Awesome review! Been waiting for this video to come out. Finally pulled the trigger on one od these suckers yesterday. Can't wait to get growing with it! Loving the tuning capability and the lenses for directing that light with no straight down hot spots! Cheers!
@ScynceLED
@ScynceLED 5 лет назад
@@adamseider4078 this is not correct. You only need to connect to the light when sending a change command (dimming, spectrum tune, or loading an updated recipe). The internal memory stores the recipe or current setting forever, so unless you are changing settings there is never a need for a wifi or network connection.

From 24" height to 12'. No! Would love to see at 18", or 16"! Probably around 900-1000 PAR! 24" inch height had good levels, more even canopy. 12" seems a bit high(over 1000 PAR) with a more uneven canopy, too much(?) in center, below 800-900 PAR in other areas.. I bet 18" would give 900-1000 PAR(or PPFD? I think you know what I mean. No coffee yet, lol! Great video! OH! Do you know what driver/drivers are used? AND I LOVE HOW THE SPECTRUM CAN BE CHANGED ACROSS THE BOARD. NOT JUST VEG/FLOWER SWITCH, BUT ACTUAL FINE TUNING FOR YOUR NEEDS! GREAT TECHNOLOGY! ANY DRIVER INFO, AS WELL AS LED's used?Samsung 301mb(?) tops in many lights, usually white 2700K-5000K, 3500K LED fixtures. Any other info would be great. And highly appreciated! Thanks again for the great video! Very, very nice!

These lights cant be measured properly with a par meter because the direction of the light is cast sideways not directly down. If you tilt the PAR meter sideways you get a better reading.

Why was there NO angling of the par meter even after mentioning how da lenses work?
@2000YearsOfTradition
@2000YearsOfTradition 4 года назад
@Game Changer .. Bond was referring to how the 120 degree optics angle the light instead of sending it straight down. Thus Eric briefly showed this. Kind of. Eric lifted the meter ... unfortunately he didn't tilt it though to show how the meter would pick up the angled light. This would have picked up some very interesting and positive par numbers all would marvel at. ScynceLED has a video here on their RU-vid channel explaining this w/ regard to accurate par meter readings and a very informative demonstration. Check it out!

@TripleDCrook

Not when using artificial lighting. Outdoors uva and uvb make a difference because there’s so much of it. However, in a grow light, it’s not going to provide enough Uv to make a noticeable difference.

@KUSH 6enius Appreciate your response! Our commercial bids are extremely competitive vs other top shelf fixtures, and in fact consistently come in less than competitors who offer zero future-proofing (smart tech/water-sealed) or wireless spectrum tuning. It's true that our core business is not the home grower, but we feel we are the best value in the industry when you consider what you getting a 5yr warranty on. Thanks again

Sick, but 700 watts for a 4x4 . Besides heat and a little bit better spectrum why not just use a 1k that are penney s. I'm sure it puts off a good bit of heat, a btu of each light would be nice to know.🍻
@dirigoelectric
@dirigoelectric 5 лет назад
Blop Jones hps is about 4000 btu at 1000 watts. Which is about 1000 watts to cool, so hps uses close to double what you’re lighting with.
@victorsupreme214
@victorsupreme214 5 лет назад
Growing stadium style, but with horizontal HPS, I have seen the largest yields from individual plants were from those plants that were at a 45-70 ish degree angle from the light source. Plants directly under the light source never grew or finished as well as those on a diagonal to the light. I believe it was from better light penetration/coverage to more area of the plant than from straight above. Stadium style with multiple vertical HPS had better yields than the same number of lights separated into individual Colosseum setups. I believe this was because of the overlapping light spreads. This (expensive) light appears to me to do both of the above. Only thing is, when messing with the spectrum power and ratios I think I'd need to invest in a Par meter as well so that if I changed the spectrum to say 60/40 red/blue or 80/20 etc I would know how high to position the lights to get the desired PPFD.

@@victorsupreme214 very valid point, but par meters dont work on their lights (they're inaccurate) They have a video about why.
@victorsupreme214
@victorsupreme214 5 лет назад
@@SolventlessBakenVape Yup seen that video. I think what they were saying was to angle the receptor towards the direction of the light source ie. where the lenses are directing the majority of the light to. Suppose I could use the tried and true method of lowering it until the plants have a spazz then lifting it up 6 inches lol
