@kmcgullam91 Not to mention Kim lied about having a miscarriage and expected JD to fall back into her arms and love her again straight away. When he said he didn't know how he would feel in the future, she freaked on him and blamed him for the baby.
@@ransherman1611 All he was doing was giving his honest opinion of Kim. He obviously didn't expect Kim to change how she behaves to try to live to his expectations. The guy was just dropping truth on her because everything he said about her was absolutely true and she clearly needed to hear it.
I love Kim because Elizabeth Banks is amazing...but I never quite realized how amazingly stupid this little setup was. JD has "just met" this girl because he's literally been ignoring her for 5 years because she was married, then has the fucking nerve to lay this guilt trip on her for the dual offenses of a) making professional choices that even dr. Cox agrees are completely reasonable, and b) not wanting to guys to hit on her all the time at work. And then, naturally, instead of asking "who the FUCK do you think you are?", she falls for him, and they immediately start giggling over literally nothing while sappy music plays. Don't get me wrong, it's completely in-character after the whole "I want you! ...I don't want you." douchebacle of season 3. But at least the fearitude is excellent!
TBF yeah the set-up here was stupid, the acting on the other hand... man that was always Scrubs golden standard and JD and Kim's chemistry was sublime even if the path getting there was all sorts of rediculous.
@@Akechi_The_Phantom_Detective For sure. I was being a little harsh on it in my OP - Scrubs always writes pretty ridiculous stuff and lets the actors make it either relatable or funny, it's part of the charm :)
@@jerodast but ultimately you're right, from Kim's point of view(back then), JD is a random dude who has been awfully arrogant over what she should do and how she should live. Nitpicky tho: JD didn't ignore her...he simply ignored her existence or not acknowledged her existence. I don't remember Kim(while "invisible") ever tried to interact with him...but i may be wrong but as far as i remember, they simply did their own thing...
@@derokdeathaxe6984 Haha, okay technically he didn't like blow her off - he wasn't rude to her FACE. But he was ignorant of her existence even though she was apparently friends with multiple people he hung out with. I agree you could break down "ignoring existence" vs "ignoring interactions", but both are forms of ignoring a person in my book. I guess you could see this scene as justifying JD being unaware of her, or reframing the initial joke - it's not reeeally that he could not perceive her because of her ring, it's because she doesn't actually socialize at the hospital that much, another element of "protecting herself"? Except that just doesn't really feel right, mainly because Banks is a very bubbly presence and showed an easy friendship with Turk and Elliot as soon as we saw them interacting. Maybe they needed to cast someone more reserved to sell JD's take on her, I dunno.
@@jpryan90 I really hated that JD and Elliot where together again, Elliot and Keith where so good together. Cause with JD and Elliot it was another season of them being on-off and it was getting tiring.
You are correct. I remember the episode that the janitor started the hospital newspaper to teach Dr. Cox a lesson that the janitor may be many things, but he is definitely not stupid.
Me too :(. If it makes you feel better an in alternate universe he does! I hated the JD and Elliot back and forth. They didn't have "on scene chemistry". Made an awesome comedy duo because their character were both Quirky.
@@samuelthompson8080 There is no alternative universe in sitcoms. JD emotionally manipulated her here and Kim betrayed him later. No way they should have stayed together
I'm so glad Kim and JD didn't end up together, but then I'm the kind of guy that's glad Ted and Robin ended up together in HIMYM, so I would want JD and Elliot together.
"I'm a little disappointed that all you do is try to please everyone so that no one has a bad thing to say about you." *does a risky procedure so he isn't disappointed in her anymore* this was an awkward episode..
She put her stats at risk. Not her career. Not even close. Killing this guy would've done sweet fuck all to her already well established career. She cared about JD enough to put her high stats on the line and show him that she cared.
@@nickz5849 Oh cry me a river. In another comment you criticize JD for his behaviour, now you sort of agreeing with it, so what is it? Also, if you were not lucky with women, doesn't mean you can generalise like that. Grow up and stop pouting.
@@zimvader25 Putting her stats at risk equals putting her career at risk in their field. They explained it through Cox in this very episode, hon. Also, your way of thinking is clishe and naive. Yes, we all do things for our loved ones but not like that. Love doesn't require putting yourself/your health/career/well-being/autonomy at risk. Grow up.
