Hi welcome to my second channel Fred in the Shed 2. A more relaxed content will be found here with less editing and a wider range of video subjects. a bit more personal if you like. Just subscribe to get updates. Cheers Fred.
If you had a cordless drill or dremil with variable speed ajustment and put a rubber sanding arbor in the chuck and just ran it against the flywheel it would make easy work for starting .....just a thought .........amazing how those wee engines work
Have you not been informed mediumwave longwave are going to be become redundant, the medium of the future is DAB DAB+internet 📻 radio that is were radio is going to be,even amateur radio is dying, the reason mobile phones, 🖥️💻 computers, these are the medium of the present and the future of communications around the world,no longer sitting at a HF radio ,just switch on a computer 🖥️💻 and the world is at your finger tips, also you don't need sit a radio amateur radio exam , also the world has shrunk due to the internet, also ask the question how many people have mobile 📱📲 phones ,that is the tool of modern communications networks, that is why people are not interested in buying and using expensive radios.
I think its more network radio than just using a phone. However radio will carry on although of course its never going to be as popular as it was 50 years ago.
What an absolutely beautiful toy My grandfather bought me an antique car of the same size as this- it was battery powered and had working headlights and made a vibreting sound like a motor under the BOnnet...I unfortunately.lost it at the beach- my grandfather was upset by that
Excellent and you did show us patience and perseverance. Enjoy the same one, bought it when retired, couldn't afford when young. Same to my prewar sportster of 1934. A good supporting wife makes the difference!
De...ionised water will in time rot your solder joins in side your boiler, you must change to de stilled water or clean de stilled rain water, i hope this helps
I came across your video while looking for some information for another watch, so apologies for the untimeliness. I'm just a hobbyist, so this is should not be taken as "professional" advice. Commonly, this type of problem is caused by a bad crystal (oscillator). The LED display on these watches uses multiplex timing to light the LED digits & segments. The timing signals are derived from the same crystal oscillator that drives the time functions. When the crystal goes bad you will get the single random number displayed because the multiplexing timing that switches between the different digits is not functioning. It can always be the same number displayed or different numbers, probably due to switch bounce or some other circuit noise generated when the module is activated. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find exact replacement crystals for these vintage watches, but I've had reasonable luck using widely available (and inexpensive) new components. Usually, the crystal frequency value is 32.768 kHz and I try to find at least a +/- 20 ppm accuracy rating - a lower ppm tolerance rating would be better. If this works, you may also need to adjust the trimmer for time accuracy. Also, I've never been able to find out the correct circuit load capacitance value used in the different modules. The most common value I've seen in new crystals is 12.5 pF and this has worked for me in most circumstances, but this is not definitive for all modules. Hope this helps.
Its normally the cable or cable driver. If you have used the cable before without an issue you can try a different usb / com port. Also double check you have selected the right Baofeng model in Chirp. If all that fails i normally try some of the other listed Baofengs in chirp to see if they will work.
I never comment on videos in you tube but this was such a funny story i had tears in my eyes absolutely fantastic. So glad i stumbled across your channel kee up the great work 😂
I was watching a video about this a few days ago while my wife was sitting here with me reading a book and unbeknownst to me she surprised me this morning with a package and it was this. She explained how she’s seen how much fun I’d been having with my little DSP SDR and thought i could do with an upgrade. So with that said I’m saving it for the weekend after having a little play with it for a deep dive Saturday and Sunday 🙌

Hi Gary. Yeah i miss it really. The simple clicky channel select. I use to mark the surround with tipex to swap to fav channels quickly so not to mis a copy from the 14.
