We bought the identical Same machine last year and lost the instructions This is video the best video on demonstrating how to use it. Thanks. Yes it’s a good unit a bit on the costly side on the electric it uses but work’s excellent.

Thanks for that 😀. Never really meant it as a review just to show my subs. Does cost a bit to run but what price for a good nights sleep. Enjoy.

I got the same one from screwfix last year - absolute god send and well worth the money when you get those really hot days

Really useful. I'm in the market to buy a unit and reading lots of reviews for various makes, many comments on noise levels. Having never owned air con I was curious about just how noisy these things are, and now I know!

Hi ya Fred,Great video mate, i recently purchased the 9000 Btu portable Air con unit made by Burfam , it’s been great during the recent extreme temperatures, I needed a hose extension and also got the window kit which seals the window opening, I wouldn’t be without it and although noisy it made for a comfortable nights sleep , all the best mate Joely Joel

BTU is British Thermal Unit. It's a proper imperial unit... The energy required to raise 1 pound of water 1 degree Fahrenheit. 12kBTU is a good amount for a moderate-to-large American room. Probably overkill for your bedroom. The downside is that it will short-cycle. If you have more power than you need, the fan and compressor will power-cycle more often than design spec, and it will wear out prematurely. Hopefully your UK summers will stay moderate enough to offset the additional wear!

Thats great. Thanks for the info.

@NRD - what if you have an air conditioner with less power than you need. E.g. my room needs 10k BTU, what if I got 9k BTU. Any downside?
@fabfisher
@fabfisher Год назад
@@mk90The downside is your room may not get as cool as you want it or the compressor will run for longer than it would have done with the more powerful unit.

Sounds stupid, but does anyone know if you unscrew the back panel to clean the inside of the air conditioner? I work in a dog groomers and despite regularly cleaning the accessible filters, the inside is very hairy but I'm worried about breaking something 🤣 not using it at the moment as it's a fire hazard until sorted
@gorringeman

Do you find you use it more than just heatwaves? I'm thinking you get an idea of what you like the room set to and set it to that everyday in the summer
@UK-CB-RADIO

No we only use it during spells of hot weather. Our electric bill has doubled in 12 months so its too expensive.

We've had one for 2 years and it's worked great but suddenly the motor stops after a few minutes. I've checked the vents and everything looks clear, the motor is getting hot but not much is happening. We've only used it a few days a year so I'm surprised that it's breaking now, I've tried to look up a fix but nothing seems to come up, if anyone could guide me I'd appreciate it, the heat has been unbearable this week! :(

Update on the water bucket? I hear there are ones that don’t require the bucket or drain. Sounds like this one evaporates most of it. I’ll forward this to friends in the uk.

I have one of these units, it just over two years old but for some reason the cooling option now doesnt work, it's just like an expensive fan now! Does anyone have any advice for what it could be? I've cleaned it, emptied the drain etc and nothing has worked.. its not a unit that can be regassed so not sure what else it could be! If anyone knows that would be amazing!
