing”, for the older one its a clear up down vocal range, while the new one is just flat. I really think i’d like the new stir and mix now if they added those vocal inflections. I think all the songs could probably up the vocal inflections now they got the clarity, Rensa’s is like a perfect example of how good the inflections are just MWAH her songs perfect, absolutely love it. I know i was critical in another comment with Jamtines vocals but I hope I can at least explain my side, especially after being in vocal classes, festival for singing, exc. its something i just picked up on needing to hear yknow
@@ghostgirl7089 that’s definitely understandable, jamtime is really the one that I can agree on being better before aswell. Though I do like the “I LOVE YOU🗣️” part better than the older version specifically because they add that a sorta echo that I don’t think was there before
I finally went to check the old versions of the songs and some of the voices genuinely sound like high-pitched mumbling compared to the new voices. Idk why people are complaining about the voices of all things, not that theres anything to complain about in general.
ESPECIALLY MELODII'S VOICE, I was thinking the difference wasn't too big until I tried to actually tell what the orignal Melodii voice was saying, great change for the voices imo.
personally i wasnt that big of a fan of stir and mix originally but god jamtines voice is so adorable its impossible not to smile whilst listening to it now
Will you guys chill out. Its just a damn demo, the changes will happen and some changes might go back to the original. That's what a demo is, something that isn't official and gets changed alot until the creator thinks its actually the content that they want to post😑
Honestly I think that they didn’t need to change Jamtine’s voice. I like the old version a whole lot better than the new one. She just had more inflections in her voice in the old one than this new one. Like for the part where she says “love is such a fickle thing” her voice sounds very flat now compared to her old one that had so much variation. I will say though I love Rensa even though she just was introduced and I hope they use her again. Her design is so gorgeous and i love her voice
@@YABOIMIKEYBOI oh god so true. Honestly, besides stir and mix, every songs visuals, sound, its all better and a HUGE improvement. I wasn’t a huge fan of Nami.wav before but man I love the way she says “peace, loops, and ascension” I could listen to that part on loop.
I really enjoy how they gave Melodii a more consistent sound to their voice in this update! Their voice feels more like their own now, rather than something that a tool (like Vocaloid) was obviously used to fill in.

I dont see the problem with the first song getting a major rework, its more fitting to the characters, it stablishes their personalities better, the vibe fits the game more while the song doesnt lose it's tutorial-y feel to it Nami.wav sounds clearer, and you can spot some attempts to make it sound more like a cover of the song that was made sometime after the first release Stir and mix I think is the only one that i'm not pleased, mostly because we lost some of jamtine's inflections that were interesting and expressive (e.x the "love is such a fickle thing" bit) but it still does a good job at improving pronunciation Aaaand oh boy, I can finally understand melodii in Grease poppin' without substitles, thats a win on my book.
Honestly, I kinda liked old Jamtimes voice a bit more, she sounded almost like a Yandere and Melodi sounds older instead of a 12 year old at some parts. Still love the songs tho and the new animations for some of the songs
@@Neurotix-0 tbf some of them prefer the older song cus those songs stuck to them for a long time. give them some times and they might appreciate this version more (even the creator, LJ Lephemstar, himself stated on twitter)
I’m pretty sure it’s just because we’re all weirded out by the changes. For some reason we as a species tend to prefer what was there first, and be hostile to change, regardless of whether or not the change is good.
I know it was originally a sort of second "tutorial" but I really didn't like all the empty space in the first song, so I'm really glad it feels like an actual song now Also it kinda felt weird for Cinnabay to say "yo DJ this kid has bars" after you've only hit like, maybe four buttons total 😂
I’m gonna rub in the fact that the BGs are SO MUCH better now. Last year, a lot of people were complaining about the BGs and how plained they seemed, I agreed with that too. The lighting isn’t prominent and Melodii used to stick out like a sore thumb in the bird’s eye view of the town. Also the bird’s eye view really screwed it up since it didn’t make the town look “lively” or the sort. Now that it’s changed, you can definitely see how they improved. The lighting is visible, especially in Melodii’s house, more objects are interactive now. The camera perspective is changed to a closer shot to Melodii and I can tell how it helps with showing the newer, improved version of the town. I’m not sure how to describe it, but it’s sort of how in Melodii’s perspective, we can see how lively and populated the town is, you know? Sorry, I went on a ramble, nobodys talking about the backgrounds and it’s driving me crazy!
I feel like the voice change complaints can easily be solved by having the "first demo Audio" as unlockables via use of an item. In Pokemon HGSS there is an item that lets you switch to the gameboy track instead, but it is a post-game item. So maybe in post-game here Melodii is tasked with a basic fetch quest and their reward is something like an old mic or cassette tape and that unlocks the og vocals as an option for the original demo songs.
I'm kind of surprised to hear that ppl are freaking out over this update? It seems like all the songs had moderate to major improvements, except for maybe Stir and Mix, and I love the two new songs!
9:00 If you look closely at the feet of Cinnabay a star appears, that's a little easter egg to the Sonic and Sega sneakers where characters also charged an ultimate ability when their star was fully charged
It's so cool seeing all the characters interact, especially with the 2nd wave of songs. It makes you feel like they are a community rather than just one-off opponents like in FNF

These remastered songs are amazing especially the 2nd one but tbh the 1st song in the original sounded better than the remaster one (just an opinion dont be mad at me, the last song of this recent one is the best tho)
