First time I've seen this fine and important detail. Printing is easy, centering a shirt is an art!

Awesome tips. I just realized that I do take to long to load shirts. Can't believe I haven't thought about having the print side of the shirt down on the table to make loading faster. Thanks.👍👍

Good tips Cam! I never worked in a print shop before I started mine 7-8 years ago. Loading correctly takes a lot of practice. I still wouldn't call myself proficient. Your grab is a bit different than mine, and I'm going to give it a shot. Very efficient!

My two cents, I find that if I set the shirt print side up with the bottom opening of the shirt facing away while having a stack of shirts halfway off the cart, so the bottom is closer. Next, I pull the shirt from the bottom right and running your other finger next to the other and as you are turning and sliding your left-hand finger, opening the bottom wide enough to shove the shirt to the back of the platter. For shits and giggles, I tried to apply your technic but found it adds a second to the whole process, but I think with practice, yours should be just as fast. I hope this alternate technique helps.

In one of your videos you were talking about water based printing and that if a shop does it about 50% of the time a method we can use is to use the same emulsion we would with plastisol ink but after you expose it and wash it out you can apply a hardening agent. The next step is to expose the screen on the exposure unit, then after you wash it out apply Chroma set and leave on for about 3-5 mins. then rise that off, set it dry in the sun or once it is dry expose it again for 30 sec on the exposure unit and that will harden the emulsion enough to use water based inks without purchasing a water base emulsion. This should work fine right? :) Thanks in advance!
@ThePrintLife
@ThePrintLife 4 года назад
From our experiance hardening agents are ok for runs up to 100pcs after that the emulsion starts to get soft.

What kind of tape is that that you use on the inside of screens? The white tape. It always comes off super smooth.

I have tried this and just have trouble. I have wood platens and wondering if aluminum platens would be a better option down the road. I have such a problem with getting them crooked. Any addition help??
@ThePrintLife
@ThePrintLife 5 лет назад
Loading a shirt straight is a knack that you develop almost exclusively through practice. as for the pallets as long as you are registering the screen straight to the pallet it should not matter, unless each pallet has a different angle. I think aluminum pallets with precision cut adapters do help remove the variable. so in the long run you should strive for and upgrade in your equipment, but for now, use a square to make sure all your pallets have the same even angle. register you screen to the pallet, and you will have a good starting point.
