I own the box set that looks like a first aid kit on DVD. I bought it at Best Buy in like 2002 or something. I used to rent part 3 on VHS back in the 90s from select video in NY. That's my favorite one for nostalgic reasons. Party all night, Teenage wasteland!

We need a 4k box set of sleepaway camp that includes Return To Sleepaway Camp.

Fortunately I’ve the first aid kit from Anchor Bay and the 3 Blu-ray with slipcover as it has been one of my fave series

I went back and forth on these for awhile before I finally just gave in and ordered them for a stupid price. I sincerely love these films and I agree that it is a shame that these movies are kind of lost to a lot of collectors. Great video on the topic.

We need this awesome trilogy released on 4k immediately. We need posters with them as well. Never spend $100 for 1 movie on eBay. If these ever release on 4k, I'll be pre-ordering day 1. I actually just recently spent $120 on Sleepaway Camp merch😄

I stumbled upon the slip editions for II and III mint in a trade-in pile freshly packed and placed out on the shelf for $17 each at an FYE about 5 years ago when they were OOP but not as crazy rare as now. Snagged the slip for the original off of eBay shortly after for $20. Was so happy to have completed the trilogy with slips in amazing condition before the slips started going for hundreds. Awesome fun slashers! Great video man.

Everything gets rereleased. It’s only a matter of time. Also, if you’re region free these are available in the UK for cheap.

Yeah just looked Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3 Scream blu rays are going for insane prices. So glad I have the two still brand new and sealed and I that cracked the 88 films blu rays to watch instead.

Sleepaway Camp 2 has been my favorite movie since I first saw it in 6th grade (I saw the first one in fifth grade and needless to say I was so confused and traumatized) but in 2015 when I was in high school I had my mom pre order 2 and 3 with the slipcovers and the posters that came with it. But before all that when it was announced I messaged Scream Factory on Twitter and asked them if they would be able to use the end credit song (desperate to survive) and put it for the main menu sound and they said they’ll look into it. Then when I put in that Blu-ray for the first time I was so happy what my ears heard when the main menu screen popped up😂

Awesome video Planet CHH hope you're well my awesome friend . i love Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3 and ❤ Pamela Springsteen ❤ . it breaks my heart that i do not have these film in my physical Mania collection . I don't get why some actors hate the roles made him famous 😢 . i real hope some one reissues these films some or some will sale them to me at a reasonable price .

I want to add to the speculation, as I believe Pamela Springsteen is irrelevant towards the availability of these movies, but I have other theories: 1. MGM isn't the sole copyright holder. Many of the MGM titles are co-owned by Sony, 20th Century Fox, other partners, etc. If Disney obtained sole or partial ownership of the Sleepaway Camp sequels in their 20th Century Fox acquisition we might be screwed. 2. Scream Factory bought the license in a package deal from the licensor so the licensor may only sell these titles exclusively as a package. 3. A botique company may currently hold the licenses and are possibly even performing a restoration right now, but are keeping quite about acquiring these titles. Or they may be trying to acquire the license to the original so they can release all 3 as a set. Thankfully I have the Scream Factory Collector's Editions of Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3 with the slips, as well as the Anchor Bay DVDs, but this is why I implore people to hold on to their physical media. Hopefully news of a new 4K remaster will break soon.

I was lucky enough to score slip cover complete copies of all three last year for retail cost!

Pam springsteen was also in fast times at Ridgemont High. She played one of the cheerleaders. Do you remember the scene where Stacey was telling Mike that she was pregnant? Pam springsteen played the cheerleader that Mike was trying to sell cheap trick tickets to on the bleachers. I don't know if she's got that kind of Pole. But it's weird that you mention that because you never see Patricia. Arquette talking about nightmare on Elm Street 3, either. Didn't amazon buy MGM's catalog? If so that could be why.

I have the SF blu rays of Sleepaway Camp 2-3 with the slips, I bought them way before they went OOP.

I’m so glad I grabbed these when I did. I actually bought them right when they first went oop. I managed to grab 3 off of amazon right before it disappeared and I found 2 on eBay for only $30

Kino Lorber has the rights to 2 & 3 & they publicly said on a post they have no plans on releasing them because they suck smh I’m lucky enough to have all 3 with slips from Scream Factory & 2&3 from 88 films which have different special features. I’ve heard Pamala Springsteen is embarrassed of these movies which is why she won’t acknowledge them 🤦🏻‍♂️

I could be wrong but last I heard Kino Lorber had acquired many titles from MGM but MGM would only sell if they included some otherwise out of place titles in KL catalog and those included both the SC sequels. KL took the deal and Supposedly they have no intention of releasing them. This was like a year ago so anything could’ve happened since then. Don’t take my word for it.

if I had those they would be sold ASAP...within minutes Scheme or preferrably another boutique label can announce these in 4K and the value will drop 95% immediately.

From what I have read about this online Kino Lorber had the rights two years ago to 2 and 3 (or just 3 not sure) and there were no plans to release on 4k due to issues and finger pointing at Scream Factory. There was some threads about it on reddit a while back so who knows what the deal is now. Also it was reddit so the information and ops on reddit may be highly suspect.

I have part 2 and 3 on DVD.

It could be music, people speculate that the reason Trick or Treat (1986) has taken so long to get a release is due to the licensing issues with the Fastway soundtrack, and us horror fans would probably not appreciate a release that doesn't include the original songs. 88 Films releases didn't have the best transfer, but they're doing much better releases now and loads of 4Ks so I'm really hoping they'll announce a 4K. It was released on an obscure label in the UK when I had the VHS back in the day, so it's probably been passed around a lot over here.

I hope these get 4K releases at some point. My older brother has been wanting them badly. I've had mine since day one.

I saw someone else mention this, but yes-I remember KL having the rights in 2021 and people tweeting at them asking if they’d release it, and they said they didn’t any interest in releasing “that garbage” 💀

I’ve been holding off on buying the Blu-rays because with my luck as soon as I do they will get announced for 4K or a rerelease.

I remember seeing some news footage of Pamela Springsteen behind the scenes of SC2. All I remember is that she says a couple things about how production is going but that's about it. It's really nothing impactful. Hopefully she'll be willing to shed some light on this issue in the future and is able to reminisce about her time working on the film. I think a lot of people are weighing in on buying these SF Collectors Editions particularly for the supplements. Apart from the film itself the 88 Films releases are pretty bare-bones in terms of supplements. The DVD collection had a fair amount of interesting special features but even that's been OOP for more than a decade or two now. My ultimate dream would be for someone to give these films a proper re-release whether it be a standard BluRay or a UHD release. Vinegar Syndrome would be the perfect label to give these films a new life, they do have licenses for some MGM releases but so do many other labels. It's not definitely out of the realm of possibility though considering they're both akin to most of their schlocky catalog. Sorry for the essay Chris, I really appreciate you talking about this. I've always wondered in the back of my head as to why these films haven't gotten a new release yet. I'm crossing my fingers that some label will bring us some good news regarding them in the near future. Awesome vid as always!

This might be a good question to ask Michael Felsher next week when he's on Deadpit's channel. I heard Kino grabbed 2 and 3 awhile back but for some reason aren't releasing them, not sure if there's truth to that or rumor. If a 4K trilogy box set ever gets released I'll probably upgrade them, if not I'm perfectly happy with my Scream Factory editions with slips.

It seems like a lot of the MGM catalog for both scream factory & arrow video disappeared around the same time sleepaway camp 2 & 3 did. Some have returned like amytivile horror & from beyond went from scream to vinegar syndrome. While some are still missing like killer klowns from outer space despite hearing that movie was gonna get a 4k release like almost 2 years ago. I really hope sleepaway camp 2 & 3 get a new release because I could use another copy of all three after I left them on my table & a guest accidentally dropped a cup of water on them leaving the sleeveE completely destroyed🤦. My lession I learned is never leave your blu-rays, steelbook, 4k, or limited collectors editions never any liquids.

I almost thought 🤔 about paying ridiculous money for numbers 2&3. I decided definitely not to spend like $300 for them.

im thinking something had to of happen on set that makes her not wanna talk about these movies, idno.. seems weird to completely ignore them the way she has.... She has absolutely no pull with any licensing issues.

Sorry. The only one worth watching is Sleep away Camp. Parts 2 and 3 suck. Personally, 4 is fun in my eyes even though it sucks.

TBH, I hate the original movie so I have never seen the sequels. I know I’m in the minority here
