The first Challenge Mission is to take down Neros Gundam with Shining Finger in 2 turns. That's not happening with what I have, coupled with that 23,550 HP on Neros. Defeating the berserk Blue Destiny with Shining in Super Mode is much easier, though it does mean some kills will had to go to Domon.
Speaking of kills, it's bad enough doing the kind of stalling and kill juggling to control experience so I don't waste experience on MSes that I need to evolve. Having to set up everyone's kill count just to game the Ace Point system is probably the worst since it basically results in only my Master being allowed to kill. I'm thinking of allowing myself to grind in A01 between missions to even out the Ace Points on characters instead when needed. The downside of course is that I still do get a bit of experience for those kills. The money is not a huge issue since I could just buy and resell items at a loss to get my money back to roughly the right range again, though that is more work of another sort. Bah, I'll figure it out later.
Winning unlocked a 携帯用ソーラーパネル (Portable Solar Panel) which recovers 5% EN per turn. I evolved 3 of my Basics (Strike, Turn A, Gundam X) into their proper versions and turn the Flind into the Crossbone X1. Man, it's really nice seeing the improved stats as well as options and abilities available.
I'm really tired of our old battleship by this point so I sold off a few of the MSes I didn't need to buy the Ptolemaios 2. I peeked at the data for the original Ptolemaios and noticed that it's space only. There's an Option Part that sets a unit's terrain type to S even if it originally isn't able to be deployed in that terrain, but that's only unlocked in Hell difficulty. This basically means that I won't be buying the regular Ptolemaios for this Normal playthrough. I'll also have to reconsider the Deep Striker for my mobile armor since it'd be something I could only use in Space without said part.
The Ptolemaios 2 is my personal battleship of choice. It has a combination of having the highest movement and terrain ratings, and it has GN Fields, which are the best defensive tool you can have. The only real downside is that you can only hold 6 captured units. The lack of firepower isn't as big a thing to me as battleships eventually fall off in capability compared to MSes and MAs, especially once you hit Hell difficulty. There's two other ships which have equivalent movement and terrain ratings, which is the Mother Vanguard from Crossbone and the Squid from V Gundam. They don't have GN Fields though, but their capture capacity is 8. They're worth picking up with a sufficiently strong crew as you'll be seeing good hit/evade rates thanks to their abilities, but we don't have access to that quite yet.
