does anyone know what's up with that? did they realize that they missed essential dialogues / scenes and had to reshoot? is he so busy he can't reshoot a 10 seconds scene? or redub his own voice? feels super weird.
@@endianAphones I heard from someone on one of the sets that he only shoots for 1 hour each day so everything else is adapted and improvised around that. Youd think he would want to make better movies though, but nah.
The thing that could be said about JCVD is that he really shows physical action. His movies are inspired a lot by 80s-90s fitness VHS tapes. Seagal meanwhile does nothing and expects people to believe the things he does are physically possible. He's always covered in loose fitting shirts to cover his obesity. Also, at a party(?) where they attended together, Seagal mentioned to someone that he could "kick the shit out" of JCVD. Word got to JCVD and he went to search for Seagal. Seagal bailed out of the party.
Blood Sport & Lion heart are also awesome. Segal is a joke, i have actually never made it through a single movie He ever made, They are all pathetic jokes, using constant cut & editing in all of His fake "fighting" scenes.
@@SpaceIce Your dislike of seagal is a key ingredient that follows all of these videos. Its a shadow and its hilarious. Your enmity towards seagal is how feel about NBA loser Russell Westbrook.
@@Saje3D If you haven't seen his JCVD movie from 2008, I highly recommend it. He actually puts on such a believable performance in that one. No sarcasm at all from me. I mean it.
I commend Seagal for using a stunt double to walk and talk on the phone at the same time, it's more dangerous than people realize. You might be so distracted that you walk off a cliff, or into the path of a train, under a falling boulder, or maybe step in dog shit. Seagal is a beacon of safety and an inspiration to us all.
My wife recently watched The Patriot, quit halfway through and then asked me to describe Steven Seagal. I told her: "Imagine Napoleon Dynamite got all old and fat - got hair plugs - and never stopped talking about how 'chicks like guys with martial arts skills.' At some point, somehow, he bumblef**ked his way into a film career."
The Quest is a guilty pleasure of mine. One of few fighting tournament plot lines that sort of work in conjunction with the general plot. And Roger Moore is such a delight to behold!
Saw that The Quest was released in 1996. Seagal was in Executive Decision that year. That movie had the nerve NOT to cast Seagal as the main character AND it killed his character off 40 minutes in! And it was Seagal's highest grossing film since Under Siege! Too bad Steven didn't get the hint and went full diva!
Pretty sure they killed him off because pinned John Leguizamo against a wall for making a joke. A 6 foot 5 guy pinned a 5 foot 5 guy because despite years of supposed martial arts training he never developed a thicker skin.
In some seriousness, Van Damme is an incredible athlete. But these reviews are so funny. I would like to see the person who narrates, to put a face to the voice.
I was at the premier of the Quest and the after party, JCVD and all the cast were great........not sure I would have had the same reception with Steve Seagull.
Watched The Quest a million years ago, but seem to remember that orphans wasn't an abandoned plot point, after winning the tourny isn't there narration about how he went back to them and something something? Feel like JCVD deserves another point for that category.
@@JonathanVachon777 Yeah, Many don't know this, But Segal switched from Action movies To making Low Budget Action Comedies. He just could not compete with Van Damme who is a legit action Star.
I was not prepared for the level of joy both of them dancing on the same screen brought me. Just discovered this channel and it's been the highlight of the week
How can this be so damn consistently hilarious? I know the punchline from the very beginning, know the setup and yet find myself giggling like a hyena throughout. Well done.
So apparently they had to dub 50% of his voice in this movie because between shooting and the final release, they changed the story so the dialogue in certain scenes had to change as well in order to keep up with story continuity. Seagal was just to lazy to dub his own voice :D.
sir, we want mooooore of these! I get that you love [and are biased towards] Van Damme (me too), but the whole structure of the competition is hilarious! Thank you!
You are so funny. Thanks for these reviews. I honestly have been tired of everything. Your channel made remember there is much joy and laughter still left in this world.
I just binged a bunch of your videos and realized I wasn't even hitting the like button. subscribe and like for your efforts. Seagal is one of my favorite subjects to ridicule and laugh at. Thanks so much!
In defense of James Remar's boxer character; the movie takes place in the early 20th century I think and back then people looked older at younger ages as life was more rough. Also Remar would have been at most 43 years old since the movie came out in 1996 and Remar was born in late December 1953. The Quest was released in the spring of 1996. We may assume that Remar's scenes were shot some time in 1995 most likely before his birthday, which would be on the New Year's Eve. So Remar turned 43 in late 1996 after the movie was released and if his scenes were shot in 1995 he was almost certainly only 41 during the time of filming unless his scenes were shot on the last day of 1995 when he turned 42.
For some reason I wanna see that Steven Seagal Movie just to see if what the commentator says about his voice changing between Steven Seagal and someone else dubbing him is true😂
I think you underestimate Seagal he kneed( if you can call it that) a brunette who in the middle of going through the wall turned into a blonde and then a brunette again. She went super saiyan mid flying but seagal is definitely God of Destruction level.
I don't know why I expected this comparison to be more evenly matched instead of the brutal one-sided ANNIHILATION of Steven Seagal's acting/writing abilities. I feel silly and ashamed for my ignorance, but thank you for showing me the error of my ways lol
I didn't know I had to dislike Steven Seagal that much until I started watching your videos. It filled a void in my life I did not even know was there. Thank you so much.
Stooven Seagulled stars in new movie "Hard to Hear" where he plays a guy that whispers all the time and if you can't hear him he gets angry and slaps you.
It shows how Van Damme learned to laugh about his career or how he made it implode, And that revitalized it, While segal still thinks he's 20 and moves even less than he did at that age and somehow finds new rock bottoms for it. Point to Van Damme.
I already loved your channel as i'm binge watching all of your videos but now that I see you've included a kung fury snippet you've risen to my top 10 channels!
Not even sure it's in this one but love the clip of Seagal at the keyboard, fingers obviously NOT typing unless he's getting a lot out of the F-keys. No bets he can even type at all. Whatta clown.
JCVD is a delightful kickboxer turned actor who will never make you angry (even if he isn't always good). Seafood Seagal is a bullshido artist who got his break in acting because a guy who sat in on one of his bullshido classes made a "she's" all that" bet based on his belief that he could turn anyone into an action star.
Ah yes, the Aikido demonstration, which consisted of obviously worked clotheslines... Literally compare Seagoal's Aikido tape to Steven Regal v Fit Finlay and I guarantee the catch wrestlers do better than the blackbelt LMAO
