That’s convenient that they will send you the parts. I hate it when I have to mail something in and wait forever when I could easily do it myself with the correct parts. That’s a neat looking pot. I don’t have one like that, but I have a lot of Sea to Summit stuff and like all of them.
I haven’t had any issues with my sigma pots handles (1.1L & 2.7L). Dad actually ran over my 2.7L pot the other day, I forgot it had fallen and rolled under the car in the shed. I hammered it back into shape as best I could, the lid doesn’t stay on properly now seen the pot isn’t perfectly round but oh well lol. Dad was more worried about his car then my expensive hiking pot 😡😅 I’ll contact S2S here in Australia and see if they are sending out the new clip locks, I never knew about a voluntary recall until your video so thanks!
Very good improvement to this particular pot I'm glad they sent the replacement part. Those tiny screws give me a headache cause I have to wear reading glasses to see what I'm doing lol. Looks like you did great on it.
Thanks for the update. Small things can cause big problems when boiling/hot liquids are involved, so it is one of those things that should be sorted out!
I had this pot and the latch completely off broke the second time I ever used it! Thank goodness REI took it back or else I would have been out of luck for a year
I use the msr 1.3 ceramic nowadays. If you really cook sides for 2 or 3 I'd get the 1.9. I still use the S to S on occasions. I lent it to Gino in my latest video. I figured he could do his own cooking. If cooking for family members 1.9 liters should do just fine. Hope that helps.
Also Note: this is for the pots with the black latch and NO screw on the inside face of the latch. The black latch with a screw and the turquoise latch are still OK.
Don't worry if you haven't had any trouble with the original latch just be aware of a potential problem. I'm thinking about going back to the original latch because I don't see a problem and the new one is harder to unlatch.
