More with good behavior. But this skit was prophetic. Not to long after, they did a "Leave it to Beaver reunion special" for years. And it was just about as sad as this. And Beaver was just as overweight. Later,, The Disney Channeled picked up a new LITB sit come, but they seemed to intentionally be writing Beaver out of the scripts.

I’m not being a smartass. I’m just helping you rule out age, as a determining factor for why you don’t like it. Also, Eugene played his usual character, and Catherine O’Hara did, too. Sad that kids these days will have no idea what Leave It To Beaver was or even worse, what SCTV was

I can't believe it took me until rewatching it this time to realize that what June is doing in the whole first scene is packing Beaver an ENORMOUS lunch...gallon of milk, tons of fruit, etc....why did it take me so long? Anyway, this is as hilarious today as it was when they first did it. Oh, and RIP, Lumpy, even if you didn't really jump in front of a train.

lol, i noticed that the second time around . . . its the little nuances that make this funnier, lmao

It makes me both so sad and happy to see John Candy so young in this footage. He was a complete natural!!

Loved SCTY and SNL! They were all talented and funny. My older brother and I, would always watch together and crack up. Great memories, of my teen years. John Candy was a big lovable guy in real life. Shame he died young. RIP John and Harold.

1st year for SCTV and the only one with HR in 1977, too bad he's gone along with John Candy but that was 40 plus years ago. I'm getting old but I still like this stuff

Quite possibly the best sketch in SCTV history, rivaled only by the Perry Como skit, and the HI-Q quiz game shows...

I'll never forget that at the 35th Annual Emmy Awards, Perry Como was given a tribute for 50 years on television. Looking out at the audience, he mentioned "SCTV~one of my better fan clubs" (words to that effect). The cast were all sitting together in complete awe that Perry Como had actually seen the skit and acknowledged it with such charming good humor.

The talent of comedy and writing on this show was incredible. And if you missed it, it only got better after the SCTV players went their separate ways. Pure comedic genius!
