Any vist is best early in the year before the Eiders start nesting inside the buidings, it also gets overgrown a bit later in the year. Re permission, there are signs up stating landing requires permission, but then again its Scotland!

@@getwet501 Thanks. I'll respectfully ignore the signs then and leave the place as I find it as a compromise. I was already thinking the autumn or winter might be a good time to go there actually, as the sea up here is very wayward around that time and I'm always looking for an excuse to get down to somewhere a little bit more sheltered.
