It's amazing how even when the whole scoring system was rigged in Seagal's favor from the start, Van Damme somehow managed to narrowly squeeze a victory by the end!
As a professor of both physics and chemistry, from this point on, instead of teaching the scientific method, ALL MY STUDENTS will watch this Space Ice video as the pinnacle of how science is done. Another great achievement done by Space Ice.
2 things I especially loved: 1. Every time he says "in out for justice" he plays the same clip of Seagal getting clipped in the back of the legs with a pool cue. 2. The freeze frame derp face photos he uses of ONLY Seagal in the VS screen. Fucking brilliant and NOT overlooked my friend.
I saw the beret when I was a kid and couldn't hold it, I kept laughing while my family was trying to enjoy movie night, the sad thing is, I've seen close to all of Seagulls 90s movies and can't believe he was an action star but my family loved it. They actually BOUGHT Van Damme movies but did NOT buy any Seagull movies so they weren't as big of a fan of him as Van Damme.
@@Xetelian In my family we loved Van Damme, but we always kinda saw Seagal as a joke, even back then in the 90s my dad always said Seagal ran like a woman, and he really does!
Fun fact: Double Impact used no special effects. JCVD can just move fast enough to appear in two places at once when he wants to, including wardrobe change.. Also when he punched that phone the guy on the other end of the line had luckily already hung up, so only his phone was destroyed by the impact.
Growing up in the early 90's I've seen my fair share of both of their movies , and I still feel like the biggest difference between the two men is that JCVD all these years later is aware that he is just an actor and has somewhat taken care of himself over the years. Seagal however...lol
If by taking care of himself you mean doing cocaine and partying then I guess you would be right lol.. he just managed to somehow not get haggard looking.
Seagal went to Russia last year and made a documental about the Ukraine war for Russia were he says that he is an expert in missiles, it is here in You Tube
Van Damme was on the Belgian Olympic karate team, was a legit ballet dancer from the age of 16 'till about 21 and won the Belgian national bodybuilding title. Belgium is a small country, so that might not sound very impressive to some. But he does have legit credentials as a martial artist and his physique is very real. He really did those crazy splits and high kicks he is famous for. I think he deserves credit and respect for that. Seagal claims he trained under an Aikido master in Japan. But that master had already passed away a couple of years before Seagal could have possibly been in Japan to train under him.. Do the maths.
The first step is admitting it, I'd be proud of you, but then again you did just say "favourite Seagal" in a sentence, so I am going to have to contact your employer and ask them to re-evaluate your position at the company.

Throughout all my years of studying science and achieving 100s of PHDs I can 100% confirm that Van Damme is better than Steven Seagal in every way possible (and not possible) we must keep scientifically proving the truth at all times and I applaud you for doing so in this video

Seagal is an asshole and Van Dam is a way better actor but his martial arts are acting. "Oh no that guy wants to fight, I'll do some splits and win the fight without worrying about my foot work at all".
While aikido is a martial art that was developed to be calm and restrain the ego and is much newer than most others, it is NOT effective in a street fight. Also as I said it is supposed to be about harmony and RESTRAINT Seagull shows nothing in regards to restraint of his ego. I'm not even kidding, aikido is more philosphy and locking joints in an effort to NOT harm your attacke, than self defense.

I remember there was a study on these two movies somewhere in the late 1860s and their results back then seem to match this more modern scientific approach. Amazingly rigurous!

Sylvester Stallone said that at his party , Steven Seagull was saying he could beat Van Damme in a fight, Van Damme was there and was furious after overhearing this. Van Damme challenged Seagull to a fight right there and Seagull left the party. Stallone said Van Damme was simply too strong for Seagull ;-D and Seagull wanted no part of it.
@@MetalsirenIXI Seagal's Akido is more like Jiu Jitsu, and in he movies, the early ones at least, there is is hyperviolence. Not just many scenes of dental devastation but also eyes being taken out. I don't think Vandenberg would want any part of Seagal in a real fight.
Fun fact about Out For Justice on Wikipedia. The director said "I really liked working with Bill Forsythe and Jerry Orbach and all those guys in the car who played the killers. But I didn't get along with Steven. He was always about an hour late for work and caused a lot of delays." 😂
He also said the film was expected to be longer and with more character plot development but scumbag seagull thought Bill Forsythe was upstaging him (as if that was a difficult thing to happen) and decided to cut a lot of Bill's scenes.
@@whom382 If he can find the tape. I believe this is the only SNL that was never rebroadcast. Even on Peacock, the episode was heavily edited, I think they cut out all but two sketches. I love hearing the crew and writers talk about this disaster. Imagine if Space Ice somehow found the whole thing. He would absolutely obliterate Steven. All you can do is pray for that.

I wish RU-vid existed in 1992 just for these videos. Seeing this stuff as a wee kid would have been both hilarious and serious. I would have taken it like almost judging and comparing MMA fighters (but obviously that would be a BIG undue compliment to Seagal).

Few people know this, but when Van Damme fought himself, no camera tricks or body doubles were used, JCVD is just that fast that he can appear to be at two places at the same time.
I wonder if Space Ice will figure out Van Damme has the strangest record in film history. Films where Jean-Claude Van Damme has played two characters who look exactly the same: Double Impact Maximum Risk Timecop Replicant The Order Honorable Mentions: JCVD, where he plays a fictional version himself. Jean Claude Van Johnson (TV Series) where he plays a fictional version of himself. Until Death, his character "dies" (goes into a coma) and then awakes as a different person.
I have two teenage sons and they call every 80-90’s action movie “old people movies” and Denied to watch them because it’s “lame”. Thanks to space ice even though they still won’t watch the movies ( need to mature ) they love these videos and brings family together for a few lol sessions. Much appreciated 🤟
How old are they? I was born in 2000 and I absolutely love these older action movies, I don't remember exactly but I wasn't even 10 yet when I watched my first movie from this period, I think it was one of Segal movies but I'm not completely sure since I watched so many of them. And I know even younger people than me who also love these movies. We definitely don't consider them "old people movies".
No offence but there's some lack of education. Why watch Fast&Furious part 1983, when you could watch Terminator, Predator, Universal Soldier, ... instead? I will keep your kids in my prayers and I hope they'll see the light eventually.
