Great video johno made me laugh when you called your mate tinman out Wizard of oz lol 😆 🤣 no fish but the video was a laugh 👍 all the best from Paul from Staffordshire 🇬🇧 👍 😀
Brilliant vid , you pair together crack me up , bloody cold tho , I prefer cold to rain , ,keep them vids coming 😀 😉 hope to meet on the beach if I get up that way sometime
I second that, using whiting as live bait does work very well. It is very cold to be out fishing but we do really appreciate you filming for us. My Grandfather said to me many years ago that I don't know what cold is. In the 70's he was fishing and he said it was so cold that even the flame on his lighter froze. If you get a chance then have a look at that mark by the breakwater as I've quite a few codling over the years. Quick question that I don't what the answer is. When do call a codling cod, wondering how big it should be to be called a cod? Hope you have a good relax and a bit of fun visiting the family and good luck if fish for pike.
Funny enough last winter my pal Mike was pulling a whiting in at Llandudno and a huge cod hit it just has he was lifting the whiting up, must’ve been about 8-10lb and he actually lifted the Cod a couple of foot out the water before it fell off…. I went there for the next 3 days solid fishing a whiting dead bait and nothing 😂
@@GAMEKEEPERJOHN It's one of those right place, right time and that is one hell of a cod for around here. I don't know what's worse losing a big fish without seeing it or to see what you could have had and to me be even more gutted.
i fished the straigts many time and many years ago, mainly penmon point there was a place below the bridge, they called it the slate jetty, but we did struggle in the winter months, we used to get king rag from a beach about 2 mile down from penmon, and loads of lug. i bet its had the guts rippeg out of it now
U can use a pully pennel with the breakaway leads so u can clip it up saves tangles on the cast its a different type of clip which will release the bait 110% everytime
accidently turned on a ---- called the shore hunter, taks a load of ---- that is mostly wrong, thank god for you john, the real world, yeah i get concerned about clips not letting go of the bait,so many time distance isnt important and the big fish are 30 to 50 or less, keep it up
You could try Port Dinorwic marina wall.It gets you into deeper water, and you don't need to cross the menia straights onto anlglsea. You would be facing where you are fishing on this vid.
Bit nippy on the digits at the moment 🥶 Went for a mooch early doors with the dog got a band slap first shot 💥 the pain on already cold fingers is indescribable 🤣🤣
Try whiting for bait. I have caught at Llandundo and had 9lb bass at Old colwyn and had some massive takes but not landed. I have not used whiting enough to say it is a good bait but it seems to work well
I said this before, especially when the weather is stupid cold. The scent from dead bait doesn't carry as well so a livebait will get the attention of any sight hunters out there. Even using a cast net to catch shrimps and keep them in a bucket with a battery air bubbler. It even works freshwater fishing too. A worm will catch you a fish when everything else fails.
