I think it is very important that screen printers, especially those starting out, do not base their business model on being the cheapest, or undercutting the competition. Pricing must be placed in such a way that you are selling your goods at a decent profit. The equipment used, and your labor are real costs that you absolutely HAVE to take into consideration. Customers will ALWAYS want a cheaper price. At some point you have to draw the line. Highlight your service, quality of print, and the time in which you can turn around the order. Those businesses that are centered around pricing the goods under the competition are DOOMED to FAILURE.
Hello mate...I like the video....I am totally new to screen printing....not scared too much about anything but I am when it comes to pricing...simply because I have NO IDEA LOL.....Literally dont understand it.....BUT ....this helps a little....just need an UK Pound version now :-)
That is a great tool to get an idea of what to charge. I have a question is there a website you can post your service on that businesses can go to too find what they need done
Rhy this price calculator doesn't factor if the film is A4 or A3 and other overhead cost (depreciation on your equipment, electricity, etc) that you incur every time you open your shop. I don't think this approach is profitable.
This calculator is based on the price Of the shirts and impressions only. It does not include your overhead because overhead differs from state to state and county. This is just a baseline in which you need to also adjust depending the area that you are setup at.
When you Add the setup fee in the calculator, it breaks it down per shirt and adds it to the cost per shirt. Or charge the setup fee separate by itself
Good stuff! Can you share that xls file? I’ve been using the Ryonet one and it seems too complex for one man shops. Which class at ISS is this? I can’t remember what classes I signed up for.
@@Factory928AC I agree with Rhy. We would do HTV. Depending on how difficult it is, we charge anywhere from $15-$25. On average, I would say $18-$20. All depends on your shop's overhead and profit desired really.
Has anyone made their own spreadsheet based off of this example? Im working on one but can't figure out how the screen setup fee is worked into the overall page equation.
Nevermind I figured it out... If anyone else needs to know its, per screen cost÷lower number of shirts+(blank item cost×mark-up+per color print charge) Example:$30÷12shirts×($3×2+$1.50)
