I just finished giving our screened-in porch a total makeover on a teeny, tiny budget and it turned out amazing!
This porch has come a long way from it's 1970s peach walls and astroturf carpet and not it is a beautiful porch full of budget decorating ideas. Every surface in this screened-in porch got an update with fresh paint, diy furniture, second hand finds, and plenty of diy decor. If you love decorating on a budget, you are going to love this porch makeover.

This looks fantastic! I love how you either used what you had, found things free or donated. I must admit I get drawn into the stuff I see in catalogues but your porch looks like a catalogue with minimal cost. You motivate me!

Wow, I have to say, this was an amazing makeover. I was looking for a DIY daybed and just watched your video. I'm subscribing to your page. Super excited that I found you! ps. We just bought a house with a front and back porch that are not screened in (but we plan to screen the back). The house came with a picnic table on the front porch and a pair of wicker chairs and table. Plan on cleaning them up! Thanks!!!!!

I LOVE your porch! And what a beautiful back yard!! I love garage sales too! And it's funny you picked up a piece of furniture off the side of the road, I do that too, one of my neighbors threw out the bottom part of a hutch this past summer and I had my husband go pick it up. I sanded down the top, will probably paint the bottom, but I'm not sure because it is solid maple... sooo . . . maybe I should refinish it instead. It's a very nice piece, the drawer is the only thing that needs some repair, I just wish the hutch had been with it. :O/ Oh well! lol

They make a fabric spray for patio pillows you might like. Typically sold at any hardware stores or Amazon.

How is the table holding up being outside? I’m asking because I have a wood dining table I want to use in my screened sunroom. I’m concerned about moisture and how it will do. It has 2 leaf inserts.

This came out wonderfully! I'm also looking to update my screened in porch with a similar setup, as it's my first home, but I was just wondering, how does the porch hold up with rain/snow (if you're in a 4 season state)?

I am in Virginia, so definitely a 4 season state. Our porch holds up pretty well - some snow and rain does blow in the sides but overall it stays fairly dry. Our biggest issue is pollen in the late spring - it covers basically everything. I try to take in all of the cushions and decor stuff at the end of autumn and leave most of it put away until the worst of the pollen season. Then I give everything a good cleaning and put everything back out.

Should I paint my stencil white or black ? My patio is close to road always full of dirt and dust

It's up to you but black might work better for camouflaging the road dust.

How do you keep rain and dirt out? My screened in porch gets so wet with rain, despite the screens :/ biggest reason i haven't added furniture yet

We do get a bit of rain around the perimeter but none in the middle. We have a lot of tall trees around our house so I think that probably helps protect things. I just make sure everything is okay to get a bit wet and can clean up fairly easily. And I sprayed all of the fabric with waterproofing spray. My biggest issue is pollen gets all over everything so I try to bring everything inside or cover it in the spring until the worst of the pollen ends.
