The Sea Dragon 5000F is the top video light in the Sea Dragon underwater video light line-up. This video light has the highest color rendering index (CRI) rating and the widest beam angle of any light in its class. It's also very easy to use and features and auto brightness adjustment feature based on your distance to the subject. We took this light diving in the cold waters of the Pacific Northwest. Our sample underwater video shows just what this light can do... Watch the full review for our final thoughts about the Sea Dragon 5000F.

Thanks for this quick review! Now, would you say it's better than the Kraken 8000 light?

That's a good question! For video shooters that need the most accurate color and the widest beam possible, the Sea Dragon 5000F performs slightly better in these areas. For video shooters that need a lot of light (for shooting wide angle video) and want many more color options, then the Kraken 8000 is a better light. We found the beam quality of the white flood beam to be fairly similar for both lights.

For the same money you can't beat the kraken's, both 5000 and 8000 (I currently own both and literally sitting in an airport as I type this after a week's worth of driving with the 8000's). Personally, I would never buy video lights without a remote control. That remote is so important for last minute adjustments. Literally a necessity imo considering the features modern day lights offer.

We're very glad you're happy with your Kraken lights! The Kraken remote is indeed an awesome tool for the Hydra lights :)
