The film is devoid of the SCREAM movies DNA. Bad script, plotholes all over, forced emotionality, inferior characters, terrible acting (Ortega included). You cannot camouflage all the before mentioned with flashy kills. Many cringe moments, felt an insult at times. I feel Neve (and David) dodged a bullet to be frank.
@@brotherchason Not at all. Fans tell me they hope Williamson will have the rights to the franchise again in the future and will get things back on track. Hopefully ignore 5 and 6. Time will tell
I agree but I do enjoy 5 and 6 quite a bit I just hope they chill on the meta commentary and focus more on the whodunnit aspect. Make it more of a mystery and less predictable
It was also boring and so generic retreading what's already been done in the franchise for nostalgia points, they simply can't make the story stand on its own. The obvious references to the originals (punching Gale, end shot of 5, Red Right Hand etc) are just annoying because it's a worse copy of what was already achieved. Give me some originality and creativity please, even if it fails at least it's interesting.
Just watched Scream 6 and yeah I am shocked at the reviews saying how good it is. It is average. Nothing we have not seen before. I will say near the end I actually said in the cinema oh ffs and someone looked at me and nodded as if to say I agree. If it was a one off movie never seen before then yes its good, but this is not a good Scream movie.
@@TRIGMASTER06 Oh it’s all good. I just mentioned spoilers for my comment, so people who haven’t seen the movie know to not read it. But yes I agree with you!
It was strong in some scenes but weak in others. It's baffling to me that you have the movie set in new York and still manage to mess it up. I honestly think that there should have been a death in a phone booth or something to really set the New york vibe. Also, there needed to be A LOT more characters to round out the suspects, considering the fact that there were 3 ghostfaces. I believe that the reason why there weren't that many people in the friend group, is because of rushed script writing. I refuse to believe that the team actually cared about making enough characters to round out the suspect because they wanted to get straight to filming. I hope that for Scream 7, they take their time to make decent characters and gory kills. Also have chase scenes that use the London setting and have a scene in a phone booth! As for scream 6, I believe that Anika should've lived, and Mindy should've died on the ladder. It would have made Anika seem like an actual person, and not just another kill. It would also mirror scream 2 with randy dying. There's also too many legacy characters/ survivors. This means that in the enxt movie, they are most likely going to have a previous survivor be the opening kill. I'm looking forward to an opening kill in a christmas store like fear streets opening. I also think that Quinn should've had a fakeout nearing the end of the movie in the finale, because nearing the end, there were close to no characters to round out the suspects. Yes there were more kills in this movie, but most of them were just side characters/ nothing characters. Gales boyfriend also only had 2 lines and immediately got killed. Terrible movie in my opinion.
I agree with this but I'm glad they're back instead of no new screams being released. The new entries despite flawed writing are still very entertaining.
Heh, same thing happened years ago. Avatar 1 did the 3D thing very well and for years after that every movie was released on 3D, even if the nature of the movie didn't justify it or if the quality of the 3D was trash. Just for the extra bucks on the ticket price.
I don't think it was bad but it wasn't great either. On second watch it felt like we were intentionally supposed to know officer bailey was the killer because of how obvious it was. Also after every kill we get a scene with bailey coming in making smart remarks about the killings. I thought that was cool I give it a 3.5 out of 5 for scream 6 the stabbings weren't that Gorey like 5 was.
For me it's unrealistic when even ghostface in the store everyone just dumb why doesn't anyone try to ambush him or throwing anything at the killer i mean he just one person it's like this movies want people's to be coward
Yo Gavin Evans!! First-time poster, long-time lurker. I guarantee you you had a better experience than I did tonight... I just got out of Champions. Holy fuck what a stinker haha
@@gavinevans1687 Yeah, it had some mildly subversive moments, a few laughs, and some cool shots, but it was the worst kind of a predictable movie (not only in terms of what happens, but within the first 30 seconds of almost every scene you knew exactly how it was gonna play out). Have you seen Mrs. Doubtfire? You should review that movie; it's an excellent dramedy with my favorite Robin Williams performance ever!
@@BreezyFoSheezy69 I have but it's been so long that I don't really have an opinion on it. One month, I will definitely do a Robin Williams review series!!
That's not it. He had a more confident vision. The balance between comedy and horror was masterful, and he approaches the meta angle in a pitch perfect manner that no one else comes remotely close to. Radio Silence did direct Ready or Not, a movie that I love which also balanced horror and comedy perfectly, but that's not the case here. Ideally, they'd be the perfect choices to take over the franchise but they haven't gotten anywhere close to the level of quality with these movies. They definitely have the potential to do so, so I hope they get there next time.
Yeah that’s definitely the only reason he hates it. You people try to make up any excuse you can for these trash movies. It was bad man just accept that. Has some entertaining bits but from an objective standpoint this was not a good movie.
One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen and I’m not even lying. I’d rather be kicked in the nuts by 30 guys wearing steel toe boots than watch that abomination ever again!
