When purchasing lamb breast/rack/rib you need to look at fat content first and decide how much to remove...Score the meat first...This will allow fat to render out while Cooking/Smoking/Barbecuing..Add seasoning of choice...Cook/Barbecue/Smoke for at least 3 hours then have a look...Give it another hour then add your chosen sauce/glaze...Another 20 mins then it's done...Trust me I'm a butcher...🙂👍

So I smoke my lamb at 225' , for about 3 1/2 hours till I got 195 internal, I did not wrap at all because so fatty, thus mine did have more of a see through fat, it did render better than this videos, but after a nice rub and smoke I chould still taste the farm in the meat, I do cook venison alot, but this taste took the cake, not going buy or waste my time again on this cut, but I can say I have cooked it. Thanks
@SDSBBQs

Lol, could taste the farm! Lamb is an acquired taste, what did you season it with?

I filleted a lamb breast tonight and it was absolutely beautiful off the rotisserie I let it render down all the fat and crisp it up you just did it wrong.if you don't know nothing about the cut of meat you're working with do your research before you try to cook it.

Thank you, thank you! I found these at my local WM. Been searching a way to cook them. This is the most helpful video and recipe I have seen. I learned a lot and I know now to expect a lot of fat in the cut. Lots of good info in this video!

SDSBBQ I will, & I will mention this video and your channel. I’m going to cook them today, video should post on Monday 6/17. I will attempt to trim a lot of fat from them. I wasn’t planning to until I watched this. That is the cool thing about watching folks do first time cooks with a recipe. You don’t get expert knowledge, but you can learn from other’s mistakes. I learned in this video how disappointed your family was in the fat content. Hopefully a viewer will learn from the mistakes I make trying this lam cut for the first time. BTW your daughter was so cute in this video. I showed her seem to my wife and she thought so too. It is a year and a half old, so I know your daughter has grown since then. Don’t blink, they grow up fast. I blinked and my daughter is 16 already. I subbed your channel, I really enjoy watching family oriented barbecue channels like this one. Thanks again.
@SDSBBQs
@SDSBBQs 5 лет назад
Totally agree about that learning from others "mistakes" I can make changes and hopefully have a better result. I highly advise trimming. Yes, this video is older and if you see she has defiantly grown up. Pump the brakes I'm not ready for her to be 16 just yet.
@BigLewBBQ

Hey buddy exactly what I wanted to know. I found the same cut at my walmart and wondered what it was and searched lamb breast. I'm still gonna try it maybe at higher heat and longer wrap? I dont know? Maybe try to melt the fat off maybe even braze ? What would you think? Thanks for the info:)
@SDSBBQs
@SDSBBQs 4 года назад
I agree a hotter longer cook probably would be good. To help render the fat better. I really should see if I can find this cut again and see if I have better luck. Thanks for watching and commenting, good luck with your cook!

Dash, this is my first time on your channel. Wish I would have seen it yesterday. I just smoked what I thought were "Denver Ribs" for 3 hours and learned that it was actually lamb breast. I'm happy with my rub but disappointed with the meat. Happy fathers day

Thank you Sir, right back at you if you are indeed a father. Man I too would have wished you saw it well before today. A day too late, welp that just means you'll have to try again! Thanks for watching, stick around and get comfortable. I'd love to see you more in the comments.

I too thought it was too good a price to pass up at Wallyworld. But thanks to your video I knew what to expect. So I broke it down into what I call riblets and several strips of boneless meat. I rolled these to smoke and cut into pinwheels after taking it out. Cut away lots and lots of fat, yet there was still lots to flavor the meat. Turned out delicious. Thank your family for their honest comments on the fattiness of the "lamb breast".

The better way is to cover ribs by foil for two hours in 240 F and better to remove fat little not all of it to get balanced and moist bite and very delicious even without spices

When it done two hours remove the foil and smoke it for 30 minutes and the result will be fantastic. If you like rub the breast use 1- SPG( salt- pepper- garlic) Or you can use traditional BBQ spices And for the ending use BBQ sauce

I've had some of those and mine was also labeled lamb breast and I'm in Chicago. I don't think it's a misprint. Do you offer those for sale in your business and if so how do you label them. Do you market them as ribs or breast? Excellent video.
