Dawn dish soap is a miracle product. I did post construction high rise window cleaning, and dawn dish soap and a plastic scraper were all we ever needed.
@@anderino_ Concrete dust that has been rained on repeatedly. Welding slag. Caulk. Anything, and everything, that you would find on a construction site. I understand what you're saying, though. Our customers were often surprised to hear that we don't use a special concentrated formula. They're usually quite surprised to hear my say that I spent 4.99 on some dawn dish soap on my way to the job lol.
i would repeat the experiment a few more times because its possible that the spots that were left over from the dawn soap were just tougher from the start.
Another good one that will even help buff out blemishes on your pan is Barkeeper's Friend. It's the consistency of bleach powder, but it basically works like a fine-grit liquid sandpaper and detergent. It works well on rust, watermarks, and yes, even burn marks on stainless steel.
It was comparable enough that I don't feel the need to go out and buy a whole extra product if I already have dish soap Edit: wow. For those of you getting upset about me voicing my opinion... On an opinion piece..? Real smart 😂
Its really the agitator that does most of the work. As long as you can get the soap under the gunk to dissolve it, it'll work great. A good scour does that, but if you don't have one then the scrub daddy gell seems like a stronger solvent that can make the agitation step easier
Yes scrub mommy and daddy are so good for a variety of things. I got all the limescale off in my new apartment. I used lime away with a scrub mommy, it worked so good
The dawn dish soap was better with getting softer stains out, the scrub daddy gel was better with getting the big chunks off. I suggest using a mix of both
The dawn dish soap did a different job. So the gel removed all the black but the dish soap brightened and made its side shine and look a lot cleaner outside of the pieces it couldn’t remove. I’d use the gel to get it all off and then the dawn dish soap
It’s the light after she takes the tape off and shows it to us and then when she puts it back into the sink, it shows they both have the same brightness, so Don is give me a minute worse worse I used Don I’m not switching
@@jaylonrandle1550To me, even whilst the pot is in the sink, it looks as thought the Dawn side did a better job of making it shiny and bright. Although it appeared to miss a few spots (maybe they really were tougher), the other side still has some overall grime. Its a bit more brown
I like the spray from dawn. You spray and let it sit for a minute. It always worked really well for me and barely any scrubbing. I'll have to try the scrub daddy gel though. It looks like a great product. Thanks for the video. 🎉
Dawn did pretty good as well but what I’m getting at is that the scrub daddy gel is 10 dollars for a little container while Dawn is 4.49 for a decent sized bottle (Edit: why the hell is this blowing up my phone went off some many times today💀
The scrubs Daddy will last longer though it's not for regular cleaning dishes. Dawn is for just cleaning everyday dishes not for grime or hard stuff and u get a sponge that will last over a year vs having to constantly rebuy sponges
@@Havis_Princessyeah but still, why would I get another product for ten dollars that can only be used for specific things, when I already have dawn that works almost just as well
@Astrid15267 you don't have to. This is just showing what works better so u can make that desciison yourself. I buy dish soap and I buy stuff for the harder stuff simaf w bathroom products I could get a one for all bit the stuff for the toilet snd tub don't work as good for everuthing else it's just preference
“Horrifying” like really stfu over exaggerating for what? It’s being used is it not? You didn’t buy it so stop complaining about what people use with products they bought tf.
My grandpa would only ever buy dawn dish soap because of the ducklings in the commercials, I always think about him when I see the dish soap. Miss you grandpa !
I tried Bar Keepers for the first time recently and it didn’t do much to the bottom of my pans. I think I’m missing something so I would love any tips folks have to share!
Blue dawn is magical somehow, at cooling school they gave us the worst soap but pans had to be spotless, when I brought blue dawn dish soap everyone thought I was spoiled but man, my elbow thanked me, no more scrubbing with fibers for hours
Actually, if you see the side of the scrub daddy gel, it looks more brown with Dawn dish soap. It looks more like it is a lighter color, so who did the better job?
Dawn dish soap is meant to be gentle but a low percentage degreasing spray, which might be an ingredient in the gel can work really really well on stoves and crusted grease on surfaces because they chemically break down fatty bonds, but they are also significantly more damaging to hands and skin if not dilluted enough because your skin also has fat in it which gets broken down in the same way as the grease on the pot
Just want to note that for the scrub daddy gel she rinsed first then put the soap on but for the dawn she put the soap on first then rinsed most of it off
Sometimes truck drivers will get rejected goods, say a box or two that was dented for whatever reason but the product is still good. At least a few months back, my Dad got a few big bottles of Dawn for free, and we are just going through the first bottle now.
@@n6ghk Back in the day when a teamster (union member) said "it fell off the truck" it meant it was stolen. During the first great depression (1929-39) many non self-sufficient people starved and froze to death from lack of food and heat. I used "first" because that is where we are heading a second time.
"im gonna use a scrub mommy for both products bc thats what comes with the gel just so that the playing field is even" Proceeds to use scrub daddy by the first side💀💀💀💀
@@petthequeenofmaddness8592 if this was an ad (it's not) there would be an includes purchase bar at the bottom of the screen Also she has to have something there indicating that it's an ad There are rules on RU-vid against getting paid to promote things and them not telling in some way shape or form that it's an ad
Why fake or embellish this kind of thing? It seems pretty obvious that whatever that black stuff is, it was put on, not burned/cooked on. You can see the swirl pattern for goodness sake.
…but that’s not the point lol. She was comparing how good 2 different products are at cleaning a dirty pot, no matter how it got on there. What was she supposed to do? Burn a pan just for this video, lol??
Because dawn needs to sit for a little while. You don’t just squirt it on and go. Let it soak up a little bit and that will come right out. Also, you can use dawn to get grease or oil stains out of clothes. Just put a little dab in the wash and the grease comes right out
Yesss! One type my ex washed one of my shirts that had a grease stain and then put it in the dryer, which baked it on. 🤦♀️ I thought it was ruined until I used dawn dishsoap on the stain, and it was as good as new.
You guys, there's clips in the scrub daddy side Indifying she did it for longer and to get good results! She also scrubbed harder on that side. She's obviously just trying to get a pay check instead of posting an honest review.
I would argue there were smaller abrasive particles on the bottom of the pan, which helped to remove the caked on grime for the first detergent. She washed those smaller particles off for the dawn dish soap.
I use a scrub mommy and dawn. Sometimes it doesn’t get everything if I burned the pot real bad, so I put salt and something acidic (normally lime juice bc I don’t have any lemon juice) in it and a little bit of elbow grease takes it right off.
I'm not in a position right now where I can buy scrub gel, so dawn dish soap will have to do in seeing this comparison I know what I will be buying when I move out of this house. Edit: wow 10 likes :O also autocorrect can BITE ME GRR
Why did you doctor up the bottom of the pot, half of it came off when you rinsed it.??? What did you put on the bottom that’s not stove, campfire, oven or any kind of burn on it. ? It came off with water !
I’d love to know what the hell she put on the bottom of this pan cause there’s no recipe I can think of that involves covering the bottom of the pan and cooking it like that
@@shanel4294If I had to guess id say charcoal and vegetable oil or some kind of animal fat. Fat would melt off with water and oil would scrub off super easy with soap. I think everything left behind was actual burns, which is why they didnt come off so easy
That's how pan's work its not gonna be 100% even. One cleaned better then the other bc one is made to clesn hsir staisn and grime whime thw there is just to cleam
@@Havis_Princessfirst of all, you can see the dirt is obviously put on you can see the swirls, second of all she used so much gel, but for dawn she used like half of the amount she used for the scrub daddy gel
@@Havis_Princess no. this isn’t about how pans work this is about how the scrubs work. so it is not a fair test and not a realistic comparison of the scrubs. use your brain a bit and it’ll make sense
I love Scrub Daddy's Power Paste. I had hair dye on the bathroom sink from my fiancé that I couldn't get out for heaven or earth, but five seconds of the Power Paste made it come off like it was fresh, I was astounded. I use that for the tougher stains & such, & use regular cleaning stuff the rest of the time
Dawn is absurdly good. I once had to deal with spray paint cans in high school that drip and leaked all over my hands, and I spent so long scrubbing and scratching trying to get the dried paint off, I even resorted to trying to use steel wool to get it off. Not only did quite a bit of that stuff not come off, but my hands hurt so bad afterwards from all my efforts. Cut to couple years later, I'm in college, the learning community I'm in is having a spray painting night outside, and I'm about to leave my dorm, but I want to make sure I have my mom-friend diaper bag of supplies, specifically to help with cleaning up afterwards since I had that previously mentioned experience, and I saw online Dawn apparently works. After the event, I and couple other people have a bit of spray paint on our hands, and you can imagine the relief, disbelief, and anger I experienced when the spray paint almost came off like magic lol
Dawn power wash is amazing so I would have used that over the standard soap. Also I’ve never seen that scrub daddy gel but the paste would be my #1 choice for that job
The swirl pattern of that "burnt on" bottom was a dead giveaway that it was fake. Authentic burnt-on grease build- up doesnt build up in a nice swirly pattern and the last remaining specks on the Dawn side would have come off if you hadn't stopped scrubbing and began the rinse off
You want to know how to make that scrub Daddy gel paste yourself at home is real easy and real cheap. You mix Dawn dish detergent and bonami cleaner or bar keepers Friend powdered cleaner together and bam is the exact same thing as that $10 jar of scrub Daddy cleaner.
Just spray it with oven cleaner and let it sit outside overnight. Everything rinses off the next day, though you may have to do a little scrubbing. Works perfectly.
