That's nice! Single ended is more open, forward and unencumbered while parallel has a slight exaggeration of body boldness space and depth. I'd be hard pressed to choose. If push came to shove I'd go 300b parallel. By God it all sounds gorgeous thou.

Hello! Many thanks for the effort. Imho the difference in sound here is much more a question of watts, than in the type of tube used. In my experience a 2a3 SE with 3 watts cannot show its full potential with a 90dB speaker, is even stressed during complex passages.

300B PSE outstanding sound! This is aa keeper amp.Hard to get though..only wish more Audio company built it...

300B better for me, with a superior natural sound. 2A3 more forward, a little rough and strident by comparison.

So after only listening to the first song, I found it easier to find a difference between Single Ended (SE) and Parallel Single Ended (PSE) than I did between the 2A3 and 300B, with the PSE having a bit better separation between the two speakers, which I assume would translate into a wider sound stage, but since this is not a binaural recording, I can't really tell. I heard that same effect on both the 2A3 and the 300B amps but couldn't really pi9ck out the difference between the 2A3 and the 300B. All sounded excellent and would not be surprised if my opinion would change if heard in person, but from the first song only, I would be happy with either but in dual mono/parallel single ended. Makes me want to ensure that any amp I get next can be bridged to mono for an upgrade path to dual mono. Thank you for this.

Single ended is purer and more immediate - hard to enjoy parallel SE once you hear the difference. Actually, I’m surprised how much close parallel SE is to PP. Pure SE is a class of it own it seems. I always thought it was primarily cross over distortion that took away the immediacy, but perhaps it’s really that multiple output devices never match completely?

Thanks for sharing your opinion. Indeed it is interesting. I remember using tektron 212 PSE power amp and it was one of the best Cube speakers sound that I heard, so it's always the preference I believe ;)

Hi. If you had to decide based on your experience which amp to chose for a Cube Audio Fc8, mounted in a Voigt Pipe, which amplifier would you chose out of those: Cary CAD-300b SE / Alan Eaton 45 mono blocks / Stereomour II SEI 2A3? Or to be more general: Which of the tubes (300b/45/2A3) would you choose for an Audio Fc8 driver assuming that the speakers are able to reproduce deep bass ranges without any problems ? Your way of recordings jumping between the four amps make comparisons very difficult. You shall make the same musical tracks with four different amps.

Sorry but I respectfully disagree with this comment. Why I felt I had to comment is because I think the way you make the switch in your videos makes your channel one of the easiest and best one to compare gear with. On cheap bt headphones this video was quite hard to hear differences with but in eg the one on the amber dac vs aries 2 difference was huge.

Sorry, I must be misunderstanding you. All 4 song had all 4 versions of 300b se/300b pse/2a3 se/2a3 pse circle between 2.5 and 4.5 times per song for comparison, right? Would you have preferred to hear the exact same passage of each song with each setup?
